Li Li Stormstout, known also as Li Li the Wild Dog, is a pandorian who spent her early days living an ordinary life. If it weren't for her uncle's letters, she might never have set sail for adventure. Today, she is still a novice explorer but an expert at pestering any adventurer.

Li Li is a ranged healer with a high amount of sustain healing and single-target healing. She is one of the easiest heroes to play, because, in certain leagues, her healing can be based on spamming her main abilities. Her blind ability will help new players learn how to peel a bit.

Of all of the support heroes, Zarya is the easiest one, but she is nowhere near easy. If any new player decides on this role, then Zarya should be his choice. She combines protective tools with strong offensive capabilities and has a unique basic attack. The main disadvantage for new players is that playing Zarya necessitates predicting, timing, and a bit of skill-shooting.

At first glance, Raynor seems like... Yet over time, you come to see him as a valuable ally and — dare I say it? — a friend. ”

You have yet to meet the marshal, and boy, what a story he has.

Raynor is a ranged assassin who utilizes his long-range basic attack and abilities to fight foes from a safe distance. Along with his straightforward skills and mechanics, he is a great choice for starters. With time, as the new player gets a grip on map awareness and positioning, Raynor can become a great hero.

I heard, I heard, across a moonlit sea,

The old voice warning me:

"Beware, beware the Daughter of the Sea,

Beware, beware… of me. "

     -Jaina Proudmore

And truly beware of the power she holds. Do not let her noble soul fall prey to the darkness of the Nexus, and, with it, fulfill the prophecy of Krasus.

Jaina is a complicated ranged assassin, but don't let that worry you. Yes, she is fragile and requires precise positioning and shooting, but she is one of the best heroes to learn how to play.  Surely you won't reach her full potential, but you will meet the game through her, with her massive self-peel. And besides, spamming her abilities will give your allies unintentional help.

10. The Butcher

The Butcher is one of the many demonic creatures that roam the earth. But it was from those many that the Butcher gained his strength. He is made from parts of others, hence such pain, hence such power and hatred.

Yet another not-so-easy-to-master but easy-to-play type of hero. His mechanics are straightforward, as are his abilities. The  Butcher should attempt to finish the quest portion of Fresh Meat as quickly as feasible in the opening stages of the game. His powers surge dramatically as a result of the completed quest. His main opponents are crowd control and focused fire.

Butcher is an exceptional hero for the reasons below:

  • Outstanding self-sustain and an ability to replenish his lost health almost in an instant

11. Johanna

I am searching for an apprentice. Someone to train in the art of righteous warfare. Someone to carry my shield, my name, and my crusade after I fall in battle. Not everyone is suited for this life. The Crusade is a heavy burden, but someone has to carry it. My name is Johanna. I am searching for an apprentice...Interested?"

Johanna is one of the most resilient heroes in the Nexus. She can perform many crowd-control moves with her blinding and stunning abilities. Johanna can fit into any composition and is designed to cause chaos among enemy lines. This crusader is a real gem in the game, with apparently no realistic counter.

  • To try on the tank role

12. Varian

The missing majesty has seen much through his life, more than ordinary men. Perhaps it is the darkness he saw that lost him. He was lost, and now he is found. Varian, the King of Stormwind is in the center of the Nexus.

In HotS, Varian is a particularly interesting hero who can play three different roles, despite his designated role being a melee bruiser. The choice is made by the player when picking level 4 talent. He has a basic kit of abilities that involves a ranged attack, a defensive one, and an engage/dive ability.

Now for those unpersuaded more of Varian's strengths:

Lord Uther the Lightbringer was the first of the five paladins of the Knights of the Silver Hand. He has charged alongside his brethren many times to battle, defeating countless foes. Now Uther stands before his greatest of battles, he stands before the Nexus.

Uther is a melee healer with a decent health pool, good defensive abilities, and healing effects. His single-target burst healing and solid crowd control are his finest qualities, but his mana requirements make him unsuitable for prolonged team fights.
