[Top 15] LOL Best Carry Champions That Wreck Hard!

Best Carry Champions League of Legends
Let's make them rage-quit.

League of Legends has 161 champions currently. Finding the right one to play with can be hard, especially for new players. You will get stuck trying to remember the abilities if you start trying them one by one and get destroyed by your opponents. But don’t worry, we got you covered. Here are the top carry champions that you can use to annihilate your enemies.

15. Illaoi

ILLAOI MONTAGE 2022 - PERFECT

Illaoi is one of the easiest champions to play in lower elo but also really hard to master because of how easily she can be countered. She is mostly played in the top lane. If you get an early lead with Illaoi, the game is pretty much over for the enemy team. Her tanky presence can be tilting for the enemy team.

Illaoi is such a good carry because

  • She can 1v2 if played correctly.
  • She can heal huge amounts of health while causing tons of damage.
  • She is easy to play and does not require too much skill.
  • She is tanky and really hard to kill if fed.
  • She is one of the strongest split pushers and can also do well in team fights.

Illaoi is strongest against

  • Sion
  • Renekton
  • Ornn
  • Aatrox
  • Nasus

Illaoi is weakest against

  • Teemo
  • Gangplank
  • Vayne
  • Lucian
  • Gwen

14. Bel’Veth

BEL'VETH MONTAGE - BEST PLAYS

Bel’Veth is mainly a jungler. People are already abusing her in solo que because of how strong she is. I mean, the champion has infinite attack speed scaling. She gains attack speed as she farms. Her kit gives her sustain and BIG damage. Her predominant role is in the jungle.

Here is why Bel’Veth is such a good carry

  • She has infinite attack speed scaling and can abuse the conqueror rune.
  • She is a highly mobile champion.
  • She can take on multiple enemies easily.
  • She has huge snowball potential.
  • She has consistent shredding damage output.

Bel’Veth is strongest against these champions

  • Warwick
  • Karthus
  • Gragas
  • Ivern
  • Fiddlesticks

Bel’Veth is weakest against these guys

  • Jax
  • Rengar
  • Volibear
  • Qiyana
  • Garen

13. Garen

GAREN MONTAGE 2022 - SOLO CARRY

Garen is as old as League of Legends. He is usually played in the top lane. He has been a consistently strong champion since the start of the game no matter what patch it was. He is also abused in solo que for climbing because he has such a strong kit. Garen has very simple point-and-click abilities but to be good at Garen isn’t as simple as brain-dead button-mashing. You still have to know what to be doing and when and how to position yourself to win team fights. Most players succeed by playing Garen aggressively and that is the only way to snowball as Garen. You will usually want to run ignite on him with very few exceptions in which Garen loses the match-up. If played correctly, Garen swims through lower elo while being equally effective in higher elo.

Garen is a stomping carry because:

  • Garen’s ultimate is a very strong execution spell.
  • Garen’s passive “Perseverance” allows him to have incredible sustain.
  • Garen has high defensive stats due to his W spell.
  • Garen is a tanky bruiser with a lot of roaming potential.
  • A fed Garen practically means the game is over.

Garen is strongest against

  • Jax
  • Gragas
  • Riven
  • Cho’Gath
  • Shen

Garen is weakest against

  • Darius
  • Vayne
  • Mordekaiser
  • Fiora
  • Camille

12. Darius

DARIUS MONTAGE 2022 - GOD

Darius was released in the early days of League of Legends. He is mostly played in the top lane but some people also play him mid. When he came out, he was so busted that they had to rework and nerf him many times but even after all those reworks… he is still busted.

Darius is such a hard carry that he is almost always banned in low elo solo que. If your enemies see you get fed with Darius in the early game, they start sweating super hard. Most people think Darius is a brain-dead champion but he is actually not. There are a lot of ways to counter Darius and chances are that if you’ve picked him, the enemy jungler will focus on your lane so that you don’t get ahead. It’s just like that, everyone knows how scary a fed Darius can be.

Lacking mobility, Darius relies mostly on the ghost spell for mobility and ignite for additional damage. The ghost-ignite combo is best for cheesing and winning early game. Some people rely on flash and ghost for mobility.

Some simple techniques followed correctly will help you sail through low elo.

Darius is one of the best stompers in the game because:

  • His passive “Hemorrhage” causes damage over time causing him to win extended trades
  • Darius has super strong all-in potential with ghost.
  • Darius wins 1v1s most of the time.
  • Darius’s Q allows him to win the short trades if you can land them.
  • Darius’s E gives him passive armour penetration allowing him to shred tanks.
  • Darius’s ultimate causes a very high amount of damage if you have 5 stacks of “Hemorrhage”. Also, its cooldown is reset if you execute the enemy giving him high 1v2 potential.
  • Darius can split push as well as participate in team fights.
  • Conqueror and his Q give him a lot of healing.

Darius is strongest against

  • Cho’Gath
  • Mundo
  • Malphite
  • Maokai
  • Poppy

Darius is weakest against

  • Gnar
  • Vayne
  • Lucian
  • Quinn
  • Cassiopia

11. Fizz

FIZZ MONTAGE 2022 - CLEAN

Fizz is mostly played in the mid-lane as a melee mage assassin who deals insane amounts of damage. Fizz is underrated when it comes to mid-laners and you don’t see him that frequently. But when you do see him, a good fizz can easily make his enemies cry.

Fizz counters most of the mid-lane mages. In low elo, you’ll often find your opponents underestimating your damage even at level 2. Once you hit level 6 you can easily all in most champions. Your ultimate is a skill shot but if you combine it with your Q, which is a gap closer, it becomes undodgeable.

To play Fizz well you gotta know some of his “Fizz-ics”. His w allows him to farm very easily. His passive grants him damage reduction. His E allows him to dodge all kinds of abilities.

Fizz is a very strong carry because

  • Fizz has the potential to make outplays with his E.
  • Fizz can dive the enemy under the turret pretty easily.
  • Fizz is a highly mobile champion.
  • Fizz has great snowball potential.
  •  Fizz can one-shot most squishies owing to his high burst damage.
  • Fizz can flip-flop his way to safety and use Zhonya’s to become untouchable by the enemy.

Fizz is strongest against

  • Orianna
  • Syndra
  • Xerath
  • Brand
  • Ryze

Fizz is weakest against

  • Lissandra
  • Aatrox
  • Urgot
  • Kled
  • Galio

10. Teemo

Teemo Montage - 1000 IQ

Although such a cute Yordle, Teemo is one of the most hated champions of League of Legends. This is because of how annoying his mushrooms are and how much damage Teemo can do.

Teemo counters all auto-attack-based champions because his Q is a blind. He can go stealth. He does damage over time with his E and his mushrooms which are basically landmines. He has good wave-clear with his mushrooms. Teemo also gains a lot of mobility with his W.

Teemo is mainly played as a ranged top-laner. His mushrooms can be used during fights or to fill the lane up with landmines so that the lane becomes ungankable. Being a ranged champion, he counters most of the strong top-laners.

Most players like to play Teemo aggressively with ignite. All you have to do is constantly auto-attack the enemy when possible and harass them out of the lane. Or you can just all in them if they try to get too cocky. Teemo can also harass enemies under turret which makes him very hard to lane against.

The best bet the enemy has is to farm under the turret or beg his jungler to camp his lane. Be careful though as Teemo is very squishy and hard to play if you’re behind.

Teemo is a very strong pick because

  • He is a ranged top-laner.
  • He has huge damage output after just 1 main item.
  • He has high mobility.
  • He counters all AD carries.
  • He is easy to learn.
  • He has a lot of poke in his kit.
  • He can provide a lot of vision with his mushrooms and control the map.

Teemo is strongest against

  • Garen
  • Quinn
  • Vayne
  • Singed
  • Tryndamere

Teemo is weakest against

  • Yasuo
  • Victor
  • Cassiopea
  • Ryze
  • Rengar

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Teemo/LoL

9. Lucian

LUCIAN MONTAGE 2022 - MECHANICS

Lucian is an AD carry primarily played in the bot-lane but sometimes also played in mid and top. Lucian is a skilled champion and you have to be mechanically good at the game to play him well. He has loads of potential to outplay. To win with Lucian you must position yourself well in team fights, be ready to dodge skill shots and know when to engage.

Lucian can be used as a counter-pick against most top-lane bullies. He has huge kiting potential and very high mobility. Lucian scales really well into the late game still providing a high damage output.

There are a few cons to him though. He has low range and is not a hyper-carry like Vayne. If you fall behind in the early game, it will be really hard for you to get back on your feet. Tanks can be a little hard to kill for Lucian.

Lucian is a strong carry because

  • You can play him in multiple lanes.
  • He has a dash to dodge skill shots or pass through walls.
  • His ultimate causes high shredding damage.
  • His passive allows him to win trades by landing a high amount of auto-attacks.
  • He out-damages most AD carries in the early game.
  • He synergizes with most supports due to his passive.
  • He gains movement speed by tagging enemies with his W.

Lucian is strongest against

  • Ashe
  • Jinx
  • Sivir
  • Twitch
  • Vayne

Lucian is weakest against

  • Draven
  • Cassiopeia
  • Yasuo
  • Aphelios
  • Miss Fortune

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Lucian/LoL

8. Twitch

TWITCH MONTAGE 2022 - CLEAN

Twitch was predominantly supposed to be an AD carry but people play him in the jungle as well due to the famous streamer “Ratirl”. His Q ability gives him stealth and attack speed allowing him to make surprise attacks on the enemy.

When played in the bot lane, Twitch relies on an enchanter support like Lulu or Janna to give him protection as he farms. Once Twitch has bought 2 items he gets really strong. He excels in team fights if positioned well. The enemy will mostly try to burst him down so it requires a fair bit of patience to play him. His R ability gives him attack range and also allows him to target multiple enemies.

When played as a jungler, the playstyle sort of changes to an assassin. You can just sit on the mid-laner and gank him whenever possible. This will make him tilt and you will often find opportunities to kill them even at level 2.

A fed Twitch makes his opponents ff most of the time. But Twitch can be countered easily as he is susceptible to CC and is fairly squishy.

Twitch is a super strong carry because

  • He has stealth followed by a burst of attack speed.
  • He has high mobility but no dashes.
  • He can attack multiple enemies.
  • He has high snowball potential.
  • He is a hyper-carry.
  • He is an excellent ganker and causes huge lane pressure.

Twitch is strongest against

  • Varus
  • Aphelios
  • Zeri
  • Jinx
  • Jhin

Twitch is weakest against

  • Rengar
  • Yasuo
  • Vi
  • Nautilus
  • Draven

7. Mage Malphite

Malphite Montage 2020 - AP One Shot

Malphite is mainly considered a tank in the top lane but that is a really boring way to play him. Malphite’s potential to carry lies in playing him as a mage mid-laner or jungler.

All you have to do is build flat AP, whenever you have your ultimate available, you have a guaranteed kill unless you miss it of course. It is very simple to play. An R followed by Q W and E will almost always be a kill.

As a mid-laner, you’ll want to take arcane comet as your keystone and in jungle, you can abuse predator. Jungling with Malphite is really effective as it is almost always a guaranteed kill.

In the late game, Malphite can do a 4-man or a 5-man ultimate to win the team fight. All it requires is a bit of patience.

AP Malphite is a hard carry because

  • He has a huge amount of burst damage.
  • He can catch enemies by surprise.
  • He scales well into the late game.
  • He has a fast jungle clear.
  • He has good 1v1 potential, especially against squishies.
  • He is very lethal in team fights

Malphite is strongest against

  • Master Yi
  • Rengar
  • Evelynn
  • Elise
  • Kindered

Malphite is weakest against

  • Diana
  • Shyvana
  • Nunu
  • Ekko
  • Tryndamere

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Malphite/LoL

6. Rengar

ScrubNoob - Return Of The King (Challenger Rengar Montage)

Rengar is a very formidable and dangerous kitty. He has huge amounts of burst damage and can be played both jungle and in the top lane.

When played as a jungler, you will mostly want to build him as an assassin because you will mostly be picking him against a squishy comp. He can jump through bushes an infinite number of times so you will want to sneak up in the lane from behind. Once you have your ultimate it should always be on cooldown, meaning you should always gank when you have your ultimate.

In the top lane you have a lot of options on what to build. You can build off-tank, utility, assassin, bruiser whichever you like. Rengar has a lot of lane control against most matchups. You can even 1v2 if you’re a bit fed. You can almost always out-trade your opponent.

Rengar is a super-strong pick because

  • He has huge mobility.
  • He has high burst damage.
  • He can out-trade his opponents with double W.
  • He can jump from bushes.
  • He takes down turrets really fast.
  • His ultimate provides vision against stealth enemies.
  • He can constantly harass enemies in the laning phase.

Rengar is strongest against

  • Teemo
  • Tryndamere
  • Vayne
  • Gangplank
  • Mordekaiser

Rengar is weakest against

  • Darius
  • Sett
  • Rumble
  • Garen
  • Kled

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Rengar/LoL

5. Tryndamere

FOGGEDFTW2 TRYNDAMERE MONTAGE

Tryndamere is a very strong top-laner. He has high split-pushing and 1v2/1v3 potential. His ultimate basically allows him to become immortal for a few seconds. In addition to this, he gains critical strike chance from his rage and also bonus attack damage by his Q. Tryndamere is a very mobile champion and his E which is a dash, resets based on critical strikes.

Foggedftw2 is the most famous Tryndamere player and he has shown how to dominate with him. A good Tryndamere can counter almost any champion just as a bad Tryndamere can lose pretty easily.

Tryndamere is an auto-attack-based champion and the trick lies in knowing when to press R. Tryndamere is very susceptible to CC so you will have to watch out for high CC champions.

Here is why Tryndamere is pretty great

  • R allows him to live for 5 seconds at 1 health.
  • Gets a 100% critical strike chance quite early.
  • He has great lane sustain.
  • He is very mobile and can dash through walls.
  • He is one of the strongest split-pushers in the game.
  • He scales well into the late game.
  • He has high damage output.
  • He can dive under a turret pretty easily.

Tryndamere is strongest against

  • Kayle
  • Cho’Gath
  • Illaoi
  • Garen
  • Jax

Tryndamere is weakest against

  • Akali
  • Teemo
  • Quinn
  • Poppy
  • Heimerdinger

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Tryndamere/LoL

4. Veigar

VEIGAR MONTAGE 2022 - GOD PLAYS

We have another Yordle on the list and yes it is none other than Veigar. Veigar is a special champion in the sense that he can gain infinite amounts of ability power due to his passive. Veigar is a scaling champion and very scary in the late game. He is a bit like Nasus except that he has a lot more burst damage.

Veigar can nuke his opponents easily and his W gives him a stun which can be used as an escape as well as engage tool. His R is basically an execute. To play Veigar effectively, you must abuse his passive and Q to gain as much AP as possible and that’s it, you will be a late-game monster.

Veigar is fairly squishy so you must know how to position yourself well. Veigar is played both in the mid-lane and as an AP support.

Veigar is very strong because

  • Infinite ability power
  • Crowd control
  • Late game scaling
  • Huge burst damage and an execute
  • Is very evil

Veigar is strongest against

  • Neeko
  • Ryze
  • Akali
  • Malzahar
  • Zoe

Veigar is weakest against

  • Fizz
  • Zed
  • Yasuo
  • Lux
  • Diana

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Veigar/LoL

3. Yasuo

YASUO MONTAGE 2022 - PERFECT

Yasuo is also on the most hated champions list. That is basically for 2 reasons. First, a Yasuo will just destroy your whole team if fed. And secondly, a bad Yasuo will keep feeding the enemy team till you lose. Yasuo’s kit is flashy and cool but he is really hard to master. Most Yasuo’s in lower elo don’t know how to play him and rely on button mashing.

With that being said, if mastered, Yasuo is a very strong champion. He has a lot of mobility in his kit. He gets a 100% critical strike chance pretty early on. His W is windwall which absorbs all projectiles in the game.

Yasuo is an ultra-strong hypercarry because

  • Consistent high damage
  • A spam-able Q
  • W blocks everything
  • Has high mobility with E
  • Gets a shield with his passive
  • His 3rd Q is a knock up and you can combine it with his ultimate to cause huge damage

Yasuo is strongest against

  • Karthus
  • Ahri
  • Kassadin
  • Twisted Fate
  • Ziggs

Yasuo is weakest against

  • Viktor
  • Qiyana
  • Zed
  • Annie
  • Leblanc

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Yasuo/LoL

2. Master Yi

MASTER YI MONTAGE 2022 - PERFECT

Master Yi is one of the scariest champions in League of Legends when fed. He is a hypercarry with super-strong late game. Master Yi can turret dive pretty easily and dodge most of the enemy abilities. He has sustain built in his kit and can also do true damage with his E.

Master Yi mostly plays in the jungle where he keeps on farming till he hits a higher level and gets his first 2 or 3 items. After you have 2 or 3 items, you really start snowballing. The process gets much easier if you get a few early kills. Once you’re in the late game and have farmed fairly well, you can make a lot of impact on the game.

Master Yi is an auto-attack-based champion and is susceptible to CC. If he falls behind early on, the late game will be difficult so it requires a fair bit of game knowledge and correct jungle pathing to be an effective Yi.

Here’s why we think Master Yi is super strong

  • Hypercarry.
  • Dodges everything with Q.
  • R gives him movement and attack speed and resets on kills.
  • Deals true damage.
  • Deletes champions in a matter of seconds.
  • Scales extremely well into the late game

Master Yi is strongest against

  • Twitch
  • Karthus
  • Trundle
  • Kindered
  • Lillia

Master Yi is worst against

  • Kha’zix
  • Elise
  • Rek’Sai
  • Jax
  • Rengar

It all depends on how well you play the early game.

https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Master_Yi/LoL

1. Zed

ZED MONTAGE 2022 - ONE SHOT

Zed is one of the coolest and most skilled League of Legends champions. Zed’s high outplay potential and flashy abilities make him a fan favourite. He can make shadows that clone his abilities. Zed is played in the mid-lane as an AD assassin. Zed relies on skillshots for damage so you must be good at skillshots in order to play him well.

Once you hit level 6, you can kill most opponents with Zed. Zed has no mana issues since he relies on energy. He also has high mobility and can dash in and out of fights.

In the late game, Zed is either played as a split-pusher or in team fights where his main job is to delete the enemy AD carry. A good Zed can also win against multiple enemies while split-pushing.

Here is why we think Zed is amazing

  • High damage output.
  • Good ganking potential.
  • High mobility.
  • Good team fighter.
  • High outplay potential.
  • He can dodge skillshots by exchanging positions with his shadows.
  • He’s a freakin ninja!

Zed is strongest against

  • Katarina
  • Xerath
  • Ziggs
  • Twisted Fate
  • Veigar

Zed is weakest against

  • Fizz
  • Irelia
  • Nocturne
  • Ekko
  • Sylas
