[Top 10] Warframe Best Explosive Weapons That Are Powerful

Warframe Best Explosive Weapon
Bullets are boring.

Warframe, being a heavily action-based game, is just incomplete without some good explosions. You could probably kill a few enemies with rifles or pistols, but when you’re surrounded by a horde of enemies, nothing is as good as an explosive weapon. These weapons are certainly not very fast or resourceful but the damage they deal is worth the price.

Here are the top 10 best explosive weapons that Warframe has to offer.

10. Acceltra

The creaters were kind enough to be concerned about the user's safety.

Acceltra is an Automatic Rifle with an explosive projectile that deals damage in a small radius. It is the signature weapon of the Gauss warframe and has a unique feature that allows you to reload faster while sprinting. Reloading is even faster when equipped by Gauss.

  • Has high crit chance and multiplier.
  • Reloads faster while sprinting and has a high fire rate.
  • The projectile travels 7m before exploding for the safety of the user.

  • Fire Rate: 12
  • Reload: 2s
  • Crit chance, multiplier: 32%, 2.8x

9. Kuva Chakkhurr

Poor Grineers being hit by literal cannon shells.

Kuva Chakkhurr is a semi-auto rifle that uses sniper ammo to deal AoE damage. When the firepower of a sniper meets an explosive bullet, it hits hard like a truck. While being really slow, both in terms of reload speed and fire rate, it can still destroy elite warriors with one hit.

  • It has the highest base damage among semi-ARs.
  • 50% extra headshot damage.
  • Very high accuracy.
  • Very high crit chance and multiplier.

  • Fire Rate: 1.17
  • Reload: 3.3s
  • Crit chance, multiplier: 50%, 2.3x
  • Damage: 325
  • Explosion Damage: 132.5

Kuva Chakkhur, like any other Kuva weapon, can be obtained after defeating Kuva lich equipped with one.

8. Tombfinger

Is tombfinger the strongest kitgun?

Tombfinger is a kitgun that can be used both as primary and secondary weapons. But since we’re here for the best explosive weapon, it’d be best to use it as a primary weapon. Charge attack deals heavy damage but is slow, and spam attack deals faster and much weaker damage.

  • Explosion radius can scale from 1.7m-6.2m based on how long it’s charged.
  • Mainly deals radiation damage which is very good against Alloy armor and Robotics.

Stats for Kitguns can vary depending on other components.

  • It deals heat damage that is good against the Infested.

Primary Fire Stats:

6. Stahlta

Nobody is afraid of an average AR, until its damn too late.

For Stahlta, its primary fire is just a regular automatic rifle with decent stats. However, we’re here for its alt fire which basically nukes an area along with enemies in its vicinity. It’s got the highest critical chance among charge-up rifles, giving it a higher chance to lash out red crit damage. Just make sure that you don’t run out of ammo as it consumes 20 whole rounds.

  • Has the highest crit and status chance and the highest crit multiplier among charge-up rifles.
  • Despite being a heavy attack, it doesn’t have arcing projectile and doesn’t cause self-stagger.
  • Alt fire can deal up to 1800 total damage even without modifiers.

Stats for alternate fire:

  • Base damage: 600
  • Explosion damage: 1200
  • Crit chance/multiplier: 40%, 3x
  • Charge time: 1.6s
  • Reload: 1.4s

5. Kuva Bramma

Play survival mission, camp at a dead end, spam your weapon. Easy loot.

Kuva Bramma is unlike any other weapon in this list that ends with a big bang. Instead, it deposits cluster bombs after an explosion, dealing blast damage. Instead, this bow shoots arrows that explode to smaller cluster bombs which also explode after a certain delay. Initially, the arrow deals huge damage in a smaller AoE but the cluster bombs spread across the area, giving the weapon an overall large AoE. Initially, it deals damage only in a small AoE, but the cluster bombs spread across the area, giving it a larger AoE.

4. Lenz

It's fun to watch a bubbles freezing, until they start exploding.

Lenz is another bow on our list, but a bit different from the previous one. Initially, it creates a cryo bubble that deals very minimal damage. The bubble then explodes to deal massive blast damage after a delay. This bow isn’t the best for dealing with a single target, but it is definitely fun to annihilate large hordes of enemies.

  • It has the highest crit chance and second-highest base damage among all bows.
  • A direct hit from the projectile has a high chance to stagger enemies.
  • It combines damage from Cold status and Blast damage which is good against most enemies.

  • Base damage: 50
  • Impact damage: 10
  • Explosion damage: 660
  • Crit chance/multiplier: 50%, 2x
  • Charge speed: 1.2s

You can research Lenz blueprint from Energy Lab in Dojo.

3. Kuva Tonkor

Walls are the only indestructable things, but you don't need to destroy it to kill somebody behind it.

When you think of explosive weapons, it’s always either a grenade launcher or RPG. Kuva Tonkor is a grenade launcher that basically does what its title suggests. It launches an arcing grenade launcher which does heavy AoE damage. It can be used in defensive missions, wave clearing, or pretty much anything else.

  • It has a high critical chance and multiplier.
  • It is good against Fossilized and Machinery.
  • Explosions can penetrate through walls.
  • A direct hit can knock down enemies.

1. Kuva Ogris

Bazooka that launches not one, not two, but 3 whole rounds of missiles.

You can’t simply miss Kuva Ogris when it comes to explosive weapons. It’s nowhere near dealing the highest damage, but it’s not always about the kills.  It is a semi-automatic Rocket Launcher that fires up to 3 missiles at once. The explosion also goes through walls so there are no enemies that can take cover and hide.

  • It has an extremely high status chance and base damage.
