Well, what do you think about taking a look and reading up on some lore from some of your favorite champions! If you don’t know where to start with that, let me help you out. 

Well, what do you say that today we list some of the most badass females from the League of Legends lore. The way that I’ll be ranking these champions is by their back story alone and what they have done in their past to achieve such a legendary status. I will not be looking at their in-game powers and how strong they are in certain matches. With that in mind let’s get into the article!

5. Katarina

“They won’t know what hit them!”

When it comes to badass females in League of Legends none other stands out like the badass assassin from the noble family Du Couteau. From a very early age Katarina always wanted to be like her father who was widely known as one of the best assassins in Noxus. She spent her whole childhood honing herself into the ultimate weapon she’s known today. After years of training she got her first contract to assassinate a line officer Demetrius of the opposing army and of course she was livid. 

As that wouldn’t be enough to prove herself to her nation Katarina took it upon herself to assassinate the general of the opposing army. It was a flawless execution that the enemy didn’t even know he died until the morning they all woke up and he didn’t come out of his tent. But since every action has an opposite and equal reaction the line officer Demetrious her original target stormed the camp where her father and the Noxian army were holed up. 

A lot of Noxian soldiers died that morning and her father, barely getting out alive, was angry at Katarina and the way that she acted. Knowing that she could never redeem herself again Katarina stormed off to find Demetrius and end him once and for all. After several hours of fighting Katarina managed to capture Demetrius and bring his head to her father’s feet, finally finishing the job that was originally given to her. 

4. Irelia

“My blades do all the talking!”

You see Irelia was born in the nation of Ioania a peaceful nation that only wanted peace and prosperity. During her childhood she was sent over to Placidium to hone her dancing skills. After a rigorous amount of training Irelia finally returned home to find it occupied by the invading forces of Noxus. When she returned home she found it ransacked by the forces of Noxus and found unmarked graves in her garden. 

Realizing that was her family in those graves she was in shock. After the shock had worn out she saw two Noxian soldiers carrying out a copious amount of valuables from her home along with her family’s huge crest. While trying to get the family’s crest back the general ordered it smashed but that was his biggest mistake. Irelia managed to form a connection to the shattered pieces of the crest and cut down the two soldiers who ransacked her home.

She then made herself a way out of the village with her life barely intact. Not long after Irelia joined the army to defend her home and throw away the invading forces of Noxus. At which she was successful by cutting down the main general’s soldiers like she was cutting through butter and taking the general’s hand lowering the morale of the Noxian army which consequently resulted in Noxus losing the battle and retreating from Ioania for now. 

3. Vayne

“I only find peace in slaying demons!”

When it comes to Vayne she was born in a rich family and had a nice upbringing. Her whole life centered around learning to play instruments, reading, collecting different insects and everything else that a child would do in a rich family. But all of her life would be turned upside down when she returned home after celebrating her 16th birthday. That night she would see the lifeless corpses of her parents with a demon consuming them.

The demon didn’t want to kill Vayne instead it gave her a lustful smile and vanished into thin air. From that point onward Vayne dedicated her life to slaying and hunting down demons as that was the only way she could have a peace of mind. After training and becoming a professional monster hunter Vayne finally caught a trail of the demon that killed her parents. At that moment she could think of nothing else but slaying the demon once and for all and bringing peace to her parent’s deaths with a horrifying smile on her face. 

2. Shyvana

“Feel the wrath of a dragon!”

Shyvana has had a weird life altogether. One faithful day a mage decided he wanted to steal some dragon eggs and bring them over to Piltover to be sold. After successfully stealing the dragon egg and flying toward Piltover the egg began to hatch but to his surprise instead of a dragon coming out of the egg it came a girl with violet skin.

Knowing this he couldn’t proceed to sell the girl he kept her himself and raised her. After years had passed her original mother, Yvva would begin searching for Shyvana to bring her child back and since it was her own blood Yvva could easily sense where Shyvana was at all times. Following that sense, Yvva stumbled upon the mage who stole her child and promptly burned him to a crisp. 

Later Shyvana buried his body in a nearby forest and while leaving it she found another wounded man that she could save. Shyvana turned herself into a dragon and promptly saved the man who turned out to be the next heir to Demacia aka Jarvan IV. Shortly after Shyvana along with the Demacian army fought her mother Yvva, killing her and earning her place among the dependable guards of the king. 

1. Evelynn

“Everyone has a weakness.”

You know how Vayne’s parents were murdered by a demon… Yeah, it was her who did it but she wasn’t always like this. Before even humans existed in Runeterra there were demons who roamed the continent and they didn’t even have a form instead they were more of a wisp and shapeless. But during the Rune Wars that’s when most demons started taking a shape and involving themselves in the war so that they could feed off of people suffering and dying and such was the case with Evelynn. 

Once the war was over Evelynn yearned for the suffering of people so much that she turned into a succubus that could charm any man or woman she came across. Once her victims were under her spell Evelynn would begin to torture them until they would die feeding her desires. Knowing that this won’t satisfy her for long she searches for a way to turn the world into pure chaos once again so that way she can only live in ecstasy. The whole story of this demon is badass, especially the way that she prays on people so that she can feed and continue living.
