The 6.1 update in the game has caused massive changes that have come into the game, including to DPS jobs. In this article, we will list out some of the best DPS jobs in the latest patch.

 

7. Bard

Bard, the one who sings beautiful tunes to boost their party’s damage.

Bard is a physical ranged DPS that is introduced as early as the game’s foundries, and still stays strong until now.

Why Bard is great:

  • Big DPS after the Endwalker era changes.
  • Can increase the damage of their party members by playing their songs.
  • Large AoE damage, ideal for dungeons.
  • Large party mitigations that can help the party take less damage.
  • Battle Voice, a Bard skill, allows Bards to increase the damage of their party members by 20%.
  • The Wanderer's Minuet and other bard songs have also seen many changes in Endwalker, with them now being able to stay in the party with Warrior and still be useful.
  • Radiant Finale is another new Bard skill that allows Bards to increase the damage dealt by themselves and their party members.
  • Blast Arrow allows a Bard to deal more AoE damage in dungeons, raids, and trials with add phases, allowing them to clear these parts faster.

Dragoon is another job that has been introduced in the starting of the game, but it truly shines on the first expansion of the game, Heavensward.

Why Dragoon is great:

  • DPS is high in both AoE and single target damage.
  • Has the ability to jump near or far away from enemies in an instant.
  • Shiny, flashy abilities that make use of the dragon's power.
  • Buffs and mitigations for a single party member as well as for the entire party.
  • SpineShatter Dive now has two charges, allowing a Dragoon to weave in more oGCDs between each GCD.
  • Dragonfire Dive has also been updated with a 300 potency, allowing them to deal more damage to their enemies.

  • There are numerous buffs that can increase one's damage to enemies. Some of these buffs are: Brotherhood ability.
  • Brotherhood increases a Monk's damage as well as the damage of their party members.
  • Monks can now have two stacks of Perfect Balance, allowing them to use their most damaging DPS skills without first completing their previous combo.
  • For 20 seconds, Monks can use Riddle of Fire to increase their own Damage Output by 15%.
  • Rising Phoenix is a new Monk skill that deals massive damage to enemies with 700 potency and is also an AoE damage, making it useful for both bosses and mobs.
  • Phantom Rush is a new skill that has a high damage output (over 1k) and can deal massive damage to the boss

4. Ninja

Ninja, just like the other previous three battle jobs in this list, is a battle job available since A Realm Reborn era.

  • Why Ninja is great:
  • Significant damage output
  • There are numerous buffs that can increase their damage as well as the damage of their party members.
  • Ninjutsu provides variety, making the job feel challenging and never boring.
  • Shukuchi enables a Ninja to instantly move away from red AoE puddles or get close to a boss.
  • Fleeting Raiju and Forked Raju, both new Endwalker skills, allow a Ninja to deal massive damage to enemies in between combos.
  • Another new Ninja skill, Hollow Nozuchi, increases the effectiveness of Doton, their passive AoE damage skill, and allows Doton to deal more damage to enemies caught in the earth puddle.
  • Phantom Kamaitachi, another new Ninja skill, allows Ninjas to deal massive AoE damage to both mobs and bosses with 600 potency.

3. Red Mage

Red Mage, the master of spells and swords both.

Red Mage is a Caster introduced in the Stormblood era. They are very powerful mages who control both melee combos and spell combos.

Why Red Mage is great:

  • Large damage output for both single target and AoE damage.
  • Dualcast enables them to cast their second spell instantly every time, making them a very mobile mage.
  • Their melee combos are also impressive and potent.
  • Has resurrection, which, when combined with their dualcast, allows them to resurrect their entire party in seconds.
  • Their melee combos now include AoE melee combos as well as single target combos. Red Mages can now deal even more damage in dungeons.
  • Displacement and Engagement now deal the same amount of damage, allowing a Red Mage to avoid backflipping in dangerous situations while still dealing the same amount of damage.
  • They now have two stacks of Acceleration, and the skill has been modified to allow them to instacast their most powerful spells. This enables a Red Mage to deal more damage to both mobs and bosses.
  • Their Melee Combo now requires 50 black and white Mana rather than 80, allowing them to deal more Melee Combos and thus deal more damage to the enemies.

Reaper is the newest melee battle job introduced in the Endwalker era.

Why Reaper is great:

  • Large damage output for both single target and AoE damage.
  • In comparison to other melee battle jobs, it has a simple and straightforward combo.
  • Flashy, dark abilities that appear cool and menacing.
  • Hell's Ingress and Hell's Egress allow a Reaper to quickly rush into and out of the enemies' range, as well as gain an instant-execution skill, Harpe.
  • They can also use Regress to quickly teleport back to their previous location before using Hell's Ingress or Egress, allowing them to move in and out without having to wait for the skill's cooldown.

1. Summoner

Summoner, the job that gets the most revamping in the Endwalker era.

Summoner is another job in this list that has been available since A Realm Reborn. However, they received a great change in the latest expansion, and making them almost feels like an entirely new job by itself.

Why Summoner is great:

  • Large damage output for both single target and AoE damage.
  • As a Caster, he has a simple and straightforward combo.
  • Is a Caster who can move around the arena without needing to cast most of their spells.
  • They can summon flashy summons to help them defeat the boss and heal their party members.
  • Summoners can now summon all of their pets without selecting them. In fact, summoning all of their summons is part of their rotation.
  • Ifrit deals massive damage to the boss while also allowing a Summoner to easily rush in to the boss, allowing them to quickly move away from dangerous AoE puddles.
  • Titan, unlike Ifrit, allows a Summoner to deal insane damage that does not require casting. It is also a significant AoE attack.
  • The master of AoEs, Garuda, deals massive damage to both mobs and bosses and can also leave a puddle of air damage behind, allowing a Summoner to deal DoT.
  • Summoner's most powerful summon, Bahamut, allows a Summoner to deal insane damage to the boss without the need to cast anything on top of that, allowing them to move freely and weave in some oGCDs.
  • The Phoenix phase allows a Summoner to assist in increasing the party's damage and healing, making the healer's job much easier.
