[Top 10] Best Smash Ultimate Players Who Are Godlike

Smash Best Ultimate Players, Best Smash Ultimate Players
Some of the best players in the world duking it out

We all have our favorite smash pros, but which player is truly the best? This list has my opinion on who the best Smash Ultimate players are right now.

Criteria: Due to the recent controversy, certain names were left out of the list. This list was primarily based on in-person smash tournaments, but online events were taken into consideration and could only boost a player’s rank.

10. Kameme

The second-best player in Japan, Kameme is famous for his ability to push the Megaman meta further and further. The 24-year-old player from Tokyo is sponsored by DetonatioN Gaming. Kameme’s results prove his Megaman mastery, with a 1st place win at Umebura Japan Major 2019, and 3rd place at Let’s Make Big Moves. After popularizing the Megaman Z-drop combo, Megaman players are always looking to see what combos he can revolutionize next.

9. Light

Light brings the hype. His unrelenting aggressiveness has overpowered almost all of his opponents. The 20-year-old smasher from Connecticut is widely considered to be the best Fox in the world. His mastery of the character has gotten him 3rd place at Glitch 6, 1st at Ultimate Nimbus, and 2nd at Glitch 7. Light has taken sets from some of the best who couldn’t handle the speed and precision of his Fox.

 8. Dabuz

Dabuz kinda clean. Dabuz looking like the player of my dreams. Team Liquid Dabuz is a 27-year-old New Yorker that has been one of the most consistent players since Brawl. He boasts placings like 1st place at Thunder Gaming, 2nd place at Smash Ultimate Summit, and 2nd at Big House 9. During quarantine, Dabuz has been streaming his online tournament play, often letting his chat pick his character. Even without his main characters, he managed to get 9th on the wifi warriors rankings proving that he is a true force to be reckoned with.

7. Glutonny

Glutonny seems to have the touch of death. Armed with Wario, his main since Brawl, he has mastered the use of Wario’s waft, a devastating kill move sure to ruin an opponent's lead. Sponsored by Solary, the 25-year-old from France is the number one ranked player in Europe. His Wario skills have gotten him 3rd at Evo 2019, 1st at Albion 4, and 3rd at Smash Ultimate Summit. Glutonny has been relatively quiet, not competing in many online tournaments, but players still live in fear of his Wario, awaiting its return.

6. Zackray

As the youngest member on this list, it may seem like GameWith’s Zackray is up against players with more smash experience and history, but it doesn’t show in his gameplay. From Tokyo, this 18-year-old is the number one ranked player in Japan and has proven to be a threat with more than 7 characters. Using his huge roster, Zackray has gotten 1st at Big House 9, 1st at Umebura SP7, and 2nd at 2GG: Prime saga. Time will only tell if Zackray will be able to keep up with the older competition, but for now, he shows no signs of stopping.

5. Marss

“ZSS sux” is the mantra of this ZSS main who has anything but. Marss, the 21-year-old from Rhode Island has made a name for himself with his hyper-aggressive gameplay that you can’t look away from. His most notable wins include 1st at Genesis 7, dethroning MkLeo, 1st at Dreamhack Atlanta, and 1st at Dreamhack Montreal. If ZSS sucks, Marss sure doesn’t.

4. Maister

If you’ve ever been watching the top 8 of a big tournament and you see a huge smile on the player cam, you’re probably watching Maister. The 20-year-old Game & Watch main from Mexico, sponsored by Spacestation Gaming,  has had great success since his breakout role at Combo Breaker 2018. Since then he has gotten results like 2nd at Frostbite 2020, 1st at Combo Breaker 2019, and 3rd at Big House 9. Maister has also been grinding online tournaments, getting himself the number 8 position on the wifi warriors rankings.

3. Samsora

When any smasher thinks of Princess Peach, they think of eUnited | Samsora. The 22-year-old character loyalist from Louisiana has been rocking Peach since Brawl and has been steadily rising in the rankings, nearly reaching the number one spot. Samsora boasts wins at Shine 2019, CEO Dreamland, and 2nd at Smash Ultimate Summit 2. Samsora hasn’t had the best performance in online tournaments, but there is no doubt that when tournaments are in person again, he will dominate once again.

2. Tweek

Tweek, the 22-year-old from Burlington, New Jersey, has been battling with MkLeo for the number one spot since the spot was vacated in Smash 4. Unfortunately for Tweek, he is still just one spot short. With first-place winnings at Frostbite 2019, GOML 2019, and Low Tier City 7, Tweek has proven he has what it takes to become number one. Tweek has been performing well in online tournaments as well, getting him the number three spot on the wifi warrior rankings.

1. MkLeo

You saw this one coming. MkLeo, the 19-year-old from Mexico City, Mexico has been a dominant force in Smash since he burst into the scene in 2014. He currently plays for T1 and has won Evo, Evo Japan, two CEOs, and Genesis three times. You would be hard-pressed to find someone who believes anyone is better than MkLeo in Smash Ultimate:
