[Top 5] 7 Days To Die Best Melee Weapons And How To Get Them

7 days to die melee weapons
Hey! Back off!

Prefer a more hands on approach?

Tired of having to find or craft ammo? Don’t worry about it. Melee weapons will always have your back. Besides, what fun is a zombie apocalypse without splitting open some heads!!

There are lots of different melee weapons in 7DTD. While all are fun to smash zombies with, some are more effective than others. Here’s a rundown of some of the best.

5. Baseball Bat

There's no crying in the Apocalypse!!

Don’t underestimate the power of a baseball bat!! Uses less stamina than other steel weapons and can be modded like crazy! Also, you don’t need a lot of resources to craft one.

  • Can be crafted after reading Baseball Bat Schematic and purchasing Level 1 of Pummel Pete
  • Craft using Forged Iron, Wood, Leather and Duct Tape
  • Vast number of mods to cause more damage, decrease weapon degradation rate or even stun

Crafting requirements:

  • 20 Forged Iron
  • 10 Wood
  • 1 Leather
  • 1 Duct Tape

4. Steel Spear

Don't make me use this!!

The Spear is one of those weapons with multiple uses. If you make one, make sure it is the steel spear. It works great in melee combat, but if you feel the need, you can use it as a ranged weapon and like the baseball bat, you can add countless mods to it.

  • Can be crafted at a Workbench after reading the Steel Spear Schematic
  • Increase damage and more with mods

Crafting requirements:

  • 5 Steel Spear Parts
  • 10 Forged Steel
  • 10 Wood
  • 3 Leather
  • 3 Duct Tape

3. Machete

This is a knife!!

It’s not just a tool, it can take off heads!! The machete really is a great all around tool. It is the most effective tool for harvesting resources from animals. No longer do you have to carry a weapon and a knife!! It’s also great for dismembering zombies (if you're into that kind of thing).

  • Can be modded
  • Can be crafted after reading Machete Schematic

Crafting requirements:

  • 5 Machete Parts
  • 10 Forged Steel
  • 10 Wood
  • 3 Leather
  • 3 Duct Tape

2. Steel Knuckles

Brass knuckles? HA!

Steel Knuckles has to be my favorite melee weapon. After a long day at work, what is better than ripping zombies apart with your bare hands. These knuckles don’t require a lot of resources

  • Can launch a power attack with a right mouse-click

Crafting requirements:

  • 5 Steel Knuckle Parts
  • 10 Forged Steel
  • 3 Leather
  • 3 Duct Tape

1. Steel Sledgehammer

Looking for the ultimate melee weapon?

Smashy smashy. The steel sledgehammer is both a tool and a weapon. You can do some serious damage to the blocks with it, just keep in mind it isn’t the best tool if you want to get the resources from the block. It is a powerful melee weapon and does the most damage in the game.

  • Can kill average zombie with one head blow
  • Chance of dismemberment
  • Can be crafted after reading Steel Sledgehammer schematic

Crafting Requirements:

  • 15 Steel Sledgehammer Parts
  • 10 Forged Steel
  • 10 Wood
  • 3 Leather
  • 3 Duct Tape
