[Top 5] God of War Ragnarok Best Damage Builds That Are Powerful

Kratos Stuntin With His Armor

5. Jack of All Trades

This build provides well-rounded stats and usefulness to counteract all endgame threats while dealing strong single-target and area-of-effect damage. All of Kratos' stats are raised by the Berserker Set, and its benefits let him use his Relic more frequently, which has the added benefit of greatly raising his damage output.

Strength, Defense, Runic, Vitality, Cooldown, and Luck are all improved with the Berserker set. Besides the heightened fundamental values, the Berserker Set's advantages are unmatched and incredibly deadly.

This armor is arguably the best all-around piece of gear in the game as it improves Kratos's stats across the board. Because even when you take damage, there is a chance that you'll unleash a soul explosion that will alter the direction of the battle, this armor carries a high risk/high reward ratio. A set of armor befitting a combat deity.

This Build Excels in:

  • Activating Glacial Permafrost due to the Leviathan Axe handle Grip of Nine Realms, triggers a realm shift when Permafrost is full
  • Granting slack because of its versatility. If you were to slip up in a battle there’s a reliable amount of defense. If needed to switch to aggressive style of fight no issue due to the strength ratings
  • Granting range in battle with the Shield’s ability

Equipment:

Armor:

  • Berserker Cuirass
  • Berserker Gauntlets
  • Berserker Waist Guard

Attachments:

  • Blades: Pommels of the Nine Realms

4. Venom Fist

This build places a strong emphasis on employing poison and stun tactics. Use the Lunda's Lost set and stun damage-boosting gear to make this setup.

Normally, barehanded builds are employed to increase stun damage, however when combined with Lunda's Lost Armor Set, poison can be added for lethal effects. The main element of this build is poison because it simplifies and eases battles. Wearing Lunda's Lost Cuirass increases the likelihood that bare-handed attacks, blocks, and parries will poison an opponent by a great amount of Luck-based chance. An entire block of power is lost by enemies when they are poisoned.

Your melee damage against foes with poison on them increases by 40% when you wear the arm and waist pieces from the Lunda's Lost set. Although this is a big boost on its own, you may maximize the damage modifier by executing one of the game's fastest combos—the R1 bare-handed combo. Moreover, this combination enables speedy maintenance of poison after it wears off. As a result, you can poison a victim repeatedly while maintaining the damage modifier. To start, simply spam R1.

This Build Excels in:

  • Gradually depleting the health of foes from the poison. Bare handed melee attacks deal status poison to opponents
  • Accelerating the opponents stun bar by the barehanded fighting style. Barehand attacks deal highest stun of all attack types
  • High luck chance to grant a strength boost from The Furios Maul Leviathan Axe Grip

Equipment:

Armor:

  • Lunda’s Lost Cuirass
  • Lunda’s Lost Bracers
  • Lunda’s Lost Belt

Attachments:

  • Blades: Pommels of Brutal Might
  • Axe: The Furious Maul
  • Spear: Mighty Olympic Sauroter
  • Shield: Rond of Fortification

3. Rage Monster

This aggressive build will help you let off some steam; it increases Rage upkeep and damage in either Fury or Wrath. You'll need to utilize the Spear more than ever because more attacks result in more fury. Anything you'll need for this build is listed here.

While the wrist and waist armours allow you to develop Rage more quickly, the perk from the chest armor considerably enhances melee damage. This implies that you won't have as much downtime if you need to use your Rage to activate Kratos' Rage skills.

This Build Excels in:

  • Supporting aggressive play style with the high rage and strength output
  • Bailing out players from lethal damage as the damage will be depleted from the Rage meter
  • Granting rage of course

Equipment:

Armor:

  • Sols Spaulders of Courage
  • Darkdale Arm Guards
  • Darkdale Waist Guard

Attachments:

  • Blades: Deadly Obsidian Handles
  • Spear: Battle Scarred Sauroter
  • Shield: Rond of Aggravation

2. Unstoppable Force

The Unstoppable Force may be a monstrous build in longer battles, especially against groups of foes, but it does require some skill to make the most of its equipment perks. It is intended to benefit from Kratos' Dragon Scaled Breastplate, which raises his Strength and Defense each time you parry or block successfully. This requires you to play relatively conservatively, but while facing numerous opponents, you'll probably be doing that anyways.

As you're defending, you'll be able to maximize the benefits of your shield thanks to the set's wrist and waist armor. Of course, this eventually serves the Breastplate's benefit, but the added damage is certainly helpful.

As if that weren't enough, you can add weapon attachments to your arsenal to get an advantage over your foes. Each of them bestows Kratos with advantages that increase his strength as you battle.

Again, though, in order to get the most out of this build, your blocks and parries must be flawless; otherwise, you won't be able to build those buffs up to the point at which they significantly impact the game.

It's also important to note that this build doesn't work quite as well versus bosses and other lone opponents. The other perks are more suited to group engagements, even though the Chest Armor perk can still be very helpful.

Excels in:

  • Granting strength and defense boost after every block and parry with the shield’s perk
  • Utilizing the breastplate’s perks to maximize the shield’s abilities
  • Applying more stun with the spear due to the Charging Assault Sauroter handle

Equipment:

Armor:

  • Dragon Scaled Breastplate
  • Dragon Scaled Bracers
  • Dragon Scaled Girdle

Attachments:

  • Spear: Charging Assault Sauroter
  • Blades: Cursed Empress Handle
  • Shield: Rond of the Nine Realms
  • Axe: The Furious Maul

1. Havoc

Kratos' Strength stat is the main focus of The Destroyer, and that's about it. This build transforms Kratos into a wrecking ball while employing physical attacks, although at the expense of his other stats, and does so without the need for any special perks.

The following gear is all focused only on Strength. When you put them all on at once, Kratos' Strength stat will be increased to its maximum value. Once more, this has the direct effect of increasing the damage your conventional weapon, barehanded, and shield blows do to your adversaries.

The only downside is that you may not have much defense with this equipment combination, making this character build more comparable to a glass cannon. As a result, it is advised for experienced players who won't be initially tanking much damage.

This Build Excels in:

  • Brutalizing opponents with the massive strength boost
  • Combo finishers as they deal increased damage due to the perk of Vidar’s Bracers of Might
  • Transferring  status damage from back to opponents with shield strikes utilizing to Rond of Purification shield perk

Equipment:

Armor:

  • Vidar’s Pauldron of Might
  • Vidar’s Braces of Might
  • Vidars Belt of Might

Attachments:

  • Axe: The Furious Maul
  • Blades: Deadly Obsidian Handles
  • Shield: Rond of Purification
