[Top 5] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Gridlock Loadouts That Are Excellent

Top 5 Best Gridlock Loadouts in R6 Siege
An up-to-date list of the five best loadouts for operator Gridlock in Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8 Season 4

Gridlock received some big changes to his loadout options in the past two seasons and that’s why her loadout warrants an update. Like most loadout reworks, the changes that Gridlock has received garnered mixed reactions in the Siege community, since she gained a really strong utility, but also lost another.

That’s why in this article, we’re reexamining the best loadout combinations that players should run Gridlock with. She’s a great attacker that can create a lot of great plays for her team, especially of course when she’s playing in a well-coordinated team.

5. F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip + Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser + Impact EMP Grenade

Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle has good firepower, very decent rate of fire, good magazine size, and its recoil diamonds aren’t wide. That means it’s not prone to horizontal or random recoil from all directions. Its vertical recoil, however, can be quite challenging to hold down, so for Gridlock players who are having trouble with that, this loadout setup would be great. That’s because both the flash hider and vertical grip specialize in lowering weapons’ vertical recoil.

It won’t really be a stretch to say that this loadout setup provides the best recoil control possible on Gridlock’s F90. So if what you’re looking for is a stable shooting experience even with long sprays, make sure to try this one out. As for the impact EMP grenades, it works well with Gridlock’s gameplay as a backline support, because with it, she’ll have the capability to enable hard breaching, and once the breaching is successful, she can provide support with her special gadget, the Trax Stinger.

Excels in:

  • Having the best recoil control possible on Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle because both the flash hider and vertical grip will work hand in hand to lower its vertical recoil
  • The scope 2.5x A providing Gridlock with a great amount of zoom, making it much easier for her to see her targets, which usually translates to better accuracy.
  • Providing Gridlock with the ability to rework the map to the attacking team’s advantage due to the super shorty shotgun as her secondary weapon which has a lot of destruction rate per shot
  • Making the super shorty shotgun a good weapon for finishing off enemies when the F90 needs to reload because of the reflex B sight, and the laser which will tighten its hip fire pellet spread
  • The impact EMP grenade as Gridlock’s generic gadget provides the attacking team with another way to enable hard breaching when no one else in the team can do it

Build Details:

  • Primary Weapon - F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary Weapon - Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser
  • Generic Gadget - Impact EMP Grenade

4. F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip + Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser + Smoke Grenade

For a lot of players, having the best firepower on their weapons is always the key to winning, and for those players, this loadout setup could easily be the best. That’s because of the extended barrel which will increase its damage and lower its range damage drop-off. So with this setup on the F90 assault rifle, Gridlock will be inflicting heavy damage to her enemies regardless of the distance. And that goes so well with the scope 2.5x A which will allow her to see enemies clearly even from long distance.

As mentioned in the above entry, the F90’s vertical recoil can be quite challenging to handle, so it’s important to have at least one attachment that provides additional recoil control. For this setup, that would be the vertical grip. That way, the F90 will have a nice balance between good recoil control and higher firepower. The smoke grenades on the other hand are great for Gridlock since she mostly performs backline support and flex watch, and smoke grenades are great for pushing and defuser planting.

Excels in:

  • Increasing the firepower of Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle with the extended barrel increasing its damage and greatly lowering its range damage drop-off
  • Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle with the use of the vertical grip attachment which will lower the weapon’s overall vertical recoil
  • Providing Gridlock with a great amount of zoom level through the scope 2.5x A which is also great for pinpoint accuracy due to its arrow tip reticle at the center
  • Gridlock being able to rework the map to her advantage due to the heavy destruction rate per shot from the super shorty shotgun which can also be used for a vertical play
  • The smoke grenade will be a great utility for Gridlock when it comes to performing support for the attacking team’s push and defuser plant attempt while she also watches for the flanks

Build Details:

  • Primary Weapon - F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary Weapon - Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser
  • Generic Gadget - Smoke Grenade

3. M249 Saw with Scope 2.5x A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser + Smoke Grenade

Even though there has been a massive nerf on light machine guns a few seasons ago, Gridlock’s M249 Saw is among the few LMGs that remained almost untouched by it. That’s because its recoil is still very manageable as one could see from the recoil test image below. I was able to fire all bullets from its huge magazine without losing much control, and that’s one of the things that make the M249 Saw variant a unique light machine gun. It pretty much feels like a large assault rifle.

That’s because despite its high firepower and huge magazine capacity, it can be reloaded fast. That’s due to its detachable magazine which the non-saw variant doesn’t possess. Perhaps the only drawback that the M249 Saw has is that the suppressor isn’t available to it. That's probably because the devs think that it would be too powerful of a weapon when it comes to applying suppressive fire when it can also be equipped with a suppressor. As for its available barrel attachments, the compensator is the one that provides it with the most stable recoil as it will greatly reduce the size of its recoil diamonds.

Excels in:

  • Being able to provide suppressive fire due to the huge magazine capacity and very manageable recoil of Gridlock’s M249 Saw which is perfect for Gridlock’s gameplay
  • Having a light machine in the M249 Saw that has a huge magazine capacity but can also be reloaded quickly due to its detachable magazine which is only available to the Saw variant
  • Providing Gridlock with the ability to see her enemies really well through the scope 2.5x A which provides a great amount of zoom level that usually translates to great accuracy
  • The super shorty as Gridlock’s secondary weapon will have a tight hip fire spread due to the laser and can be used for vertical plays as well as reworking the map to the attacking team’s advantage
  • Being able to provide a lot of cover for the attacking team’s push with the two smoke grenades in Gridlock’s arsenal as her generic gadgets

Build Details:

  • Primary Weapon - M249 Saw with Scope 2.5x A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary Weapon - Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser
  • Generic Gadget - Smoke Grenade

2. F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip + Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser + Frag Grenade

While it’s a shame that the suppressor isn’t available to the M249 Saw as one of its barrel attachment choices, it’s definitely available to the F90, and while it doesn’t have the huge magazine capacity that the M249 Saw has, it can still be used for applying suppressive fire. And when suppressive fire is applied from a suppressed weapon, it can be very hard for enemies to counter. That’s because unless they get a visual of the shooter, they won’t immediately have an idea where the shots are coming from.

That’s because the suppressor removes the directional threat indicator from weapons. That’s the white marker that players get when they get shot, telling them the direction of where the shots are coming from. The suppressor will also hide the weapon’s muzzle flash as well as greatly dampen its gunshot sounds. Because of all those stealth benefits, Gridlock can make it so that enemies will react slower to her shots, and that usually means they won’t be able to counter effectively or protect themselves on time.

Excels in:

  • The suppressed F90 will allow Gridlock to shoot enemies without a directional threat indicator and muzzle flash. It’ll also greatly silence the weapon’s gunshots.
  • Maintaining ample vertical recoil on Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle with the use of the vertical attachment which will allow her to hold down the weapon’s recoil better
  • Having pinpoint accuracy when aiming-down-sights on Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle due to the high zoom level from the scope 2.5x A and its arrow tip reticle at the center
  • Providing Gridlock with the ability to create entry points on unreinforced walls and hatches due to the super shorty shotgun as her secondary weapon
  • Having a great utility for pushing in the frag grenade as Gridlock’s generic gadget, because she can use it to force defenders out of their entrenched positions

Build Details:

  • Primary Weapon - F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary Weapon - Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser
  • Generic Gadget - Frag Grenade

1. F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser + Frag Grenade

Being a 3-health operator, Gridlock’s role is usually the backline support or the flank watch. She does so well with those roles because of her special gadget, the Trax Stinger, which is great for area-denial and can really make it difficult for enemies to use flanking spots. And when it comes to watching the flanks, especially on a rush or an aggressive push, it’ll be great for Gridlock to be able to react to enemies quickly and aim at them faster than normal.

That’s what this loadout setup provides. With the angled grip on Gridlock’s F90, she’ll be able to go into aim-down-sights faster than normal, which is great for pushing and flank watch. And while the angled grip doesn’t provide additional recoil control, the flash hider on the F90’s barrel will. That’s the attachment that will provide recoil control in this setup. With this, Gridlock will have a good balance between aim-down-sights speed as well as recoil control, and this fits Gridlock’s role the best.

Excels in:

  • Gridlock being able to go into aim-down-sights stance faster than normal with the use of the angled grip attachment on her F90 assault rifle which is great for flank watch
  • Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on the F90 because of the flash hider barrel attachment which will also remove the weapon’s muzzle flash
  • Being able to see enemies really well through the scope 2.5x A on Gridlock’s F90 assault rifle which is great for accuracy due to its high levels of zoom and arrow tip reticle at the center
  • The super shorty shotgun as Gridlock’s secondary weapon will allow her to perform vertical plays as well as destroy parts of the map for entry points or more lines of sight
  • The frag grenades in Gridlock’s arsenal are great utilities for pushing because they can be used for forcing defenders out of their hiding spots as well as short duration area denial

Build Details:

  • Primary Weapon - F90 with Scope 2.5x A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • Secondary Weapon - Super Shorty with Reflex B and Laser
  • Generic Gadget - Frag Grenade
