[Top 5] Dead By Daylight Best Leon Kennedy Builds

Leon Kennedy was introduced to Dead by Daylight in the Chapter 20: Resident Evil DLC along with Jill Valentine and the killer The Nemesis. Leon Kennedy and all of Resident Evil is a staple to the horror game genre and was a welcomed addition to Dead by Daylight. Let’s take a look at the best builds you can make with Leon Kennedy’s teachable perks.

5. Advanced Leon

LEON S. KENNEDY.EXE

First,  we have Advanced Leon which uses all of Leon’s teachable perks.

Leon’s first perk is Flashbang, arguably the most fun perk that Leon has. After repairing 50% of a generator, you can jump into a locker and craft a flash grenade. With the flash grenade, you can drop it next to a killer, and after a short time, it will explode, blinding the killer.

Next,we have Rookie Spirit, which is an underused perk. After you have completed 3 skill checks while repairing generators, Rookie Spirit is activated for the remainder of the trial. Once this is active, you will see the aura of all regressing generators.

For Leon’s final perk we have Bite The Bullet, which allows you to make no noise, including grunts of pain, while healing.

Lastly, we have Dead Hard, which will help you get to pallets and windows faster than you would have previously, allowing you to loop one or two more times.

What Advanced Leon Excels In:

  • Uses all of Leon’s perks.
  • Strong exhaustion perk.

Perks Used:

Flashbang: After repairing Generators for a total of 70/60/50%, Flashbang activates:

  • Enter a Locker while empty-handed and press the Ability button to craft a Flash Grenade.
  • The Flash Grenade is left behind when escaping the Trial.

Rookie Spirit: While repairing Generators, complete 5/4/3 Good or Great Skill Checks to activate Rookie Spirit for the remainder of the Trial:

  • Once active, the Auras of any regressing Generators are revealed to you.

Bite The Bullet: When healing, you make no noise, including Grunts of Pain:

  • Failed Healing Skill Checks do not trigger a Loud Noise notification and only apply a Regression penalty of 3/2/1%.

Dead Hard: Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.

  • Avoid any damage during the Dash.
  • Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Dead Hard cannot be used when Exhausted.

4. Beginner Leon

Leon S Kennedy Beginners Build / Survivor Tips - Resident Evil Chapter Dead By Daylight

Beginner Leon is similar to Advanced Leon, except it uses perks that you don’t need to unlock from any other character. So if you are new to Dead by Daylight and have Leon, this is a viable build that uses his perks and the basic ones that are unlocked.

First, we have Rookie Spirit, which will show you the aura of all generators that are currently regressing after you have done 3 skill checks while repairing the generator.

Next,we have Bite The Bullet which will remove all noise, including grunts of pain, while you are healing. This makes it less likely that the killer will find you while you are trying to become healthy.

Then we have Kindred, which is a very strong informational perk that will show you the aura of all of your teammates while someone else is hooked, and it will also show you the aura of the killer as long as they are within 16 meters of the hooked survivor. And if you happen to be the survivor that is hooked, this information gets passed on to all of your teammates.

Lastly, we have We’ll Make It, which will give you 100% healing speed for the next 90 seconds after you have unhooked somebody. This mixes great with Bite The Bullet, since you will not be making any noise while healing.

What Beginner Leon Excels In:

  • Doesn’t require you to have any other teachable perks unlocked.
  • Strong informational perk.
  • Fast healing.

Perks Used:

Rookie Spirit: While repairing Generators, complete 5/4/3 Good or Great Skill Checks to activate Rookie Spirit for the remainder of the Trial:

  • Once active, the Auras of any regressing Generators are revealed to you.

Bite The Bullet: When healing, you make no noise, including Grunts of Pain:

  • Failed Healing Skill Checks do not trigger a Loud Noise notification and only apply a Regression penalty of 3/2/1%.

Kindred: While you are hooked:

  • The Auras of all Survivors are revealed to one another.
  • Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 metres of your Hook, their Aura is revealed to all Survivors.
  • While another Survivor is hooked:
  • The Auras of all other Survivors are revealed to you.
  • Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 metres of the hooked Survivor, their Aura is revealed to you.

We’ll Make It: Whenever you rescue a Survivor from a Hook, your Altruistic Healing speed is increased by 100% for the next 30/60/90 seconds.

3. Stuns and Blinds

FLASHBANG Build - ULTIMATE COMBO | Dead By Daylight & Resident Evil DLC Gameplay

Stuns and Blinds gives you a lot of options to, you guessed it, stun and blind the killer.

First, we have Flashbang, which will let you craft a flash grenade in a locker after you have repaired half of a generator. You can then drop the flash grenade at your feet to try to blind the killer in a chase, or while they are picking up a survivor to try to flash save them.

Next,we have Head On, which will allow you to burst out of a locker to try to stun the killer if they are in front of it. If you do successfully land a Head On stun you can drop a flash grenade for a free blind as well.

While you are in the locker you can try to heal yourself if you happen to be injured and you happen to have cleansed a totem as well with Inner Strength.

Lastly, we have Decisive Strike which will let you try to hit a skill check when you are being picked up by the killer after recently being unhooked. If you land this skill check then you stun the killer for 5 seconds, allowing you to run free.

What Stuns and Blinds Excels In:

  • Stunning and blinding the killer.
  • Fast self heals.
  • Counters tunneling killers.

Perks Used:

Flashbang: After repairing Generators for a total of 70/60/50%, Flashbang activates:

  • Enter a Locker while empty-handed and press the Ability button to craft a Flash Grenade.
  • The Flash Grenade is left behind when escaping the Trial.

Head On: While standing in a Locker for 3 seconds, Head On activates.

  • When performing a rushed action to leave a Locker, stun the Killer for 3 seconds if they are within range.
  • Head On causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Head On cannot be used when Exhausted or when you have accrued Stillness Crows.

Inner Strength: Each time you cleanse a Totem, Inner Strength activates:

  • You are automatically healed 1 Health State when hiding inside a Locker for 10/9/8 seconds while injured or suffering from the Deep Wound Status Effect.
  • Inner Strength does not activate if you currently suffer from the Broken Status Effect.

Decisive Strike: After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds:

  • When being grabbed or picked up by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check to automatically escape their grasp, stunning them for 5 seconds.
  • Successfully stunning the Killer will disable Decisive Strike for the remainder of the Trial and result in you becoming the Obsession.

While Decisive Strike is active, the following interactions will deactivate it:

  • Repairing a Generator.
  • Healing yourself or other Survivors.
  • Cleansing a Totem.
  • Sabotaging a Hook.
  • Unhooking other Survivors.
  • Increases the odds of being the Obsession.
  • The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

2. No More Regression

Dead By Daylight - Perk Demonstration | Rookie Spirit

It was basically impossible to find a build video based around Rookie Spirit, but I have put together a build that is pretty strong and has some good synergy with each other.

First, we have Leon’s perk Rookie Spirit, which will show you the aura of regressing generators after you have completed 3 skill checks while repairing a generator.

Once you find a generator that is regressing, you can quickly run over to it with Sprint Burst to try and stop it from losing as much progress as possible.

When you make it to the generator you have two passive perks that will try to get your team to help you finish that gen. We have Better Together which will show your teammates the aura of the generator you are working on, letting them know you are there and to come and help you.

If your teammates do end up coming to help you on the gen, then we have Prove Thyself which will give you all a stacking 15% repair speed bonus for each survivor within 4 meters of you.

This is a build all about finishing generators and stopping the generators from losing as much progress as possible. It’s a great solo queue build, as you won’t have a way of knowing which generators are losing progress otherwise.

What No More Regression Excels In:

  • Stopping regressing generators from losing too much progress.
  • Strong informational perks.
  • Faster generator repair speeds.
  • Good exhaustion perk.

Perks Used:

Rookie Spirit: While repairing Generators, complete 5/4/3 Good or Great Skill Checks to activate Rookie Spirit for the remainder of the Trial:

  • Once active, the Auras of any regressing Generators are revealed to you.

Better Together: While repairing a Generator, its Aura is revealed in yellow to all other Survivors located within 32 metres.

  • If the Killer downs a Survivor while you are repairing a Generator, you see the Auras of all other Survivors for 8/9/10 seconds.

Prove Thyself: Gain a stack-able 15% Repair Speed bonus for each Survivor within 4 metres of you, up to a maximum of 45%.

  • This effect is also applied to all other Survivors within that range.
  • Prove Thyself grants 50/75/100% bonus Bloodpoints for Co-operative actions.
  • Prove Thyself does not stack with other instances of itself.

Sprint Burst: When starting to run, break into a sprint at 150% of your normal running speed for a maximum of 3 seconds.

  • Sprint Burst causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Sprint Burst cannot be used when Exhausted.

1. Quiet Heals

This Is Why Bite The Bullet Is So Good | Dead by Daylight

Lastly, we have Quiet Heals, which is all about healing ourselves, quietly.

To do this we have Leon’s perk Bite The Bullet which will allow us to not make any noise while we are healing.

Then we have Self Care, which will allow us the ability to heal ourselves, at half the normal healing speed.

To help with this slow healing speed we have Botany Knowledge, which increases our healing speed by 33%.

For our final perk, we have Dead Hard to help us out in chases. If you really wanted to make this build all about healing, you could replace Dead Hard with Desperate Measures for even faster healing speed bonuses, but Dead Hard will more than likely be more useful to extend chases giving you an extra loop or two.

It is a very simple and very effective build to run. You don’t need to run Iron Will, because if you are healing the killer won’t be able to hear you anyway, and if you are being chased, it doesn’t matter too much if you are quiet or not.

What Quiet Heals Excels In:

  • Self healing.
  • Faster healing speeds.
  • Quiet healing.
  • Strong exhaustion perk.

Perks Used:

Bite The Bullet: When healing, you make no noise, including Grunts of Pain:

  • Failed Healing Skill Checks do not trigger a Loud Noise notification and only apply a Regression penalty of 3/2/1%.

Botany Knowledge: Healing speeds, as well as the efficiency of Med-Kits, are increased by 11/22/33%.

Self Care: Unlocks the ability to heal yourself without needing a Med-Kit at 50% of the normal Healing speed.

  • When using a Med-Kit, its Depletion rate is decreased by 10/15/20%.

Dead Hard: Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.

  • Avoid any damage during the Dash.
  • Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
  • Dead Hard cannot be used when Exhausted.
