We all know that in every game, it is difficult to win without having a good tank. Tanks act as the initiator and defender. Without them, damage-dealing heroes will have a hard time leveling up. So next time, when you say that tanks are pointless, think again!

There are a lot of tanks to choose from in Mobile Legends. Some have been nerfed, while others have undergone revamping to become more powerful. Let's see the best tanks out there and why you should consider them.

 

7. Franco

Meet the lone warrior.

No matter what season you are in, Franco will always be a great pick. This makes him stand out among other tank heroes in the game. Franco is, of course, famous because of his mighty hook. With great timing, any hero will be pulled toward him. If he activates his ultimate after pulling, this will cause the immediate death of the target! 

What makes Franco a Great Tank: 

  • He is best at suppressing agile heroes because his ultimate can immobilize them for seconds.
  • He deals a decent amount of damage when his passive is at full stacks.

A Fortress Titan.

Grock encountered some changes. Because of that, he now becomes a great counter for physical-damage heroes. Grock's passive was modified, leaving him sole physical damage. He no longer deals magic damage, making him much more durable in the long run. 

However, the downside of this is that Grock can easily be penetrated by mage heroes. So always pick him when your team has the upper hand during the draft pick.

  • He gains extra physical defense for every physical attack he possesses.
  • He has high mobility compared to other tanks since his movement speed increases whenever he is near a wall or turret.

5. Johnson

Let's drive away!

Johnson is an excellent pick, especially when you play together with a friend or teammate. His skills can only be maximized well if he is partnered with a hero who has a massive area of effect damage. 

Most of the time, you see Johnson being partnered with Odette, Pharsa, or Kadita. After crashing into the enemy, your partner hero will cast its ultimate to achieve an immediate kill. The only thing about Johnson is the long cooldown time. You really have to be wise in activating your skills, so always be alert on the map.

What makes Johnson a Great Tank: 

  • After colliding with the enemy, his ultimate provides a long-lasting stun effect.
  • He is an effective roamer since his ultimate allows him to move around the map quickly.

4. Hylos

The half-human.

Hylos is a great counter against very annoying assassin and mage heroes like Fanny, Natalia, Eudora, and Odette. Because of his high survival rate, Hylos can even fill in the exp lane. Most of the time, damage dealers also take advantage of his durability by using him as the shield in taking down turrets without minions.

You just have to remember that Hylos has low mobility. He can only achieve high movement speed whenever his ultimate is activated. So take that into consideration whenever you use Hylos. Overall, he is an excellent tank that can last long in a fight.

You cannot talk about tank heroes without mentioning Tigreal. Tigreal is one of the easiest heroes to navigate. You just have to be quick and alert so that you can execute his skills perfectly.

Tigreal does not have a very high damage output. He greatly relies on his setting skills when it comes to team contribution. So as a tank, your job is to ensure that the damage dealer is being protected and enemies are trapped to make it easier for your teammates to target them.

Khufra is one of the best tanks out there. You just have to allot some time practicing his skills in order to maximize his abilities. Khufra's advantage is his ability to catch and lock down enemies. 

His first skill enables him to dash into and immobilize the target. When he activates his second skill, it will make it hard for the target to escape. It is the reason why he is named the annoying ball in Land of Dawn. Lastly, his ultimate will push the enemies against the wall and stuns them. When his ultimate is activated in an open area, the targets will be pulled toward the front and slowed down.

Akai is the ultimate favorite of most tank players at the moment. His ability to control very agile heroes is the main reason why he's very popular. Since the current meta is full of damage-dealing core heroes, the only way to fight against it is to have a stable tank. And Akai can definitely do the job! With Akai, just try not to move too much when using your ultimate because this might even cause the target to escape.
