So, we have discussed T1 planes and explained why they were kick-ass and the time has come for T2 planes, which are even more badass. When you begin to unlock planes from higher tiers, one thing that you’ll notice is that they might have better armaments, durability, and speed. I will mention some of my favorite T2 Jap planes and explain why they’re awesome, let’s start!

3. Bf 109 E-7

They’ve borrowed it from the Germans, I guess..

But it’s a plane that you can find in the Japanese faction so who cares. This cupcake might not be the sturdiest plane out there but it’s mounted with lovely armaments that should rip into other fighters and maybe even bombers if you’re accurate enough. What are these armaments? 

• 2x20mm MG FF/M cannons
• 2x7.92mm MG machine guns

These two pack a powerful punch and the light machine guns have plenty of ammo, unfortunately for the cannons, the ammo cap is pretty low so you’ll have to make your hits count. Great plane, shreds T1 planes to bits!

Why this plane is fantastic:

• OP cannons, best used against heavily-armored bombers/fighters
• Light machine guns have plenty of ammo and can easily dispose of lower-tier planes
• Can withstand negative Gs

2. Ki-100

Ki?

A plane that excels at boom&zoom tactics and turnfighting is a rather rare sight to see. It climbs altitude pretty fast(10.1 meters per second) and is equipped with decent armaments that are effective at short to medium distances. The maneuverability of this plane is also off the charts, you can easily escape from dangerous situations either by turning around in a short amount of time or just flying away, thanks to the speed(605 KM/h if upgraded). Have fun with this plane but keep in mind that reckless plays can cost you a lot!

Why this plane is sick:

• Out-maneuvers pretty much everyone
• Strong cannons that should be used in short+medium distances, against all sorts of aircraft
• Decent both at turnfighting and boom&zoom tactics

1. J2M2

Jay2 is hands-down my favorite plane out there in this tier. Why? It’s fast as hell, invest in this beast and you’ll reach around 630 KM/H. Planes are also usually squishy in this tier but the J2M2 can stay alive for a little bit longer thanks to its self-sealing fuel tanks, a 70mm bulletproof front glass, and an 8mm steel plate behind the seat. One of the worst planes you can encounter is the British Spitfires, one of the best planes in War Thunder. At the start, you should climb up to higher altitudes and conduct some boomery and zoomery - don’t worry about your wings, they’ll rip if you cross 820 KM/H!

Why this plane is awesome:

• Boom and zoom gameplay applies to this plane, wings rip speed is around 820KM/H, and easily climbs up altitude
• Durable, which is rare among Japanese planes
• Armaments are strong and can instagib planes if lucky
