[Top 10] Genshin Impact Best Electro Characters (Ranked)

Raiden Shogun, the God of Eternity
The God of Electro in her ultimate form, probably still can't cook

This is the element that embodies the saying “death by a thousand cuts”. Electro units are quick and sharp; they’ll land a dozen hits on you before you can even react. They can also be identified by their skills related to ER or particle generation. With the recent release of dendro and its amazing synergy with electro, this is the perfect time to pull up this list.

Read along to find out the best electro characters in the game so far (Patch 3.2). Take note that by “best”, we mean to evaluate the character as a whole, not just for combat and utility but also when it comes to characterization, style, and impact in the game. Also keep in mind that these characters are judged at C0 to measure combat prowess fairly.

10. Traveler (Sub-DPS/Support)

The biggest mystery of the game, where do they come from?

This is probably the most underappreciated unit in the game. We owe it to the fact that we all have them in our team as the very first unit we obtain. Whether you like this character or not, you kind of have no choice as literally every cutscene features them (and Paimon).

The Traveler needs no introduction, whether it’s Aether or Lumine, these twins are bound for a perilous journey to travel across Teyvat and interact with all the elements and archons. It’s a noticeable pattern that the Traveler always embodies the essentials of the elements they use, such as crowd control for anemo and solid structures for geo. Their electro kit isn't exactly S-tier but works well enough to grab a spot on our list.

Combat

Casting their elemental skill summons electro-powered blades, and hitting enemies results in abundance amulets. Any character can be used to pick up these amulets to restore energy and increase ER for some time.

Their burst pushes enemies upon casting and grants periodic electro strikes in addition to normal attacks. If these electro attacks hit enemies, energy will be restored for the on-field character.

Analysis

One of the better versions of the Traveler, their ER-centered kit is great for teams with high burst costs. Their non discriminating kit can supply energy to any element, a strength that only the Electro Archon specializes in as of now. Don’t expect too much damage if you're going for a full support build, but the bright side is that your carries can focus on getting those crit and damage stats knowing that they have this battery behind them.

Pros of using Electro Traveler?

  • Investing in their level is a good long-term investment because you will eventually unlock more elements.
  • This is a free unit.
  • Arguably one of the best flexible batteries in the game.

Cons of using Electro Traveler?

  • Gameplay revolving around picking up the Abundance Amulets can feel clunky at times.
  • Damage output is just decent.
  • Can still be beaten by some 4 stars when it comes to value and utility.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Apply consistent electro.
  • Finally utilize the main character.
  • Get ER for your entire team.
  • Electro Traveler Power Rating: 70/100

9. Razor (DPS)

He fights with the instincts of a wolf and sword mastery of a human

Is he more human? Or more wolf? It doesn't really matter because this character is loved all the same. One of the very few physical attack centered characters, this guy reaps the benefits from all the Gladiator’s Finale pieces that we have in stock.

Growing up as an orphan and being raised by a pack of wolves, Razor brings ferocity and primal instincts to the game. High speed and large swings define his playstyle. Razor loves it when he’s the main unit on the field, and he will fight hard for you if you let him loose.

Combat

As a physical DPS, Razor’s focus is on spamming his normal attacks as much as possible. His skill slashes the area in front of him, and the hold version of it slams the ground to generate energy for himself. His burst is similar to a berserker mode, where he gains a ton of attack speed and summons a wolf spirit to fight alongside him.

Analysis

One of the reliable DPS characters when the game first came out. Razor still packs a punch even with all the new content through the years, though we can’t really say that he’s still dominating our team compositions.

His playstyle is entertaining, but it can become monotonous. It also doesn't help that superconduct is basically the only reaction you would want to trigger to maximize his damage. Overall, his value is still there, but only if you want it.

Pros of using Razor?

  • High speed slasher playstyle.
  • Can generate his own energy easily to keep up his burst.
  • It’s canon that he was personally trained by Grand Master Varka himself in combat.

Cons of using Razor?

  • Will always need a cryo support for superconduct.
  • Finds difficulty in dealing with enemies with high resistances.
  • Without his burst, Razor’s attacks are annoyingly slow.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Go feral on your enemies.
  • Deal a lot of damage with little setup.
  • Fight along with your giant electro wolf spirit.

8. Kujou Sara(Sub-DPS/Support)

Nobody is more devoted to the Shogun than Sara

A feared General across the land of Inazuma. She bears the name of one of the most powerful clans. Trust that the unlawful will be punished and the law of the Shogun will be upheld with her around.

Heading straight into battle with her bow is General Kujou Sara. This Tengu has one of the most beautiful designs in the game. Watch her spread her wings while bringing down the might of electro on you.

Combat

Sara’s skill has her blinking backwards while empowering her bow; shooting a charged attack and standing in its AoE will provide the on-field unit an ATK boost based on Sara’s base ATK. Her burst calls forth lightning from the heavens, which spreads outward.

Analysis

Sara is definitely one of the best buffers in the game. You can achieve those high damage screenshots with her around, but don’t expect too much when it comes to consistency.

Pros of using Sara?

  • ATK boost is second only to Bennett.
  • Skill can be used to evade enemy attacks.
  • Passive allows the entire team to gain energy.

Cons of using Sara?

  • Using her skill feels clunky.
  • ATK boost only lasts a few seconds.
  • Without a fellow electro character on the team, dealing with the high burst cost is difficult.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Greatly amplify the damage of your electro DPS.
  • Bring down giant AoE lightning from the skies.
  • Blink backwards to confuse your foes.

7. Kuki Shinobu (Sub-DPS/Support)

She left her written path for a life of fun and adventure with the gang

If this list was made before the release of dendro, she would've been dead bottom of it. It made no sense that she scaled with HP and EM at the time, and there were many other units that could do her role better. Now, she’s making her way up, and we’re all finally appreciating her value.

Kuki Shinobu of the Arataki Gang is here. The deputy leader takes care of all your needs, whether it's healing or triggering hyperblooms. She’s versatile enough that you can build her in a multitude of ways.

Combat

Her skill creates a ring that pulses periodically, dealing electro damage and healing the unit on-field. Kuki’s burst sprouts a stream of electro energy from the ground at high speed.

Analysis

She’s one of the must have units for hyperbloom teams. Her skill is just so good at triggering dendro cores, it almost has 0 downtime, and you can get healed while you’re at it. Overall, her value really skyrocketed with dendro and now we see why her scaling was made that way in the first place.

Pros of using Kuki?

  • Amazing electro application.
  • Building EM also boosts her healing.
  • She is easy and flexible to build.

Cons of using Kuki?

  • Her skill costs a chunk of HP to be cast.
  • Burst damage is considerably low.
  • You have to be extra careful when using her against rifthounds.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Pop those hyperblooms with no problem.
  • Shred enemy shields with your burst.
  • Have your damage dealer and healer in one slot.

6. Yae Miko (Sub-DPS/Support)

You'll never find anyone as mysterious and cunning

A mysterious fox spirit that has caught our eyes ever since she was teased. Beauty and grace come naturally to her; you can tell that she always has something up her sleeve. Eternity is fortunate to have a cunning servant such as her.

Yae Miko, the Head Priestess of the Narukami Shrine, takes a divine spot on our list. Her mischievous ways can be seen when playing her. You better bring a hardworking DPS as you can be sure that Yae Miko will leave all the lifting to her totems.

Combat

Her skill is the core of her kit. Yae Miko summons up to three electro totems that remain on the field and attack her enemies on a regular basis. Her burst summons the power of the kitsune to bring forth a lightning strike that can be further amplified when cast on her existing totems.

Analysis

She’s as chill as it can get. Just drop off your totems and switch to another character, seems easy enough, right? The issue here is that you’ll have to refresh your totems every now and then, and her animation for this is kind of slow. You’re going to find it really easy to use her but over time she gets old, especially with the repetitive voice lines.

Pros of using Yae Miko?

  • Excellent electro application.
  • The character design is excellent.
  • Taking down enemies with her burst is so satisfying.

Cons of using Yae Miko?

  • Her voice lines when casting her skill quickly become irritating.
  • Burst has a high energy cost.
  • Electro totems don’t always hit the enemy you want to prioritize.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Let your totems do all the fighting for you.
  • Harness the power of the fox.
  • Whip your enemies down with her flashy normal attack.

Yae Miko Power Rating: 87/100

5. Beidou (DPS/Sub-DPS/Support)

This world renowned sailor has seen it all

All in Liyue are weary of her feats. Even the Liyue Qixing are aware of her capabilities and show her the utmost respect. She’s no ordinary pirate, and her crew is always open to strays looking for shelter (if you can take it).

The Uncrowned Lord of the Seas rightfully earned her title. Beidou is no stranger to braving rough storms and taking down evil monsters. You can be assured that she’ll always be there to back up your team.

Combat

Beidou’s skill is widely known due to its unique properties, she lifts her claymore like a shield to absorb all incoming damage before sending it all back tenfold. Perfectly timing this performs a cool counter that instantly reflects incoming damage without needing to charge up.

Her burst summons monstrous strength and creates a ring around the character that emits chain lightning every time a normal attack hits. This also provides a bit of resistance to further help you out.

Analysis

Beidou is an extremely versatile character. She can carry your team as a DPS or help out on the side as an electro applicator or battery. Whatever her playstyle, she can still make good use of her perfect counter to make enemies regret taking her on in the first place.

Pros of using Beidou?

  • Perfect counter!
  • Empowers teammates through her burst.
  • Unleashing a fully charged skill buffs Beidou’s normal attacks.

Cons of using Beidou?

  • High burst energy cost.
  • Balancing ER, Crit, and ATK stats can be a rough task.
  • Skill only protects Beidou while it is held.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Slap back at your aggressive enemies.
  • Slash wildly at your enemies with her charged attack.
  • Use her chain lightning to punish enemy groups.

Beidou Power Rating: 88/100

4. Cyno (DPS)

The General's justice does not discriminate

One of the coolest character designs that Sumeru has offered so far. This unit takes transformations to the next level. Similar to Razor, this guy also slashes his opponents with giant claws, but he just does it better.

The General Mahamatra absolutely deserves a spot on our list. Cyno strikes fear into every researcher in the Akademiya and for good reason. No crime will be left unchecked with this Matra around.

Combat

Cyno’s skill thrusts towards his enemies with electro. His burst unleashes the power of a spirit to transform him into a fighting machine. His normal attacks, along with his EM and resistance, are greatly enhanced at this time.He slams the ground with electro and extends the duration of his transformation by using his skill at the right time.

Analysis

He’s one of those units that takes some time to prepare but goes all out once properly set-up. Cyno was definitely made to work alongside a dendro support. You can use an electro-battery to reduce your burst cost and possibly a shielder to avoid being thrown around in burst mode despite your increased resistance.

Pros of using Cyno?

  • Burst can be extended for a good amount.
  • Perfectly timing your enhanced skill feels great.
  • Benefits greatly from EM boosting allies.

Cons of using Cyno?

  • Burst resistance is weak compared to other units that transform.
  • Balancing ATK, ER, EM, and CRIT stats is a tedious task.
  • Generally weak without his burst.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Punish your enemies with your giant claws.
  • Get the most out of aggravate.
  • Show Razor how a 5 star does it.

3. Keqing (DPS)

With sword comes shadow

This unit embodies speed and precision. She was a favorite among some fans during the early months of Genshin but slowly dwindled away with the rise of newer and more exciting DPS characters.

The Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing is proud and wise. Keqing shoots right up our list, as the arrival of dendro reactions was probably the most generous to her among all characters. She slices and dices across the battlefield with her sword while still performing her duties to Liyue.

Combat

Keqing's skill throws a stiletto, which she can teleport to before striking or explode with a charged attack. When she chooses to teleport, her weapon gains electro infusion.

Her burst has her slashing around the place in a large AoE. Her final slash is enhanced, and Keqing can get an extra 15% to CRIT Rate and ER thanks to her passive.

Analysis

There is an entire community out there devoted entirely to Keqing, I’m sure they’re having a blast right now due to her huge power spike. Using her for aggravate just tears down bosses as long as you have enough dendro application. Try pairing her with Nahida and thank me later.

Pros of using Keqing?

  • Can go physical or electro.
  • One of the few characters in the game who can be customized with skins.
  • Really easy to build.

Cons of using Keqing?

  • Damage is just decent without the use of aggravate.
  • Takes a lot of presses/clicks before an enemy is defeated because of her playstyle.
  • Needs to be on-field to provide value.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Zigzag across the screen like Minato.
  • Teleport across difficult terrain/obstacles.
  • Buff your own Crit Rate.

2. Fischl (DPS/Sub-DPS/Support)

The princess sees all through the eyes of her raven

This next unit is more ofa "2 for 1" deal. She and her companion have been wreaking havoc from Mondstadt to Sumeru. As if she wasn’t strong enough, dendro reactions gave her a wicked buff that maximizes her kit to its full potential.

Amy… I mean Fischl, takes our top 2 spot. She maneuvers past some really good 5-star units, all thanks to her great damage and utility. Enter the Midnight Phantasmagoria and witness the Prinzessin der Verurteilung.

Combat

Her skill summons Oz to the field and smite her foes with electro for a duration. Using her burst combines them into one, gliding around the field and refreshing Oz’s stay on the field after.

Analysis

She was broken and now she’s even more broken. Oz's attacks are great, but her passive, which deals electro damage every time a reaction occurs, has become even more lethal with the multiple times you can trigger spread or aggravate. Build her the traditional way or stack her with EM, it doesn’t matter, she’ll take down anyone in her sights.

Pros of using Fischl?

  • Rapid electro application.
  • You get a talking bird.
  • Repositioning Oz is easy.

Cons of using Fischl?

  • Actual burst damage is weak.
  • Takes her time with groups of enemies when used as a DPS.
  • Switching to her and having Oz on cooldown can be frustrating.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • Watch Oz do all the work or spray arrows on-field.
  • Fly around your enemies with her burst.
  • See a support overpower a DPS.

1. Raiden Shogun(DPS/Sub-DPS/Support)

The Almighty Shogun delivers her eternal paradise to the people as promised

What can I say? The queen sits atop her kingdom. She takes the cake when it comes to design, combat, and overall coolness.

The God of Eternity, Raiden Shogun, graces our list’s top spot, as she should. A seasoned warrior that cuts through enemies with her polearm and slashes whole islands with her legendary katana. Get on her bad side, and nothing will save you from the Musou no Hitotachi.

Combat

Raiden’s skill casts electro in front of her and summons an eye that deals electro damage every time you hit an enemy, this can last for a really long time. Her burst is the icing on the cake; she draws her katana and performs a godly slash, vanquishing her foes and granting her the ability to take out the survivors for a limited time. This also generates energy for the entire team.

Analysis

If you don’t have her in your account, then you, my friend, are missing out big time. She’s the ultimate embodiment of electro, and you can feel it in her gameplay. There is also no better satisfaction than hitting enemies with a fully charged burst.

Pros of using Raiden?

  • Beautiful design is amplified by the chakra ring around her back.
  • Sword or spear, the choice is yours.
  • Generate mass amounts of energy for the entire team.

Cons of using Raiden?

  • Needs teammates with high energy costs.
  • Skill can’t trigger against enemy shields.
  • Burst only lasts for a few seconds.

Use This Character If You Want To

  • One-hit enemies with your OP burst.
  • Feel the might of a warrior God.
  • Apply electro wherever you attack.
