[Top 10] Smash Ultimate Best Kill Throws

I'll start off by saying that to run this test on which fighter has a kill throw I had to enter the training mode of Smash Ultimate. I chose Mario as the dummy because I felt he was the middle ground between all the characters when considering the weight. I stood on the spawn point where I let the computer walk towards me. I remained in the same spot near the edge, testing out the various throw directions.

10) Villager

These kids start off the list right, beating many other fighters throws.

The Villager barely scrapes by for the fact that their throw has a bit of range to it since it is a net. Once close enough, they can only throw backward for the kill. Not anything special but it gets the job well done.

Why Villager is Great for Kill Throws

·      Wide Grab

·      Kills at 140% (Back)

9) Ivysaur

Fairly average, but don’t underestimate him. That slight edge to his range can be a great surprise for opponents.

The second Pokémon in the trainer's party, Ivysaur also has a slight extension to his grab due to his vines. He tosses his opponents backward for the kill. He is useful if you want to switch out for his superior partner, which we will get to shortly.

Why Ivysaur is Great for Kill Throws

·      Extended Grab

·      Kills at 140% (Back)

8) Banjo & Kazooie

Has a few kill options, luckily his throw is not too bad, earning him a spot.

The duo becomes a somewhat of a brute fighter, with hard-hitting attacks and a slightly better back throw. The best approach is to go on the offensive, then when going for the kill once they are at the required percentage.

Why Banjo & Kazooie are Great for Kill Throws

·      Kills at 137% (Back)

7) Zelda

Now, this is where the fighters begin showing promise. The princess has more than one trick.

Zelda isn't too bad at getting kill throws since I believe she has two viable options, her up and back throws. One is better than the other, but it is always useful for a fighter to have a good up throw since a player doesn’t have to worry about an opponent’s position on the stage.

Why Zelda is Great for Kill Throws

·      Two Viable Throws

·      Kills at 130% (Back)

·      Kills at 146% (Up)

6) Charizard

Use the speed and range of his two companions, then switch out for the kill.

Charizard is great because his best throw is his up throw, again making it easier to kill from anywhere. Not only that but he also has a good forward throw. If you're tired of his slow movements, you can switch out to Squirtle for that back throw.

Why Charizard is Great for Kill Throws

·      Two Viable Throws

·      Kills at 133% (Up)

·      Kills at 141% (Forward)

5) Dr. Mario

The Doc is a slower character but is an overall brute.

Dr. Mario’s grabs show he is powerful, but his only viable throw is his back. It is one of the lowest killings throws in the game. He only got one, but I believe the power alone is enough.

Why Dr. Mario is Great for Kill Throws

·      Kills at 126% (Back)

4) Mewtwo

Light as a feather physically, but heavy mentally.

Mew's superior clone is one of the top throwers, which is shocking considering he is such a floaty character. He has a great back throw and a so-so up throw, which is still nice to have since the position won’t be a problem.

Why Mewtwo is Great for Kill Throws

·      Two Viable Throws

·      Kills at 127% (Back)

·      Kills at 141% (Up)

·      Easy Grabs

3) Isabelle

I was really impressed with how unique this character is compared to her human counterpart.

Similar to Villager but with a slightly improved back throw, this pooch appears to have an upper hand over her counterpart. With a better back throw, she also has another throw with her fishing rod. Her reach extends way further and gives her another four options to throw an opponent, but her up to throw is better with the rod.

Why Isabelle is Great for Kill Throws

·      Extra 4 Throws

·      Two Viable Throws

·      Kills at 135% (Back)

·      Kills at 124% (Fishing Rod - Up)

·      Extended Range

2) Incineroar

Grappling, it’s what he does.

The Grappling Pokémon. Incineroar really proves who he is not just in his expressive confidence, but in his throwing power as well. He has three viable throws, his weakest being his forward, but it's still pretty good. You can count his Alolan Whip into the mix, but that would be overkill.

Why Incineroar is Great for Kill Throws

·      Three Viable Throws

·      Grappler

·      Kills at 126% (Back)

·      Kills at 139% (Up)

·      Kills at 141% (Forward)

·      Alolan Whip

1) Ness

The only option Ness players have is the back throw, and for good reason.

Even though many of the other fighters may have more options for kill throws, Ness rises above by a long shot due to his low kill percentage. It's only his back throw that is viable, but it so immense in power that it blocks out the others. Yea, Incineroar was bred for kill throws, but Ness' PSI powers can't be beaten.

Why Ness is Great for Kill Throws

·      Lowest Kill Percentage

·      Kills at 112% (Back)
