[Top 5] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Rook Loadouts

Rainbow Six Siege Rook Loadouts
He may be a big target. But it’s hard to take down Siege's big boi.

Rook is one of the most recommended operators for beginners. Mostly because of his unique gadget and guns that are very easy to use. The fact that even if you die early in the game, your contribution to the team remains through the armor you gave them makes Rook such a great teamplayer. But don’t get the wrong idea. Rook isn’t just a beginner operator. He’s a pain to deal with when used by an experienced player as well.

5. SG-CQB with Vertical Grip and Laser + LFP586 + Impact Grenades

A Rook with a shotgun is like a tank

For handgun wizards. With this loadout, you’ll treat your handgun as your primary and have it at the ready most of the time while waiting for enemies to come. This handgun has high stopping power and heavy damage, and flick shots with it are deadly, so you can use it for strafing enemies at a distance, and when you feel them coming close to you or when you’re able to close the distance, proceed on jumping on them with the high-powered SG-CQB shotgun.

With the impact grenades, you can make rotation holes which is very important when defending in Siege, especially in bomb mode. But when you detect an Osa in the enemy team, make it a point to reserve at least one impact grenade on your person, because it’s the most effective counter to her shield.

Excels in:

  • Close to medium range

4. MP5 with 2.0x Scope, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip + P9 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Impact Grenades

The 2.0x really has a good aesthetic appeal

Rook may have a big frame, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be stealthy. With this loadout, you can shoot at enemies without giving away your position unless they get an actual visual of you. The suppressor is also great for anchoring because it doesn’t make a lot of sound while shooting, allowing you to still be able to hear other enemy footsteps in case some of them are flanking.

And with the 2.0x scope, you’ll be able to have a clear visual of your enemies as well as help with your crosshair placement.

Excels in:

  • Stealth
  • Medium to long range

3. SG-CQB with Vertical Grip + P9 with Suppressor + Impact Grenades

A rook anchoring with a shotgun is giving me a picture of a heavily defended fortress

With Rook’s 3 armor rating, if you use the choke points around the objective area while anchoring well, you’ll be able to cut off the distance from you and your enemies, and once you’re able to make it a close-range fight, your shotgun will have the superiority. Since you’re going to have the shotgun at the ready most of the time in this loadout, do not equip it with a laser. What you would want to do is use stealth to get close to your enemies and surprise them.

And the suppressed handgun will help with that, because you can shoot attacker drones with it with silence and without letting your enemies get a handle on your position.

Excels in:

  • Close range
  • Anchoring

2. P90 with 1.5x Scope and Extended Barrel + P9 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Impact Grenades

The P90 is seriously underrated

It has a more stable recoil than the MP5 and higher fire rate. The damage difference is also only 5. So the amount of hate the P90 gets is unjustified and you shouldn’t let anyone shame you for using it. The 1.5x scope, extended barrel, and the stable recoil makes the P90 arguably a better gun for spawn peeking and long-range shooting than the MP5.

Excels in:

  • Medium to long range

1. MP5 with 2.0x Scope, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip + P9 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Impact Grenades

Oftentimes, balance is the best.

This loadout offers the best balance among all loadouts when it comes to damage, recoil control, and range. The flash hider will give you the best recoil benefit for short burst firing, but because the MP5 inherently has low recoil anyway, you’ll still be able handle this gun well even with long sustained fire. The vertical grip will greatly help you with that as well. And with the 2.0x scope, you’ll have a clear view of your enemies as you’re shooting them, and that, partnered with good recoil control, will make it easier for you to make your headshots.

Excels in:

  • Medium to long range
  • anchoring
