Leatherface, also known as Bubba was introduced in dead by daylight in chapter 5.5. He is a chainsaw-wielding killer and most people will know him from the basement bubba killer, where he camps in the basement until the survivors come down, giving him a chance to chainsaw them and continue camping. Nonetheless, he is famous for one of the most powerful perks, barbecue and chilli, which will reveal all the survivors when hooking one of the survivors. Nevertheless, let's look at his best builds.

5. Basement Bubba Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Jave Hunt

The Basement Bubba build is the ultimate build for players who love to play Bubba in the location where he was born, the basement. With this build, survivors can completely forget about the game and instantly die because with this build there is no escape. These perks are a friend to the basement and if by any luck one of the survivors escapes the basement, the perk Blood Warden takes over, allowing no escape through the gates and successfully sacrificing the survivors above the basement.

What The Basement Bubba Build Excels In:

  • Excels in the speciality of being a basement bubba; in other words, it maximises the possibility of sacrificing the survivors in the basement.
  • A second chance for Bubba is if the survivors escape the basement, but they still have to go through the gates with the blood warden, which reduces the possibility of escape.

Build details & Perks:

  • Agitation: While carrying a Survivoryou benefit from the following effects: Increases your Carrying Movement speed by 6/12/18 %. Increases your Terror Radius by 12 metres.
  • Iron grasp: While carrying a Survivor, you benefit from the following effects: Decreases Wiggle effects, which cause you to strafe sideways, by 75 %. Increases Wiggle duration by 4/8/12 %.
  • Blood warden: The Auras of Survivors standing within the Exit-Gate area are revealed to you. Once per Trial, hooking a Survivor while Blood Warden is active calls upon The Entity to block the exits for all Survivors for 30/40/60 seconds.
  • Insidious: Grants the Undetectable Status Effect after standing still for 4/3/2 seconds and until you are moving again.

4. Playtime Bubba Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by PotatoLegion

Playtime Bubba comes from the main perk that powers up this build, Hex: Plaything, allowing for survivors to be completely oblivious and cursed when gotten off the hook making it much harder to progress through the game unless they find their hex. Nevertheless, the rest of the three perks concentrate on the anti-progression of generators, making it much more difficult for the survivors to do the generators whilst being oblivious causing them to be more aware and potentially making more missed skill checks.

What Playtime Bubba Build Excels In:

  • Playing with the survivors where you have one of the main perks Hex: Plaything, where you will be able to play with survivors having the cursed and oblivious status effects on the survivors, making it much harder to do tasks.
  • With Discordance and Pop Goes the Weasel, finding a generator can be done quickly while saving time and going on a chase as fast as possible.

Build details & Perks:

  • Corrupt Intervention: At the start of the Trial, the 3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80/100/120 seconds.
  • Hex: Plaything: If there is at least one Dull Totem remaining in the Trial Grounds, Hex: Plaything activates on a random Totem each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time: The hooked Survivor suffers from the Cursed and Oblivious Status Effects until Hex: Plaything is cleansed. For the first 90 seconds, only the Cursed Survivor can cleanse the Hex Totem. The Aura of Hex: Plaything's Hex Totem is revealed to the Cursed Survivor within 24/20/16 metres. The Hex effects persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed.
  • Pop goes the weasel: After hooking a Survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds: The next Generator you damage instantly loses -20 % of its current Progression. Regular Generator Regression applies afterwards, and Pop Goes the Weasel deactivates.
  • Discordance: Any Generator within a range of 64/96/128 metres that two or more Survivors are repairing is marked by a yellow Aura. When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a Loud Noise Notification on the Generator. After the Generator is no longer within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted Aura will linger for another 4 seconds.

3. Torment and Oppress Bubba Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by not Otzdarva

Torment and Oppress Bubba Build is a build meant for pushing and oppressing the survivors in the game, whilst with these perks, you are able to at the same reduce the progression of generators and reveal the survivor's location whilst being incognito mode with the help of the perk, Trail of Torment, a perk that comes from the fun killer to play with, Pyramid Head. Nonetheless, this is a build recommended for players who want to at the same push the survivors and the generators and be able to have several chases whilst the generators' progression is rarely changing and making the game potentially longer.

What The Torment and Oppress Bubba Build Excels In:

  • You can foresee the survivors' location and time with oppression and overcharge, making it much harder for the survivors to continuously do a generator, therefore, having a requirement to push through the rest of the generators on the map.

  • With Trail of Torment, you can use the base of the anti-generator perks to hunt down the survivors and make it much easier to find them with less effort.

Build details & Perks:

  • Oppression: When damaging a Generator, up to 3 other random Generators also begin regressing.
  • Overcharge: Overcharge a Generator by performing the Damage Generator on it: The next Survivor interacting with that Generator is faced with a problematic Skill Check. Failing the Skill Check results in an immediate Progression loss of 3/4/5 %. Succeeding the Skill Check grants no bonus Progression but prevents the Generator from exploding. After Overcharge is applied to a Generator, the following effect applies: Increases the Regression speed from 100 % to 400 % over the next 30 seconds.
  • Trail of torment: After damaging a Generator, you are granted the Undetectable Status Effect until that Generator stops regressing or you damage a Survivor. The Aura of that Generator is revealed to all Survivors in yellow. Trail of Torment has a cool-down of 80/70/60 seconds.
  • Hex: Huntress Lullaby: Your hunt is an irresistible song of dread which muddles your prey's attention. Survivors receive a 2/4/6 % Regression penalty on Failed Skill Checks for Repair and Healing actions. Hex: Huntress Lullaby grows in power each time you Hook a Survivor, gaining 1 Token, and affecting Repair and Healing Skill Checks: 1 Token: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -14 %. 2 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -28 %. 3 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -42 %. 4 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -56 %. 5 Tokens: disables the Warning sound. The Hex effects persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed.

2. The Forbidden Bubba Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Tatariu

The forbidden bubba build is a complete curse for the survivors, with no break between the killer, they are always monitored and bubba can see everything. With barbecue and nurses calling the killer has the ability to see the auras whether the survivors are healing, or whether he puts the survivors on the hook. Nevertheless apart from seeing he can hear the survivors, especially with the perk Infectious fright, where it will let out a scream from the survivors when a survivor is down and are in the terror radius specified, which is great with monitor and abuse, as it increases the terror radius by 16 meters, therefore, increasing the possibility of the survivors' scream, making it an incredibly powerful build for revealing survivors.

What The Forbidden Bubba Build Excels In:

  • With Barbecue and Chilli and Nurses calling, you have the ability to see the survivors in different situations whilst putting a survivor on the hook, or when survivors are healing.

  • The combination of monitor and abuse, and infectious fright makes it much easier to find survivors when not in a chase as it completely increases the terror radius and reveals them by their screams.

Build details & Perks:

  • Barbecue and Chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
  • Nurses calling: The Auras of Survivors, who are healing or being healed, are revealed to you when they are within a range of 20/24/28 metres.
  • Monitor and abuse: Your base Terror Radius is increased by 8 metres. Whenever you are outside a Chase, your Terror Radius is reduced by 16 metres while your Field of View is increased by 3/5/10 °.
  • Infectious fright: Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for 4/5/6 seconds.

1. The Insanity Bubba Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by D3AD Plays

The Insanity Bubba Build excels in most areas the killer is capable of not doing on its own. With the combination of perks available, the killer has the ability to do the things that a usual killer wouldn't be able to do. One of the perks that stand out is the perk bamboozle, which breaks down the looping spaces making the survivor give up on the chase and therefore and go on a run, enabling the killer to catch up on the survivor much faster. This is incredibly powerful in a place such as a shed, where there is only one window and two doors, and once the window is blocked, the survivor has no choice but go to a different location. Nevertheless, the top-tier perks such as infectious fright and barbecue and chilli reveals the survivors in specific situations leaving it with a time-saving perk pop goes the weasel making the game last longer and therefore making it easier for the killer to catch up, making all of this one of the most powerful builds in the killer category.

What The Insanity Bubba Build Excels In:

  • The combination of all the perks makes it so much harder for survivors to survive the game when the killer perks consist of revealing survivors, decreasing the progress of generators and of course, anti-chase with the perk bamboozle, where all these make it an ultra build for Bubba.

  • Bamboozle which makes it powerful for a killer like Bubba, as it completely dismisses the chase for the survivors, and whilst blocking the survivors by blocking the window, bubba can instantly use its chainsaw to instantly down the survivor.

Build details & Perks:

  • Barbecue and Chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
  • Pop goes the weasel: Pop goes the weasel: After hooking a Survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds: The next Generator you damage instantly loses -20 % of its current Progression. Regular Generator Regression applies afterwards, and Pop Goes the Weasel deactivates.
  • Infectious Fright: Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for 4/5/6 seconds.
  • Bamboozle: Performing a Vault action is 5/10/15 % faster and calls upon The Entity to block that Vault location for Survivors for 8/12/16 seconds.
