[Top 5] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Lion Loadouts That Are Excellent

Top 5 Best Lion Loadouts in R6 Siege
An updated take on Lion’s best loadouts for Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 7 Season 4.2

Lion is one of the best all-around operators in the game since he can play many roles. He’s a very effective anti-roamer because his EE-ONE-D scans can either stop enemies on their tracks or gather intel on their locations. He’s also a very effective backline support since he has an excellent marksman rifle and claymores for countering run outs and flankers.

His assault rifle is easily one of the best guns in the game with no perceived drawback, and on top of all that, he can even be effective at the front lines because he has a very powerful shotgun as one of his choices for his primary weapon. In this article, we’re going to take an in-depth look at the best loadout choices that make this very versatile operator even more effective in the field.

5. SG-CQB with Reflex B, Vertical Grip, and Laser + P9 with Suppressor - Stun Grenade

The SG-CQB is one of the most popular pump action shotguns in the game because it packs a heavy punch per shot, and it has a relatively quick pump cycle. Each shot from the SG-CQB can take out an enemy with just one shot if all or most of its pellets hit the enemy’s body. Of course, that has the best chance of happening at close range. Thankfully, with Lion’s EE-ONE-D, he can stop opponents on their tracks and the sound of the scan can mask his approach. The EE-ONE-D scan can be used by Lion to get close to his enemies and within the effective range of his SG-CQB shotgun.

The laser attachment on the shotgun will greatly tighten its hip fire pellet spread, increasing the chance that all of its pellets will hit the opponent’s body even through hip fire. But when it comes to going into aim-down-sights with the SG-CQB, Lion will have great aim because of the Reflex B 1.0x sight which will provide him with a really clear view because of its small frame. The vertical grip on the other hand will allow Lion to hold down the recoil of the SG-CQB which will allow him to line up his next shots really well.

Excels in:

  • Having close range superiority over your opponents because of the pellet spread and heavy damage per pellet from the SG-CQB shotgun
  • Having a tight hip fire spread on the SG-CQB shotgun due to the laser attachment
  • Having a clear front and side view when aiming-down-sight with the SG-CQB shotgun because of the Reflex B’s small frame
  • Being able to shoot defender gadgets like CCTV cameras and traps with less chances of alerting enemies through the use of the suppressed P9 handgun
  • Blinding enemies and inflicting an ear-ringing effect on them before pushing with the use of the three stun grenades in Lion's arsenal

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - SG-CQB with Reflex B, Vertical Grip, and Laser
  • Secondary weapon - P9 with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Stun Grenade

4. V308 with Scope 2.0x, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + Gonne-6 + Impact EMP Grenade

As mentioned in the introduction to this article, the V308 assault rifle which is unique to Lion, is easily one of the best guns in the game because it’s almost perfect. It inflicts a good amount of damage per shot, has a wide variety of attachments available to it, has a decent rate of fire, and perhaps its best quality is that its recoil is very manageable. This allows the user to equip it with non-recoil providing attachments and he’d still be able to hold down the gun well while shooting, even with long sprays.

However, for players who love having great recoil control on their weapons while their shooting, this loadout setup is very viable. That’s because the compensator on Lion’s V308 assault rifle will reduce the size of its recoil diamonds, and the V308 has pretty big ones. With the size of the V308’s recoil diamonds reduced, its tendency for horizontal and random recoil in all directions will also be reduced. This usually results in a more stable firing experience. As for the Impact EMP Grenades, Lion is one of the few attackers that have been granted access to it, and it’s very useful when Thatcher is banned, which still happens a lot.

Excels in:

  • Reducing the V308’s propensity for horizontal and random recoil on all directions due to the compensator reducing the size of its recoil diamonds
  • The vertical grip maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil on the V308 assault rifle making it easier for the user to hold it down while shooting
  • Providing Lion with a great level of zoom while maintaining a clear view of the surroundings due to the small frame of the scope 2.0x
  • Having the ability to destroy a troublesome bulletproof defender gadget through the use of the Gonne-6 hand cannon
  • Disabling defender gadgets that are preventing attackers from hard breaching with the use of the impact EMP grenades

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - V308 with Scope 2.0x, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary weapon - Gonne-6
  • Generic gadget - Impact EMP Grenade

3. 417 with Scope 3.0x, Muzzle Brake, and Vertical Grip + P9 with Suppressor + Claymore

The 417-marksman rifle is an underused weapon for both Lion and Twitch. Not because it’s bad. Far from it. The reason is that Lion and Twitch both have assault rifles that are easier to use. However, for players who excel at using non-automatic weapons even at close range, this loadout setup for Lion could even be their best. That’s because the 417-marksman rifle is devastating for both long-range and close-range shooting. Its long-range capability is a given since it’s a marksman rifle, and all marksman rifles in the game are great at long-range, however, its close-range capability is what’s really scary.

The 417-marksman rifle is one of the most unique guns in the game because its hip fire is very tight. Its hip fire spread doesn’t even change even if you fire it in quick succession. Add a laser to it and it’s going to be even tighter. This means that with this loadout setup in Lion’s hand, he doesn’t even need to go into aim-down-sights stance to hit enemies at close range. That will give him the speed advantage when it comes to sudden encounters which happen a lot in Siege. The vertical grip will allow Lion to line his next shots well, making the 417-marksman rifle in this loadout setup a great finisher.

Excels in:

  • Having the long-range superiority over your enemies with the use of the 417-marksman rifle
  • Also having the close-range superiority over your enemies because of the tight hip fire from the 417-marksman rifle
  • Having a very high zoom level through the scope 3.0x on the 417 while maintaining a clear view due to the scope’s frame that doesn’t eat up a lot of screen space
  • Being able to line up your next shots well with the 417-marksman rifle through the use of the vertical grip attachment
  • Shooting defender gadgets such as cameras and Kapkan traps silently through the use of the suppressed P9 handgun
  • Protecting yourself from roamers, flankers, and run outs with the use of the two claymores in Lion’s arsenal

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - 417 with Scope 3.0x, Muzzle Brake, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary weapon - P9 with Suppressor
  • Generic gadget - Claymore

2. V308 with Scope 2.0x, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + LFP586 + Claymore

This loadout setup balances recoil control and speed. That’s because what will provide the recoil control on the V308 assault rifle is the flash hider which specializes in lowering the vertical recoil of weapons. On the other hand, the angled grip won’t provide vertical recoil control like the vertical grip does, but it will allow Lion to go into aim-down-sights stance quicker. So with this loadout, Lion will find himself being able to aim at enemies faster while still being able to manage the V308’s recoil well because of the flash hider.

This is a very solid loadout setup for Lion players which will allow them to effectively engage enemies at any range. The scope 2.0x on the V308 will provide them with a really good amount of zoom which will make enemies appear bigger on their screen and, therefore, easier to hit. The scope 2.0x main frame also doesn’t eat up a lot of screen space, so the user will have an unobstructed view. As for the secondary weapon in this loadout setup, the LFP586 handgun will provide heavy stopping fire power and high destruction profile per shot.

Excels in:

  • Being able to go into aim-down-sights stance faster due to the angled grip attachment
  • Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on the V308 assault rifle due to the flash hider barrel attachment
  • Having a high level of zoom through the scope 2.0x and an unobstructed view due to its frame that doesn’t take up a lot of screen space
  • Having a secondary weapon with high stopping power in the LFP58 handgun which also has a high destruction profile per shot
  • Being able to protect yourself from flankers, roamers, and run outs, with the use of the two claymores in Lion’s arsenal

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - V308 with Scope 2.0x, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • Secondary weapon - LFP586
  • Generic gadget - Claymore

1. V308 with Scope 2.0x, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip + Gonne-6 + Stun Grenade

This is the best loadout setup for Lion because it will provide him with the best versatility and is what’s going to be effective in most situations. First with the V308 assault rifle, due to its very manageable recoil, especially when augmented with the vertical grip attachment which will greatly lower its vertical recoil, the user will be free to attach the suppressor to it. With this the user will be able to take advantage of the great stealth benefits that the suppressor brings. And because of that, this loadout setup will allow Lion to excel at any range.

With the suppressor on the barrel of the V308 assault rifle, Lion can shoot enemies without them knowing where his shots are coming from. That’s because the suppressor will remove the weapon’s directional threat indicator. It will also hide its muzzle flash and greatly silence its gunshots. Because of this, it could take a while for enemies to know where Lion is shooting them from, and that’s great for preventing an effective and immediate counterattack. The Gonne-6 hand cannon as Lion’s secondary will provide him with the ability to destroy a pesky bulletproof defender gadget, and the stun grenades will allow him to soften up the objective spot before a push.

Excels in:

  • Making it much harder for enemies to know where Lion is shooting from with the suppressor removing the V308’s directional threat indicator
  • Reducing the visual cues that enemies could see when Lion is shooting with the suppressor removing the V308’s muzzle flash
  • Making it even harder for enemies to determine Lion’s location with the suppressor greatly reducing the sound of the V308’s gunshots
  • Providing Lion with the ability to destroy a troublesome bulletproof enemy gadget with the use of the Gonne-6 hand cannon
  • Softening up the objective spot before pushing with the stun grenades blinding and deafening the defenders inside

Build Details:

  • Primary weapon - V308 with Scope 2.0x, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip
  • Secondary weapon - Gonne-6
  • Generic gadget - Stun Grenade
