There are numerous builds that are great for a good game, with each build having its advantages and disadvantages; however, we will focus on the top 5 builds that make it one of the best builds in the game.

Builds can be varied on the specifications of perks and the combination of whether it will work with teammates and whether it will be advantageous against the killer’s perks as well.

5. The Infinite Sprint Burst Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Naymeti

The infinite sprint burst build is the ultimate recovery build, where the perks only rely on speed within the game. There is a perk that will considerably change the status of other perks, and we will see which one it is that makes this build super powerful.

Perks in the build

Build Details

  • The perk Sprint Burst will allow you to break into a sprint at the speed of 150% for 3 seconds.
  • The perk Vigil will increase the recovery speed from blindness, broken, exhaustion, exposed, hindered, haemorrhage and any oblivious status effects – by several percent.
  • The perk fixated will allow you to walk 10/15/20 % faster and be able to see your own scratch marks.
  • The perk Adrenaline activates when all the generators are completed, raising one health state and a 150% speed boost.

Analysis

It is a perfect combination for running and speeding through the game. The perk sprint burst is the main perk within this build that make up the difference in the speed status. Nonetheless, after all the generators have been completed, adrenaline will activate, having an extra boost of adrenaline on top of the sprint burst.

Fixated is also a perk that is not widely used as it is not that effective in the game. The use of seeing scratch marks is likewise additional information that will recall the direction you came from, and the extra speed in walking isn’t really reliable as it only slows down the game, eventually just so that you would avoid the killer and avoid scratch marks.

Why the Vault Speed Build is great

  • The perk vigil will allow you a quick recovery speed for any exhaustion by several percent.
  • It is all relied on speed, where the connection between sprint burst and vigil will allow you to run across the map in no time.
  • The use of fixated will allow you to see scratch marks, making it much easier to predict from which direction you came from and maybe use directional tactics to trick the killer.

Expert Opinion

This build is very good when you want to speed things up when being able to walk 20% faster and also managing to use sprint burst while using the perk vigil to recover the perk as soon as possible.

Overall they are very good perks, however, there is a lack of technical perks, where you want to use these perks to help you with the items that will help you progress within the game. These perks can be argued to be solo advisable when you would want to be running with the killer, and solo surviving.

4. The Ultimate Efficiency Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Ayrun

The ultimate efficiency build is a build that is comparably similar to the Vault Speed build, see (2. The Vault Speed Build). The only difference in this build is the use of adrenaline instead of spine chill, where using this perk can have many advantages the teamwork of other perks, and we’ll see why.

Perks in the build

Build Details

  • The perk Iron Will will allow you to reduce your sounds of pain to 100% when unlocked at tier 3.
  • The perk Resilience will allow you to increase your action speeds 3/6/9 % within the game when you are injured.
  • The perk Dead Hard is an exhaustion perk that allows you to dash, either helping you gain distance from the killer or avoiding an attack.
  • The perk Adrenaline activates when all the generators are completed, raising one health state and a 150% speed boost.

Analysis

It is a perfect combination, especially for adrenaline, because when you are looping, you could be able to loop for the whole game. Therefore, adrenaline activates when all the generators are completed, automatically healing you from one health point from injured to an entire health state, making it much easier for your escape. Even when you get hit, there is a higher chance to escape than not to have adrenaline and be injured.

Why the Vault Speed Build is great

  • The use of adrenaline will give you a boost at the end of the game, allowing you to escape the chase.
  • Additional emergency support consists of Iron will, which when hit, will give you plenty of time to re-organise and hide, and eventually confuse the killer in the direction.
  • Dead Hard is an emergency backup if you are one hit against downing.
  • There is an overall synergy, where the perks help you in a chase, and then the perk that will instantly help you escape the pursuit, with the adrenaline’s speed boost of 150%.

Expert Opinion

A lovely build combination for running. There isn’t much to say that could go wrong when using this build properly; however, it is only good when looping, especially for a long time, where adrenaline comes in.

The one perk that could be swapped out would be iron will, where it could be exchanged with spine chill, for instance, which will avoid getting tricked when running in a loop, for example, when the killer hides its light moonwalking so that it would confuse the survivor.

3. Super Movement Speed Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by PROBZZ

The super movement build is a build consisting of mostly speed perks, it is a build that is similar to the Infinite Sprint burst build, however, it does not have a recovery of exhaustion such as vigil, but instead, it has hope which will stack up the movement speed once the exits are powered.

Perks in the build

Build Details

  • The perk Sprint Burst will allow you to break into a sprint at the speed of 150% for 3 seconds.
  • The perk hope will again allow you to gain a haste status effect movement speed of 5/6/7 %, as soon as the exit gates are powered, for 120 seconds.
  • The perk fixated will allow you to walk 10/15/20 % faster, and be able to see your own scratch marks.
  • The perk Adrenaline activates when all the generators are completed, raising one health state and a 150% speed boost.

Analysis

We can argue that this is basically an end-game build, where all the speed is generated once the exit gates are powered.

Why the Vault Speed Build is great

  • It is all relied on speed, where the connection between hope and adrenaline will stack up the speed boost once the generators have been completed, making it for a much easier and faster escape.
  • The use of fixated will allow you to see scratch marks and therefore making it much easier to predict from which direction you came from, and maybe able to use directional tactics to trick the killer.

Expert Opinion

This build is very good for when you would want to secure the end-game escape. However it is a similar build to the infinite sprint burst build; however, it's not infinite as it is replaced by hope, making haste a bit faster.

Nonetheless, it is a very good build.

2. The Vault Speed Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Naymeti

The Vault speed build is a build that is very effective when running and taking advantage when running injured. The build here has been improvised by the YouTuber Naymeti’, with the title: “Looping killers with the vault speed build” in the title the word ‘looping’ is perfect when using this build, and I will explain why.

  • The perk Spine Chill increases your action speeds by 2/4/6 %, but only when the killer looks at you within 36 meters.

Analysis

This build overall has a great combination of the perks. For instance, the combination of Resilience and Spine Chill gives an extra boost in action speeds when for instance, you are in a chase with the killer:

Resilience (9%) + Spine Chill (6%) = 14%

Nonetheless, apart from the boost, there is also Iron will, making it harder for the killer to chase you when in a chase, making it dependent on visuals rather than listening and seeing where the survivor is running.

Lastly, of course, dead hard, where if anything went wrong during the chase, you could use the dead hard exhaustion perk to avoid the hit and continue the pursuit.

Why the Vault Speed Build is great

  • The use of spine chill and resilience will allow you to perform actions much faster.
  • Additional emergency support consists of Iron will, where when hit, it will give you plenty of time to re-organise and hide, and eventually confuse the killer in the direction.
  • Dead Hard is an emergency backup if you are one hit against downing.

Expert Opinion

This build is perfect for running and improvising. It is an excellent build for beginner players, for instance, when using the perk spine chill, which will give you a warning if the killer is nearby, making it less stressful for the player and more focused when playing.

Nevertheless, the combination of the two perks is beautiful, making looping so much faster when vaulting. Nonetheless, the three perks are only reliant when injured; therefore, only spine chill is activated when uninjured. So when in a chase, it is recommended to be comfortable in a looping space so that you can eventually escape the killer and recover.

1.  The Infinite Looping Speed Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by PROBZZ

The infinite looping speed build is an exciting build to use where it does not consist of any exhaustion perks; however, it does the makeup of two perks which can speed up the whole game in certain situations, with the help of the two other perks that will increase the chances of survival and speed.

Perks in the build

Build Details

  • The perk Bloodpact will allow you to gain a Haste Status effect movement speed of 5/6/7 % after healing or being healed by the obsession until the distance between each other is no longer than 16 meters.
  • The perk hope will again allow you to gain a haste status effect movement speed of 5/6/7 %, as soon as the exit gates are powered, for 120 seconds.
  • The perk bond will unlock an aura reading ability, where you can see survivors within 20/28/36 meters.
  • The perk decisive strike will allow you to escape the killer’s grasp, and once used, it will stun the killer for five seconds. The perk is only activated after unhooked, therefore activating the perk for 40/50/60 seconds.

Analysis

The build has a perfect combination of perks, even without the requirement of exhaustion perks. It is a build that will eventually require more skill when running around with the killer and teamwork, for instance, when applying the three perks, bloodpact, hope and bond.

Why the Infinite Looping Speed Build is great

  • The synergy between the two perks, Bloodpact and Hope, is unique, where it can give a real speed boost of 14%.
  • The perk Bond will allow you to communicate with Bloodpact, where it will visualise where the obsession will be within the 16-meter range and not get lost, making the perk deactivated.
  • All the perks connect, and the perk Decisive Strike is an emergency perk that will allow you to continue when grabbed by the killer.

Expert Opinion

The build is perfect to use in certain situations; however, it can be argued that the build would be ideally suited when playing with teammates. Otherwise, playing with random players will not guarantee the fulfilment of the perk, such as bloodpact, where the obsession and the survivor would require to communicate with each other and stay together. The same would apply to the perk Hope, where all generators should be completed.

This build is more about teamwork than solo, as other builds are shown.
