Genshin Impact Best Sub-DPS/ Support Swords

In Genshin Impact, one of the many ways to improve and strengthen your characters is to equip them with the right weapon. A character can be equipped with any weapon as long as that weapon is in the corresponding weapon type that the character can use.

This article will discuss the best weapons for Sub-DPS/ Support Sword Characters, which require fewer resources to be upgraded into their maximum potentials (F2P-friendly weapons for short). We will also tell you how to get those weapons.

5. Sacrificial Sword

Secondary Stat: Energy Recharge%

Special Effect: (Composed) After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30s.

Sacrificial Sword is great for Sub-DPS Characters that are reliant on their Elemental Skills. The Special Effect “Composed” gives the wielder a chance to end the Cooldown of his/ her Elemental Skill after he/ she deals damage to an enemy. With this Effect, the wielder can use the Elemental Skill 2 times successfully.

This Sword is better equipped to Characters with Elemental Skill that has a long Cooldown. One Example is Xingqiu. Xingqiu’s Elemental Skill has a long Cooldown. Waiting for the Cooldown can be tedious. But with this Sword, you can instantly end the Elemental Skill’s Cooldown by simply triggering the effect of “Composed”. The Energy Recharge Secondary Stat of this Sword is also great for Xingqiu. Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst requires a lot of Energy to activate, so this Sword helps recharge the Burst faster.

Where to get: Can be obtained by Wishing

4. Festering Desire

Festering Desire

Secondary Stat: Energy Recharge

Special Effect: (Undying Admiration) Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 16% and Elemental Skill CRIT Rate by 6%.

Undoubtedly, Festering Desire is one (if not the best) of the best Swords for Sub-DPS Characters. The Elemental Skill Damage increase is a huge boost for Elemental Skill-reliant Characters. Added to that, “Undying Admiration” also increases the Crit Rate of the wielder’s Elemental Skill. The Energy Recharge Secondary Stat is also useful for spamming Elemental Burst. Basically, this Sword is made to make Sub-DPS Characters deadlier.

The problem is that this Sword is limited. It was given for free during the Quest “Festering Desire” of The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event. Aside from this, there is no other way to obtain the Sword. If you’re lucky to obtain the Sword during the event, please make good use of this weapon.

Where to get: Given during the Festering Desire Quest

3. Favonius Sword

Secondary Stat: Energy Recharge%

Special Effect: (Windfall) CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

Favonius Sword is very useful for both Sub-DPS Characters and Support Characters. The main purpose of this Sword is to hasten the Energy Recharge of your Character. This Sword is universal and it is good for any Character because almost all Characters need the Energy Recharge Stat. With this Sword, you can maximize the use of your Character’s Elemental Burst.

Where to get: Can be obtained by Wishing

2. Amenoma Kageuchi

Amenoma Kageuchi

Secondary Stat: ATK%

Special Effect: (Iwakura Succession) After casting an Elemental Skill, gain 1 Succession Seed. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. The Succession Seed lasts for 30s. Up to 3 Succession Seeds may exist simultaneously. After using an Elemental Burst, all Succession Seeds are consumed and after 2s, the character regenerates 6 Energy for each seed consumed.

Amenoma Kageuchi is better used for Characters that can spam their Elemental Skill. The main mechanic when using this Sword is to maximize the effect of “Iwakura Succession”. Always use the wielder’s Elemental Skill to reach the maximum stacks of Succession Seed. Use the wielder’s Elemental Burst when the maximum stacks of Succession Seed are met. The Character will regenerate Energy after the Elemental Burst is used.

This Sword is good for Characters with Elemental Burst that has a high Energy Requirement. The Special Effect helps in the regeneration of Energy. With this effect,  the Character can use his/ her Elemental Burst more often.

Where to get: The diagram of this Sword can be obtained by completing the World Quest “The Farmer’s Treasure”.

1. Iron Sting

Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery

Special Effect: (Infusion Stinger) Dealing Elemental DMG increases all DMG by 6% for 6s. Max 2 stacks. Can only occur once every 1s.

Iron Sting is a top-tier F2P-friendly Sword for Sub-DPS Characters. The Elemental Mastery is very useful for Characters that are used to set up and trigger Elemental Reactions. The Special Effect “Infusion Stinger” is good for Characters that depend on Elemental Damage. This Sword is practically used for Characters that have a high-damaging Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst and for the Characters that have a special mechanic that allows them to scale with Elemental Mastery.

An example of a Character that is best equipped with this Sword is Kaedahara Kazuha. Kaedahara Kazuha’s potential scales off his Elemental Mastery. Kaedahara Kazuha also has a Passive that gives Elemental Damage Bonus Buff to his teammate that scales off his Elemental Mastery, so he is greatly benefitted from the Secondary Stat of this Sword.

Where to get: This Sword can be crafted
