LoL Best Zed Skins That Look Freakin' Awesome (All Zed Skins Ranked Worst To Best)

Zed Best Skins
"The unseen blade is the deadliest."

The Master of Shadows is a popular mid-lane assassin due to his flashy abilities and play-making potential. Zed has a total of 8 skins out of which 3 are legacy skins. He has 2 legendary skins and one of his skins also has a prestige edition. Let’s rank them from worst to best based on a few attributes.

Available Skins

5. Project Zed

See Project Zed in action: Project Zed Skin Spotlight

Project Zed was released with the 5 project skins released after the popularity of Project Yasuo. It features Zed in a futuristic exoskeleton-like suit with his shadows as holograms and all his abilities having a futuristic look.

Zed’s shurikens are red/orange and his ultimate has an execution indicator that shows clearly. The recall animation is slick and awesome.

  • General appearance: 7/10
  • Ability animations: 7/10
  • SFX: 6/10
  • Recall animation: 7/10
  • Total: 27

The skin is available for 1350 RP.

Prestige Project Zed

This skin also has a prestige edition that makes it look even more beautiful. The prestige edition turns the skin golden and adds hair. It’s one of the best-looking prestige editions of any skin.

The prestige edition looks much better than the regular one and we’ll give it a separate rating

  • General appearance: 9/10
  • Ability animations: 8/10
  • SFX: 6/10
  • Recall animation: 7/10
  • Total: 30

Prestige Project Zed is available for 125 Mythic Essences when it’s in rotation.

4. PsyOps Zed

See PsyOps Zed in action: PsyOps Zed Skin Spotlight

PsyOps Zed features him as an elite and formidable assassin (which he already is LOL). The skin looks good with high quality shadows and abilities. Like the rest of the skins of this theme, the abilities have multi-coloured particles. The recall animation looks sick.

The deathmark of this skin looks cool especially when it executes the targets. The best part of this skin are the smooth and soothing sound effects that come with it.

  • General appearance: 7/10
  • Ability animations: 8/10
  • SFX: 7/10
  • Recall animation: 8/10
  • Total: 30

The skin is available for 1350 RP.

3. Galaxy Slayer Zed

See Galaxy Slayer Zed in action: Galaxy Slayer Zed Skin Spotlight

Galaxy Slayer Zed was the first of Zed’s ultimate skins and Riot did not disappoint the fans. They outdid themselves while designing this skin.

From the emotes which include the scariest taunt ever to the auto-attacks and critical strike animations, the skin is very flashy.

Being someone who likes simplicity, I was never fond of this skin too much. But I won’t deny that playing this feels smooth. Perhaps my old-school brain still can’t get over Shockblade Zed (and it might never).

The theme is supposed to be alien-like and Zed is featured as a galaxy slayer. He also has these spider-like blades that pop from his back now and then. As with all legendary skins, every animation is new, auto-attacks are new and sound effects are new.

  • General appearance: 8/10
  • Ability animations: 8/10
  • SFX: 8/10
  • Recall animation: 9/10
  • Total: 33

The skin is available for 1820 RP.

2. Shockblade Zed

Released with the champion on launch, Shockblade Zed is still my favourite Zed skin to this day. It is a perfect example of what regular skins should be like. It changes Zed’s shurikens to new ones and adds lightning particles as well. The best part are the sounds of thunder and lightning particles added to all the abilities.

At the time it was released, Riot could’ve made this an epic skin but they decided to keep it at a low price. All true, old-school Zed mains know that this is Zed’s best skin, even better than the legendary skins. The only thing it lacks is a new recall animation and the touch of how Riot makes skins now.

  • General appearance: 9/10
  • Ability animations: 9/10
  • SFX: 10/10
  • Recall animation: 5/10
  • Price factor: 1/1
  • Total: 34

The skin is available for 975 RP.

1. Debonair Zed

Perhaps Riot rightly thought that one legendary skin wasn’t enough for a champion like Zed. So they made another one and it does look better than the first one. The reason this is ranked above Shockblade is because it adds way too many features compared to it.

The theme is Zed in a suit and a touch of the Elder Gods. Zed’s model looks dashing. In many parts of the skin, we can see tentacles that signify the presence of Elder Gods. Zed’s shadows also have these elements and so does the cool recall animation.

The dark purplish almost “Void” like elements of the skin make Zed look badass. The auto-attacks are slick and smooth. Like all legendary skins, it comes with special interactions, new respawn animations and an overhaul of all the emotes.

  • General appearance: 10/10
  • Ability animations: 9/10
  • SFX: 9/10
  • Recall animation: 10/10
  • Total: 38

The skin is available for 1820 RP.

Legacy Skins

3. SKT T1 Zed

See SKT T1 Zed in action: SKT T1 Zed Skin Spotlight

SKT T1 Zed honours Faker’s winning performance in the 2013 World Championship. It gives Zed a new model in which he wears a red jacket and headphones with golden blades and shurikens. His shadows also seem silvery grey.

Being a regular skin, there are no new animations or effects.

  • General appearance: 7/10
  • Ability animations: 5/10
  • SFX: 5/10
  • Recall animation: 5/10
  • Total: 22

The skin can be bought for 750 RP when the legacy vault opens. It can also be obtained through Hextech crafting or purchased through “My Shop”.

2. Death Sworn Zed

See Death Sworn Zed in action: Death Sworn Zed Skin Spotlight

Death Sworn Zed gives him a haunting new look. He looks as if he’s some phantom and controls souls which are seen in many parts of the skin. The colours look nice on him and all his abilities have been given a haunting touch. Even his auto-attacks leave a special effect on enemies as if he’s pulling out their souls.

Overall it’s a very good skin if you can get your hands on it.

  • General appearance: 7/10
  • Ability animations: 9/10
  • SFX: 7/10
  • Recall animation: 9/10
  • Total: 32

The skin can be bought for 1350 RP when the legacy vault opens. It can also be obtained through Hextech crafting or purchased through “My Shop”.

1. Championship Zed

See Championship Zed in action: Championship Zed Skin Spotlight

I’ve always loved the colours of championship skins. I like simplicity in skins and this one keeps it simple while adding my favourite elements.

The recall animation of this skin has a “Lich King” reference where a throne pops out from the ground and Zed sits on it with his chin on his fist just like Arthas. Moreover, the silver-blue colours of his armour and shurikens look amazing.

This is my second favourite skin of Zed after Shockblade.

  • General appearance: 10/10
  • Ability animations: 7/10
  • SFX: 5/10
  • Recall animation: 10/10
  • Price factor: 1/1
  • Total: 33

The skin can be bought for 975 RP when the legacy vault opens. It can also be obtained through Hextech crafting or purchased through “My Shop”.
