Brits are known for a few things - their teeth, tea, and their planes in War Thunder. Britain was actually one of the first factions I have played and I had plenty of fun with Fury, Nimrods, and Gladiator planes in the first tier. But today, I am here to talk about the tier 3 planes - I shall quickly analyze their pros, how they look like and what they’re meant for. Let’s start then!

3. Spitfire F Mk XVI

Beautiful.

This fighter is excellent for boom and zoom tactics because of its supreme dive speed - it’s the highest among all the other Spitfires. It’s also mounted with M2 heavy machine guns that are capable of shredding other planes to bits, bombers included. Besides, you can also optionally equip yourself with some bombs and drop them on ground targets. An incredibly decent plane!

Why this plane is dope:

• Great dive speed, which makes this plane one of the most enjoyable boomers and zoomers in this tier
• Alright firepower - M2 HMGs, should turn other fighters into a pile of dirt, bombers as well, although you might need longer bursts against them
• Accurate bombs that should do plenty of damage to vehicle convoys

2. Tempest Mk II

My beloved plane that I could never master.

I’ve had plenty of fun flying this thing but I could never properly land on carriers or aim at higher speeds(+600km/h). One thing that I was decent at was shooting down other planes unless I was matched up with some jerk from higher tiers. You can expect incredible firepower and agility at moderate altitude+speed. If you have no choice but to land on a carrier, then it is possible. Use it for boom and zoom and perhaps bomber hunting - a great thing!

Why this plane is dope:

• Fun for dogfighting, easy to maneuver with, and boom&zoom tactics
• Excellent performance at medium speed
• Awesome armaments - x4 20mm Hispano cannons that perform well against other fighters+bombers

1. Spitfire LF Mk IX

The best!

This Spitfire is epic at 1 thing - maneuvrability. It’s decent at all altitudes and combining that with its firepower, this is, hands-down, the greatest fighter in the third tier, IMO. If you’re wondering about the armaments, this Spitfire is armed with M2 Brownings which are farrrrr better than the older .303 Brownings. Your engine can be upgraded to a large extent, which should improve your dogfighting capabilities!

Why this plane is awesome:

• Decent engine upgrades
• Useful armaments(M2 Brownings that should be more than enough to destroy other fighters in this tier)
• Maneuvrability is decent at all altitudes, gets improved if you upgrade this plane
