(A unique Gauss rifle)

Coming in at number 10 we have the YCS/186! This weapon is an amazing find when you come across it. This is a special Gauss rifle that you can find at a mercenary camp east of Tumbleweed Ranch. 9. Ranger Sequoia

(A beautifully designed wasteland treasure)

Ranger Sequoia

Coming in at number 9 we have the Ranger Sequoia! Now, this weapon is synonymous with New Vegas. The rangers that roam the wasteland carrying out their orders to save people and destroy the enemies of the NCR are legends. These guns are carried by the best of the best, the veteran rangers. There are a few ways to get it, the easiest is to pickpocket a veteran ranger but you can also get it by doing the return to sender quest.

Weapon Stats:

  • Skill: Guns 75
  • Str req: 6
  • Dmg/atk: 62
  • DPS: 104.6
  • Crit mult: x1.5

Why the Ranger Sequoia is great:

  • First and foremost it’s an icon of the Mojave wasteland. It makes you feel like one of the most badass people to walk the wastes.

8. Holy Frag Grenades

(The blessing of explosions)

Holy Frag Grenade

Coming in at number 8 we have the Holy Frag Grenades! These are some of the rarest weapons in the game if you consider that there are only three of them and you can’t even get those if you don’t have the wild wasteland perk. In the basement of a church in the eastern part of camp searchlight, you will find these highly damaging grenades. You throw these at your enemies and you don’t have enemies anymore.

Weapon Stats:

  • Skill: Explosives 0
  • Str req: 2
  • Dmg/atk: 800
  • DPS/ 522
  • Crit mult: x1

Why The Holy Frag Grenades are great:

  • If you consider reloading times the Holy Frag Grenades have the highest DPS out of any explosives weapons in the game.
  • One of the goofier weapons you find in the game, the Holy Frag Grenades are incredibly powerful having an explosion more like a nuclear blast than a normal grenade.
  • This unique weapon is one of the easiest ones to find and that plus its power would put it higher on this list if not for the rarity of it. You only get three of these gems so put them to good use and make wasteland pulp of your enemies.

7. SleepyTyme

(Time to take a nap)

Coming in at number 7 we have SleepyTyme! Have a sneaky character that just doesn’t have any good gun options? Feel like you need something with a silencer that also has the power to drop your foes? Well, this is the gun for you. Along with a cool design this unique 10mm gun has so many advantages over its normal counterparts.

Weapon Stats:

  • Skill: Guns 50
  • Str req: 5
  • Dmg/atk: 22
  • DPS:220
  • Crit mult:x0.1

  • First and foremost this gun is one of the most powerful weapons you can get in the game that has a silencer attached. It allows you to sneak up on your enemies and still do a good amount of damage.

6. Ballistic Fist

(A punch with a lil pepper on it)

Ballistic Fist

Coming in at number 6 we have the Ballistic Fist! The Ballistic Fist is a very exciting weapon and personally one of my favorite weapons in the game. This is an anime-style weapon if you’ve ever seen one. A modified power fist with a double-barrel shotgun attached to it instead of the normal power bar this weapon adds explosive results to your punches.

Weapon Stats:

  • Skill: Unarmed 100
  • Str req: 9
  • Dmg/atk:80
  •  DPS:87
  • Crit mult:x1

Why the Ballistic Fist is great:

  • This weapon adds a really awesome effect to your punches. Every time you land a hit on your enemies instead of a power fist slam they get a shotgun blast straight to the mouth.
  • If you’re not running DLC this weapon has the most base damage out of any unarmed weapon in the game and if you don’t have the wild wasteland perk it has the second-highest DPS of any unarmed weapon.
  • The pure awesomeness of this weapon is a major factor for this weapon. I mean how awesome is it to slam a shotgun in your opponent’s faces with your fist.

Here's how to get the Ballistic Fist

5. Mercy

(Oh mercy me)

Coming in at number 5 we have the Mercy! Mercy, mercy please! That’s what your enemies will be yelling as they see you approaching with this monster of a grenade machinegun in your hands. The Mercy is such a powerful and awesome weapon that you will want to use it all the time once you pull it from the cold dead hands of the paladin you find it on.

Weapons Stats:

  • Skill: Explosives 100
  • Str req: 8
  • Dmg/atk:179
  •  DPS:686
  • Crit mult:x13

Why the Mercy is great:

  • This grenade machinegun is a more powerful version of the original weapon that fires a different style of grenade. Normally a 20 mm this weapon fires 40 mm giving you a higher damage output than normal.
  • The powertrip you can have while wielding this weapon is immense. Just walking forward like the Terminator raining down hellfire on your enemies in an unstoppable tirade of explosions.
  • The damage output of this gun is fairly high being able to push out a whopping almost 700 dmg per second. Making you a force to be reckoned with.

4. A Light Shining in Darkness

(My enemy's guiding light)

A light shining in darkness

Coming in at number 4 we have A light shining in  darkness! “And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not”. These are the words etched into the side of one of the best-designed guns in the series. Not only is it a very powerful variant on a 45. Weapon Stats:

  • Skill: Guns 75
  • Str req: 3
  • Dmg/atk:33
  •  DPS:144
  • Crit mult:x2

Why A Light Shining in The Darkness is great:

  • Being the burned man, Joshua Grahams’s, gun puts some serious cool value on this weapon. Getting it  after the Honest Hearts DLC ends feels like a real reward.
  • This unique variant on a 45. Auto pistol has decent power accompanied by a fast reload making its damage output fairly awesome.
  • Last but certainly not least we have to mention the gorgeous design of this gun. With its beautiful inscription and snakeskin grip, your holster will never look more fashionable.

The mysterious magnum is beautifully designed with a silver finish as well as etchings and a pearlescent finish. This gun is found on the Lonesome Drifter outside of Eldorado gas and service.
