8) AC/DC

AC/DC Pickaxe

The AC/DC pickaxe is a unique-looking pickaxe with a forking rod with two metal balls at the tip – creating an electric current.

• The AC/DC pickaxe is the very first pickaxe to feature an animation. The electrical current moving along the rod is continuous, even while playing.
• The AC/DC was only available for the very first battle pass in Season 2, making it quite an exclusive and rare pickaxe.
• The downside of the AC/DC pickaxe is that it’s the loudest pickaxe in the game, sometimes causing annoyance to its user.

The AC/DC pickaxe can only be obtained from reaching tier 63 in the paid battle pass of Season 2.

The Trusty No. 2 pickaxe features a unique looking pick with a number 2 pencil, the most common type of pencil in the USA, sticking out from one of the blades. This pickaxe skin is a direct reference to the film John Wick, in which the main protagonist killed a couple of guys with a pencil.

• The Trusty No. 2 pickaxe is quite small and compact, giving its user a better view of their environment.
• The hype of the John Wick skin made Trusty No. 2 one of the most popular and desired pickaxe due to its connection with the John Wick character.

The Trusty No. 2 can only be obtained from reaching tier 79 in the paid battle pass of Season 3.

5) Rainbow Smash

• The Rainbow Smash has been featured in the Item Shop nine times, making it a frequently owned pickaxe and diminishing its exclusivity.

4) Pointer

The Pointer pickaxe features a rod-like contraption with an orange metal crooked arrow pointing to the side.

• The Pointer pickaxe is one of the most exclusive pickaxes for it can only be obtained in China. Due to its difficulty to obtain, it will essentially never be seen outside the Chinese servers.
• Some have referred to this pickaxe as the “click-bait pickaxe” due to its shape.

The Pointer pickaxe can only be obtained by playing the game in the China region, then signing up for a QQ account and playing Fortnite through WeGame. 

3) Raider's Revenge

The Raider’s Revenge is an apocalyptic-themed pickaxe skin that features a pickaxe’s head tied with a rusty barbed wire to the top of a fireman’s axe.

• This is one of the most exclusive pickaxes in the game, for it was only featured in Season 1 before Fortnite had its burst of popularity and fewer people played the game. Only players that have played the game from the very beginning will have this pickaxe.
• The sound of the Raider’s Revenge pickaxe resembles a clattering of rusted metal, giving it a unique sound which no other pickaxe emulates.

The Raider’s Revenge pickaxe can only be obtained through reaching tier 35 in Season 1 and then paying 1,500 V-Bucks. It will never be featured in the Item Shop, making it one of the most rare pickaxes in the game.

• It has been featured in the Item Shop 7 times, making it not a highly exclusive pickaxe.

The Studded Axe pickaxe can only be obtained by purchasing it in the Item Shop for 800 V-Bucks.

• The Crowbar pickaxe is the smallest pickaxe in the game, allowing the user to have an optimal view of their environment.
• The Crowbar pickaxe is quite exclusive due to the challenges need to obtain it.
• The sound of each swing of the Crowbar pickaxe resembles a smooth metallic swoosh, making a quite satisfying noise for the user.

The Crowbar pickaxe can only be obtained by completing three specific challenges during the limited time mode Get Away. 1) Complete 10 matches of Get Away mode. 2) Deal 500 damage to jewel-carrying opponents. 3) Pick up a jewel in 5 different matches.
