An almost essential part of every ranked team. The most effective defender gadget disabler. There might be alternatives such as Maverick, Kali, or Twitch when it comes to destroying anti-breaching devices. But specialist Mike ‘Thatcher’ Baker remains to be the best at it with his EMP grenades, with each three of them providing a wider range of effect.

5. M590A1 + P226 MK 25 with Suppressor + Claymore

That shotgun is almost always a one shot one kill if you get close enough

Thatcher is a killing machine with a shotgun if you know how to cut off the distance and be within close range of your enemies. Especially as an entry fragger, who’s most of the time partnered with another entry fragger, Thermite, shotguns can really be deadly.

Do your role as hard breach support, and once the wall is breached and your teammates pop their smoke grenades for the plant, work on getting close to the enemies and pummel them with your M590A1.

4. L85A2 with 2.0x Scope, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + P226 MK 25 with Suppressor + Claymore

The default skin for this gun might look horrible, but at 47, the damage that this gun makes is nasty.

L85A2 is a high-powered assault rifle which also has a pretty easy to control recoil. Attach a compensator and a vertical grip to it and you’ll maximize its accuracy with an even greater recoil control. This loadout is best for medium to long-range fire support which your team will also need after hard breaching and planting. It’ll be your job to make sure the one who’s planting is not getting flanked or strafed, and with the 2.0x scope providing you with a lot of zoom, you’ll effectively do just that.

3. AR33 with 2.5x Scope, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip + P226 MK 25 with Muzzle Brake and Laser + Claymore

High fire-rate and stable recoil. This gun is really perfect for the suppressor.

Another great way to provide medium to long range fire support is through the AR33. In fact, it’s better for that than the L85A2 because this gun has a 2.5x scope available in its attachment. Formerly known as the ACOG, the 2.5x has been a long time favorite of Siege players, providing a clear view of your enemies from medium to long range, and once you get used to it and have practiced your flick shot, you’ll even be able to use it effectively in close range.

The suppressor will always be good for long range fire support because firing with it doesn’t give your enemies the directional threat indicator whether you make or miss the shot. So you can keep providing cover fire for your teammates at a distance without your enemies knowing where exactly they’re being shot from.

2. AR33 with 2.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + P226 MK 25 with Suppressor + Claymore

Speed and flick shots

This loadout is great for all ranges. Yes, even for close range, regardless of its in-game description. All you really need is practice with flick shots, and some getting used to with the 2.5x scope. The flick shots with this gun, especially since the angled grip will make you go into ads position a lot quicker, and the flash hider, will give you the best recoil control for small bursts of fire. This is a perfect loadout for rushing and pushing, making quick pre-fire flick shots and checking corners as one of your teammates plant while the others do their respective tasks.

1. AR33 with 2.5x Scope, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + P226 MK 25 with Suppressor + Claymore

Maximum recoil control

The L85A2 may have higher damage and slightly higher bullet capacity per magazine, but the AR33 has higher fire rate, slightly better recoil, and more importantly, better choices of scopes with the availability of the 2.5x one. The 2.0x which is the biggest one available for the L85A2 also provides a good amount of zoom, but the scope itself blocks a big chunk of lateral vision on the upper left corner of your screen, which may make you miss some enemies from that angle. 

Therefore, the AR33 is overall the best gun for Thatcher. And with the compensator and vertical grip, you’ll be able to maximize your accuracy with these two attachments because they offer the best recoil control for it. Always use the suppressed handgun for shooting defender cameras and other gadgets when enemies aren’t around you. This will allow for a stealthier approach towards the objective area, and in Siege, stealth is very important.
