Facilities are purchasable property in Grand Theft Auto Online added with The Doomsday Heist DLC on December 12, 2017. There are Nine Facilities to choose from that allow players to take part in a new multi-layered Heists mission and other various new assault perks (Orbital Canon and hit squad) that changed GTA servers forever. With so many different Facilities to choose from, it can be rather difficult deciding what the best location to choose is. Don’t worry, as a GTA Veteran (Playing since launch) I will be highlighting what makes and breaks some of these Facility locations.

5. Ron Alternates Wind Farm Facility (Ok)

"Why's my Electric bill so high" 

This Facility is the cheapest on this list to buy at a base price of $1,855,000 (no customization) or $4,785,000 (max customization). This underground facility can be found near the Wind Farm in Blaine County beside the Maximum Prison. When fully upgraded, all facilities give players access to an Orbital Cannon Terminal ($900,000) that shoots off a satellite laser killing selected players instantly(only works when players are above ground or outside of a building). The Ron Alternate Facility will prove challenging for Airborne players as they will need to avoid countless spinning turbines surrounding the facilities main entrance, these turbines if crashed into counts as an instant kill and will destroy any mission vehicle. The main entrance is on top of a hill, making it a bit difficult to store larger land vehicles.  

Ron Alternates Wind Farm Facility Pros

• Located next to the main highway allows for faster mission times and a quicker spawn point for your personal vehicles.
• Tall obstacles surrounding the main entrance give players extra cover against aerial assaults.
• Not owned by many players meaning less competition when doing heist setup missions.
• Spacious garage area for storing larger personal vehicles like the Avenger (Personal Zone).
• This is the centermost facility available giving players the best distance of traveling in between Los Santos and Blaine County for various work.

Ron Alternates Wind Farm Facility Cons

• Located in a high-risk fly zone (Wind Turbines).
• Nothing to use as covering fire when exiting the facility regardless of personal vehicle in.
• Cheaper alternatives available.
• Hassle to get slow moving land vehicles to the main entrance.
• Being so close to the Prison makes losing wanted levels more challenging.

4. Route 68 Facility (Good)

For those who bleed red, white and blue baby.

The Route 68 Facility is the second most expensive on this list to buy at a base price of $2,312,500 (no customization) or $5,242,500 (max customization). This underground facility can be found directly to the east of the Fort Zancudo Military Base. This facility is perfectly situated among multiple Motorcycle Club businesses and CEO Bunkers that if done right, allow for faster resupply/sale missions. I highly recommend this business to players planning on buying the surrounding MC businesses and CEO bunker.

Route 68 Facility Pros

• The best facility location when the surrounding businesses are owned. The wait time for all players will be drastically shortened as you will save time traveling back and forth.
• Easy access for slower and larger land vehicles.
• The terrain allows for some covering firing when exiting the facilities main entrance.
• Main Facility is in a low PvP area lowering the risks of failing heists setups.
• A widely open area allowing players to scout out the situation before making their next move. 

Route 68 Facility Cons

• Popular Facility amongst money grinders, this means players will need to be extra cautious as you might be mistaken for a griefer resulting in them attacking you out of self-defense.
• When exiting the facility in a land/air vehicle, it is quite easy to shoot your player when the re-spawning animation is going on.
• Lack of tall structures will make aerial assaults hard to defend against.
• Low Covering Fire when players are on foot.
• Surrounded by the main uphill roads in GTA, players will find it difficult to get slower land vehicles (box trucks) up these hills making it that much easier for griefers to blow you up.

3. Zancudo River Facility (Good)

All we're missing is some alligators.

The Zancudo River Facility can be bought on Maze Bank Foreclosure website at a base price of $2,100,000 (no customization) or $5,030,000 (max customization). This underground facility can be found near stab city (Lost MC main area). Like the Route 68 Facility, this business is located in the perfect area for owning multiple businesses in one set part of the map. Extra caution is advised for The Zancudo River Facility as it is quite near to a moving river that will trap your personal vehicles underwater, forcing you to pay (mors mutual insurance) a fee to get it back.

Zancudo River Facility Pros

• One of the best facility locations when surrounding businesses are owned. The overall time will be drastically shortened as you will now be saving time traveling back and forth on each business.
• There are a few trees and rocks players can use for covering fire when exiting through the main entrance.
• River acts as a natural barrier to enemy players and npc.
• Train tracks make getaways a lot easier as most npcs won't drive on the tracks to follow.
• Access to a nearby airstrip which some heist setup missions require players to go to.

Zancudo River Facility Cons

• If you get killed in this area, you have a high chance of respawning on the side of the mountain, griefers can trap players this way.
• The river is a double-edged sword as you will also be at risk of losing any mission vehicles.
• The locals (Lost Mc) will become aggressive when certain heist setup missions are being done in their area (stab city). 
• If you don’t own a hangar at fort zancudo, players will have to be on constant lookout for npc fighter jets flying by that will attack if your wanted level exceeds three stars.
• There is an active bug (all platforms) that will respawn players on the opposite side of Sandy Shores Lake.

2. Land Act Reservoir Facility (Good)

True Seclusion comes at a cost.

The Land Act Reservoir Facility can be bought on Maze Bank Foreclosure website at a whopping base price of $2,950,000 (no customization) or $5,880,000 (max customization). This underground facility can be found in the Reservoir on top of the mountain behind the Diamond Casino. This is the most popular bunker amongst the griefer community as there is a current glitch, they insta-spawn into the facility and then another glitch to use the orbital canon for free (Rockstar patched the latter not the former). I’m not a fan of this particular facility for new/returning as getting land vehicles up the mountain while trying not to fall into the lake is rather difficult especially when using HSW cars (Speed is too much).

Land Act Reservoir Facility Pros

• Extremely secluded from other players and npc’s (Best).
• Natural barriers make the overall defense much easier (Best).
• Lengthy Lakebed allowing for certain aircraft landing, there is a particular sale mission where players are given seaplanes to fly (The Dodo) in the facility area. 
• There is only one road that will take players to this facility making it possible for players to plan out their next steps against incoming enemies. 
• Money grinders tend to avoid this area so new owners won’t have to compete on this front.

Land Act Reservoir Facility Cons

• Griefers use this facility a lot so players will need to be cautious when exiting or entering the area.
• There being only one road can potentially Softlock players if there are multiple griefers attacking you.
• Spawning in Planes from the interaction menu will spawn at the diamond casino track forcing players to drive down the mountain again.
• Depending on the route taken, it is highly possible to run into electricity towers as they often blend in seamlessly during night hours.
• The Most Expensive Facility at all price ranges. 

1. Grand Senora Desert Facility (Best)

A Perect Facility for Perfect Players.

The Grand Senora Desert Facility can be bought on the usual Maze Bank Foreclosure website for $2,525,000 and can be found south of Sandy Shores Airstrip in between the Maximum-Security Prison and the local construction site. This is the closest Facility to any nearby airstrip while maintaining relative closeness to other MC/Bunker locations. I have owned this Facility for 4+ years now and can safely say no other Facility comes close to its viability for heist missions, I have had zero issues getting my heist setup mission done. Players that desire a perfect balance of everything should truly consider this location.

Grand Senora Desert Facility Pros

• Nearby airstrips make calling for personal aircraft more efficient. 
• Main road is easily accessible for all types of vehicles.
• The best facility location based on the total amount of surrounding businesses owned.
• Plenty of rocks, trees and fences players can use for defense.
• When exiting the facility in a personal vehicle or on foot, players will have enough covering fire from the front facing hill.
• If you die near the facility, you will have a chance of respawning at the nearby airport.
• There is a mine entrance close by players can use for exploration or for griefing others.

Grand Senora Desert Facility Cons

• A popular choice among the player base so it is highly expected that a lot of players will be coming in and out of this location.
• If attacked by a group of four or more, it will be extremely hard to defend yourself as you will become respawn-locked in the surrounding open area.
• The Main Entrance has little to no cover making getting in and out of the facility challenging when your wanted level is above 3 stars.
• It has multiple points of entry forcing players to be on constant high alert.
• The entrance is located on a slight hill which will prove a tiny bit difficult if attacked from the south.
