5. Cyprian

Nosey nosey!

There’s a good chance you already have this dude on your roster, even if you’re F2P, considering his presence in most summon portals. Fortunately, Cyprian is a solid choice for a Purple Tank, especially if you like your team to counterattack!

His Perfect Riposte makes himself and his nearby allies counterattack with 125% of the damage they received for 5 turns. Without a healer/dispeller on the attacking player’s side, this buff is definitely a pain to deal with as all attacks on their person just bounce back to the attacking hero - and then some. Limit-breaking him and embleming him defensively is the way to go with this hero though, as you’d want him to last for as long as the battle rages on!

What Makes Cyprian Great:

• Easy to summon - usually available from all portals
• Counterattacking ability - grants himself and nearby allies the ability to counterattack with 125% of the damage received for 5 turns

4. Kunchen

Simply sleek

Our list of Tanks won’t be complete without a Healing Tank - and for Purple, Kunchen is definitely our go-to hero of choice!

His Power of Ajna recovers 42% health for all allies, dispels their status ailments, and gives all enemies -34% defense for 4 turns. As a Tank, he’ll be receiving most attacks and filling up his mana gauge quicker as a result, which can make up for his naturally Slow mana speed. While he’s usually up for hanging around heroes from other elements, he’s at his best self in a lineup of Dark heroes considering his Element Link also gives them +46% defense against Holy for 4 turns! Definitely a formidable dark healer, this one is!  

What Makes Kunchen Great:

• Healing Tank - recovers 42% health for all allies and dispels status ailments from them
• Debuffer - gives all enemies -34% defense for 4 turns
• Buffer - gives all Dark heroes in his lineup +46% defense against Holy for 4 turns

3. Freya

Claw to the eyes, and she’s to blame

Minions, minions everywhere! And if they’re raven-shaped, then this lovely lady is definitely the one responsible for spawning them!

Freya’s Raven’s Vigil summons minions which will keep powering up the succeeding minions her team gets. As if granting them disposable meat shields isn’t enough, Freya so kindly gives her allies +30% defense - making them harder to take down even without minions guarding them. Lastly, her mana speed’s nothing to sneeze at considering it’s naturally set as Fast. This makes her an absolutely fantastic lady to act as your designated Tank! 

What Makes Freya Great:

• Minion Summoner - summons minions for all allies
• Buffer - buffs up succeeding minions and gives her allies +30% defense

2. Ursena

The first to blink loses

Some tanks won’t just accept being hit passively; they go and respond with violence of their own. If you want your Tank to actively take part in taking down the enemies, then Ursena may just be a great choice of Tank for you!

Her Depth Blast hits all enemies, and the damage ranges from 130% - 260% depending on their current health - the more HP they have, the more damage they’ll get. She also gives her allies a buff that makes them reflect all status effects and 115% damage from Holy’s Special Skills back to the attacker for 4 turns, so to players using Holy heroes to try and take Ursena down? Best of luck to ‘ya - you’ll need it!

• Multi-target attacker - hits all enemies and inflicts more damage the higher their health is
• Buffer - makes her team reflect all status effects and 115% damage from Holy’s Special Skills back to the attacker

1. Alfrike

What a scary lady!

Very Slow Heroes are a thing of beauty, and this little lady may just be the most gorgeous of them all.

Her Special Skill, Cube of Dark Realm, does so many unfun things to her enemies that it’s insane. She casts 5 Dark Cubes to random enemies that reduce their max health by 224, deals 200% damage to those unfortunate enough to get hit, and also causes hit targets to do Mindless Attack on a random ally of theirs when their mana is full during 3 turns. She’s a ferocious beast through and through, and it’s often game over for the enemy once Alfrike goes off - and as Tank, she definitely often will! 

What Makes Alfrike Great:

• Multi-target attacker - Casts 5 Dark Cubes that reduce targets’ max health by 224 and does 200% damage to them
• Debuffer - affected enemies automatically cast Mindless Attack on a random ally of theirs when their mana is full during 3 turns
