If you and your friends ever had the sick fantasy of partaking in Battle Royale or The Hunger Games, Fortnite has got you covered. Fortnite is an online survival game where you and 100 players fight each other in battle to be the last one standing.

Find a friend and drop into the Battle Royale style arena where you face off against the world. Now with Chapter 3 out, have members of the Marvel Universe and much more join you as you fly, blast and loot your way into victory. The game may not hold every player’s attention even 5 years later, but it certainly knows how to keep things fresh and is still fun for new and old comers alike.

Get ready for loads of laughter in this ridiculous physics platformer. Human: Fall Flat is a hilarious, lighthearted co-op game set in a world of floating dreamscapes. You’re left to navigate buildings which is a lot harder here than it probably is in real life.

You and up to 8 friends must escape those dreaded falling dreams by solving a bunch of environmental puzzles. The game is difficult just by your inevitable, incessant laughter alone as you try to waddle your ragdoll character to pick up pieces while pacing like a penguin. Explore castles, mansions and the Aztec ruins and good luck, such hilarity just might make you fall flat.

13. Heavenly Bodies (PS4, PC, PS5)

Someone at 2pt Interactive must have seen Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in Gravity and thought: “yup, that looks like a lotta fun.” Heavenly Bodies is a game about cosmonauts up in Space where you and a friend must solve space puzzles together.

Your main challenge here is overcoming the absence of gravity, where you’ll need to use your limbs to maneuver through the space station in order to complete your tasks. The artstyle is pretty and the music is atmospheric and really pulls you into the void that Space is. Unlike poor Bullock, however, you don’t need to go it alone, but it’s always up to you.

Time for a nostalgia trip, because Hot Wheels are back from your bedroom to your 4K television set! Hot Wheels Unleashed is a racing game that features, well, you know, as you race around familiar environments like you did as a kid.

The cars are small and tracks are customizable just like they were in real life and you can build tracks along your living room, kitchen, office and other interiors just like it. The classic arcade gameplay runs like a dream, drifting is satisfying and races are intense just as they should be. Grab your mom, dad, brother or sister and take a hell of a ride, you won’t regret it.

Here’s one for the anime lovers. Demon Slayer is an arena fighter with a rich story where Tanjiro Kamado, a Demon Slayer, lost his family and is looking for medicine to help his sister. 

This isn’t your typical fighter game. The animation style is stellar and rivals that of television with a heartfelt story and offers a voice cast in both English and japanese. As for the fighting itself, each hit is an adrenaline rush and each blow is super satisfying. Grab a friend and enjoy the spectacle of your own creation.

10. MLB The Show 21 (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PS5)

The greatest baseball simulator of all time comes back with some big upgrades. MLB The Show 21, is Sony San Diego’s 16th installment of MLB The Show franchise, and they have certainly shown no signs of slowing down.

The thing that stands out most in this installment is the Custom Stadium Creator, where players can, well, you guessed it, customize their own stadium. But it doesn’t end there, you can even customize the cities behind those stadium walls! There are a ton of other great features that let you refine your game and with the PS5’s dual sense controller and pulse 3D headphones this is one of the most immersive baseball experiences yet. Grab some friends and batter up!

There can never be too many cooks in the kitchen in this zany adventure. Overcooked is where 2 to 4 players must journey through a variety of cruel and unusual kitchens to become master chefs in order to defeat an ancient, edible evil that plagues the land.

All You Can Eat includes all the treats laid out in the first two installments and gives you a high res experience on next gen. If you’ve never played this before then now’s never been a better time to hop in with 3 of your friends and get slicing and dicing before the world ends. Controls are slick, gameplay is hilarious and the environments are quite literally, out of this world. A great party game! No cooking experience required.

8. Warhammer: Chaosbane - Slayer Edition (Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS5)

This one definitely quenches the Action RPG, Fantasy appetite. And what's better? Do it with a team! In a world ravaged by war and dominated by magic, you (and up to 3 others) must rise up to face the Chaos hordes.

Games are fun solo, but there’s nothing like saving the world from fantastical beasts with your best friends. Pick your class and weapons and embark on a journey through gorgeous backdrops, wicked game mechanics and satisfying enemy kills. There’s also a lot offered here in terms of leveling up stats and character customization. Definitely one of the better Warhammer games to date.

7. Haven (Xbox One, PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS5)

Finally, a game for the romantics out there! Haven is about two lovers, Yu and Kay, who escape to an uninhabited lost planet called Source. Either alone or with your significant other, players must find resources for their spaceship, Nest.

This is one sweet, endearing adventure of two star crossed lovers alone on a beautiful, pastel, planet. How’s that for an aphrodisiac? Glide through the skies, battle some creatures, collect some cool materials and follow a darling relationship and this game will definitely leave you feeling warm inside. Maybe learn a thing or two in your real life relationships, huh?

6. Borderlands 3 (PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5)

Fast paced, fun and with a ton of replay value, Borderlands 3 cares not to reinvent the wheel and honestly, it doesn’t need to. You and 4 others can play as the Vault Hunters to stop an insane cult on reaping the powers of a lost, alien tech.

Here you can venture off Pandora to awe-striking worlds across the galaxy. The controls are as slick and refined as ever and whether co-op or single player, the game never grows stale and is an absolute blast, both literally and figuratively.

2022 and your favourite football/soccer simulator has made it to 4K. FIFA 22 is the 29th installment in the FIFA series and so far has shown no signs of letting up.

This is the first FIFA to introduce Hypermotion, which allows more fluidity in the simulation. EA had to generate over 4000 new animations that they harvested from real life matches. That combined with upscaled character models easily makes this the best looking FIFA yet. You can now even create your own club and stadium in career mode, so grab some friends and partake in some whacky mini-games or a full blown match like never before.

The world’s best racing simulator is back! Gran Turismo 7 is a racing game and the 8th mainline installment of the Gran Turismo franchise, where you can partake in different game modes such as GT Campaign, Arcade and Driving School.

Gran Turismo has always been on the cutting edge of racing games for car lovers everywhere, and 7 is no exception. All of your favourite brands are back and there’s a lot to partake and discover here if you are said car lover. You even get old photographs and history lessons on each model, and… there’s not much else to say, it’s Gran Turismo! It’s everything you love now in glorious 4K.

A colouring book comes to life! Beloved artist, Chicory, has gone missing and it’s up to you (and perhaps another) to pick up her brush and fill in the colours of the world.

While it would have been fun just colouring in the world on its own, Chicory cleverly uses its paintbrush theme as a puzzle tool and fills you with charm and wonder as you name your characters after your favorite food. If that wasn’t enough, there is a compelling story here with rich themes of tackling mental health issues and you’re own inner critic. Who knew a live-action colouring book could be so deep?

2. Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS4, PS5)

In this endearing spin-off to Little Big Planet, Sackboy finds himself having to save his village from the evil Vex. This game puts a lot of focus on co-op level design and offers a fresh new take on the old formula.

The aesthetics pop for your eyes delight, and offer a rich variety of levels from ancient backdrops to futuristic spaceports. The music will make you want to groove with funk beats and epic scores and gameplay is fun, zany and cute and is sure to be loved by any fan of the original Little Big Planet.

Like if Toy Story met Honey I Shrunk the Kids met… psychedelics? This is one trippy ride for a two player game and a whole lot of heart-warming fun. You and your significant other play as a married couple turned to dolls on an adventure to get back to reality.

Level design is super creative and a blast to traverse around, from giant bedrooms to lush gardens to outer space. There’s something special about having to work as a team and contemplate what it is to have a little give and take in a relationship like you would in a real marriage. For the romantic in you, never give up hope.
