GTA 5 is an amazing game, it gets better when you have friends to play with. Mods and playing GTA online with friends are the main reasons people opt for this open-world masterpiece. The problem arises when your ID is banned for using mods while playing GTA online, so how do you tackle this issue?

It’s quite simple; Rockstar doesn’t allow mods on their online platform and it’s quite understandable. Fortunately, you can create ‘friends’ of your own through mods in story mode by bodyguard mods. Let’s take a look at the top 10 best bodyguard mods in GTA 5.

10. OpenIV menu

Although it’s not a mod, it comes with Scripthook – a software that’s needed to install mods so you’re going to have it anyway. The OpenIV menu provides you with a set of basic mods to get you started in modding GTA 5. In the menu, it includes spawning characters that will follow you anywhere you go as your bodyguards. Stay alert though, because these bodyguards are just for show and won’t do any worthwhile protection.

This dedicated bodyguard mod provides you with a menu and the freedom to order them around. You can send your bodyguards to do the dirty work for you and you won’t gain a wanted level.

Don’t count on your bodyguards to have large health bars if you choose regular pedestrians or characters as your bodyguards.

If you like a whole squad of bodyguards then you should definitely opt for the Bodyguard Squads 1.0 mod menu. This mod allows up to 8 bodyguards for you at any given time in a game. Just like the OpenIV menu mod, the enhanced native trainer is another script menu. It’s not a bodyguard mod per se, but it includes adding characters and making them follow you, so they can act as bodyguards. Through numerous other features in the enhanced native trainer, you can be your own bodyguard and use the random character spawning bodyguards as your body shields.

The most stable of the trainers is the PC trainer V, it provides you with numerous bodyguards (or body shields may I say) without the game crashing. The other trainers do not put a limit on spawning bodyguards and that can cause your PC to crash, if you don’t have the processing power to support it. The PC trainer V is your best choice if you want the mod to prevent crashing the game.

Remember the ‘Fannymagnet’ cheat from GTA Vice City? Well, this mod is created in essence of that classic cheat from that classic game. When you apply this mod, all the hotties of San Andreas start following you like a deodorant commercial. Not only will they follow you, but they will tear bone and limb of people who try to harm you. Speaking of the army, why not get the ACTUAL in-game army to be your bodyguards? The personal army mod does exactly what it implies; provides you with an army of your own, so the police (or anyone for that matter) doesn’t even touch you, or they end up with a pretty mutilated body if they do.

Just when you think modders have touched the limit with their creations in GTA 5, you get things like this that make you rethink your assumption. Be the president of the world with the president mod! Obviously, the president of the world needs bodyguards and you will get them dear mister president! The president is immune to wanted levels but it’s still nice to have a few suits follow you around and make sure not even a fly sits on you.

All the mods previously had regular bodyguards that can be shot done quite easily. The invincible bodyguards mod doesn’t spam your bodyguards with God mode, oh no no… Your bodyguards are not only untouchable, they are equipped with rail guns so that anyone even THINKS of touching you – gets 1000 new holes in a span of 3 seconds.

If you’re an old school GTA player, you’d want Groove Street OGs as your bodyguards instead of random pedestrians and army bodyguards. With the gang mod, you can join any gang you want in Los Santos. When you are part of a gang, the members have your back through thick and thin. They will follow you around and help you cause mayhem around the city.
