Today I'm going to be talking about some of the best shooter games for pc. There are way too many to choose from and If i'm being honest I could go on for hours listing them. So how do we categorize a small list to reference? To get to the bottom of it I've put together a TOP 25 for the best shooter games for PC. (Just to find the needle in the haystack sorta speak) 

25. theHunter: Call of the Wild

Year released April 2009 (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

theHunter: Call of the Wild is a game about the wilderness that focuses on hunting in a simulated world that lets players experience hunting in the most realistic way possible. But mainly Call of the Wild is focused on tracking, stalking, and harvesting animals with the weapons the player starts off with or has earned. (Fun if you want to learn how to hunt but cant do it for real)

What I find interesting about this game is how real it acts. When the developers promised the game would be realistic they weren't joking, Tracking as stalking is a skill in the game you'll just have to learn. (Not easy but can be with practice)

In my opinion the gameplay looks good and makes me feel as if i'm there. The harvesting of animals lets me appreciate  how much effort goes into it all. It's not a game where you loot the body and get the hide or meat already done for you.

• Simulation games 
• Hunting and being in the wilderness
• Realistic physics and a reactive world. Every step, and sound you make are important when tracking or stalking. 

The features for this game include the following: complex animal behavior, dynamic weather events, full day and night cycles, simulated ballistics, highly realistic acoustics, scents carried by a revamped wind system, and more. All systems work together to increase immersion and bring out the hunter in you.

This person during the hunt is trending very carefully hoping not to make too much sound and scare off animals, just look at how steady his heart beat is.

 

24. Squad

Year released September 23rd, 2020 (Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, Xbox One)

Squad is a first person shooter that's heavy on the title of the game the squad. This game is designed to encourage teamwork and communication as it's one of the main ways to play and have a good experience. A match is played between two belligerent teams, with each team being made up of squads that cap at nine players.

Now when you talk about gameplay the matches can be a little crazy at times having a similar format to the battlefield titles. Having to communicate with the squad to figure out how to win the battle each time keeps players on their toes and engaged, No matter what class you play it's valuable. 

In my opinion, like I mentioned before the format is similar to battlefield but without the open worlds and teams of 32. It's fun to keep the teams small that way for easier communication and tactical mapping.

• Using teamwork and communication with friends to accomplish your task.

The features for this game include game modes such as Advance and Secure, Insurgency and Invasion. Other modes are Territory Control, Insurgency, Destruction and Skirmish.

This team is prepared and ready to go. With the call out commands and commutation needed you can be sure they're not running in blind.

 

23. DayZ

Year Released December 13th, 2018 (Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Playstation 4)

Dayz Is a first person shooter with the theme of zombie survival. Being multiplayer only, the goal is to stay alive and healthy to protect yourself against zombies or others wanting to take what you have. There's no story as you make up your own while exploring and building your shelter. 

What's interesting in terms of gameplay is how any person you come across can be attacked or robbed depending on the situation. The day and night cycle is also fun because during the night time zombies are more aggressive and more likely to harm you if you're not in a well built shelter.

In my opinion this game is super fun when you play with friends because you all can explore together and create a small community. You can work together to stop the zombies or (If you're that kind of player) take over the map.

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Multiplayer only games.
• Zombie outbreak survival.
• A game where you can create your own story with no set path. There is no campaign so your adventure is your own.

The features for this game include: A day and night cycle, a hunger and thirst bar, customizable weapons, 3D type building(meaning you can see what you're placing before you do), different outfits and clothes, and a first person view with simi real weapon effects. 

Fun Factor Score : 95/100

When playing Dayz one can get surrounded pretty fast as shown above. This is why having friends with you is important.

 

22. Hell Let Loose

Year Released July 27th, 2021 (Microsoft Windows, Xbox series, PS5) 

Ever wanted to experience what it was like to be on the eastern front? HELL LET LOOSE is a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter video game set during the time of WW2. Play 50 vs 50 matches as the Americans, Germans, and the Soviets. Communication is intended as a central gameplay aspect as each unit may be led by a single officer, who can communicate with other officers and the commander through a "leadership" voice channel. Similarly, there are unit-only, proximity and party voice channels as well. 

What I find interesting about the gameplay is how big the battles can be! With matches that have 50 vs 50 and a big open map, players can almost get that realistic wartime experience because there's so much going on.

In my opinion Hell let loose is a good game to play if you want to play huge matches and command your team through different channels. Also the maps look very real, there's no made up places in these historic locations.

• History accurate games 
• Huge Battles that take 30 mins or more to finish.
• Tactical first shooters besides those main ones out there. 

Hell let loose lets you choose one of 14 playable roles. Also each of the two factions fighting will also be assigned a commander, and the commander is in charge of not only the team and squads, but vehicle deployments, air strikes, and supply drops, however these orders cost resources.

Fun Factor Score : 87/100

The match probably just started but to the player it will feel like chaos has started instead.

 

21. Deep Rock Galactic

Year Released May 13th 2020 (Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S)

Deep Rock Galactic is a cooperative first person shooter that lets you play as a group of 4 to fight space dwarves. Set on the alien planet of Hoxxes IV, the player controls a dwarf miner employed by Deep Rock Galactic, an intergalactic mining corporation that sends employees into the caves of Hoxxes IV to extract resources.

What's interesting about Deep Rock Galactic is that it mixes incredible FPS action, addictive and exploration. Also with the endlessly entertaining gallows of humor that combine to create one of the most compelling co-op experiences the gameplay is very fun to play.

Any game that involves aliens, exploration and FPS is something worth playing. The humor added gives off a less serious tone and brings some light into what could be a dark game.

• A compelling story that keeps you hooked. 

The features for this game include 4 player cooperative play, 4 unique classes, and a fully destructive environment. Other features include a procedurally generated cave network,(Great for exploring) High-tech Gadgets and weapons, and lastly you can light your own path as you go on your journey.

Fun Factor Score : 90/100 

During the game you're bound to come across these creatures as shown above. The blue also is just an effect. 

 

20. Destiny 2

Year Released september 6th 2017 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Stadia, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S)

Destiny 2 is a sequel to the first destiny having way more in store this time around. A little bit about this game players assume the role of a Guardian, protectors of Earth's last safe city as they wield a power called Light to protect humanity from different alien races and combat the looming threat of the Darkness.

What's interesting in this game are all the expansion packs that are released. It makes me and other players continue to play because essentially the game never runs out of content.(Though the expansions are not all free there still worth checking out)

In my opinion destiny 2 feels just like the first one in a good way. They did not remove anything that made it fun and they didn't change the universe which your guardian is in. Overall the gameplay for example jumping into combat after reaching the most populated part will always be exciting.

• Enjoy Raids 
• Roleplaying with your friends. 

Some new features for destiny 2 include an in-game LFG system to help matchmake with other Guardians, saveable loadouts, and a better onboarding experience for brand new players. Other features include a multiplayer "shared-world" environment, three-player "strikes" and dungeons and six-player raids.

Fun Factor Score : 96/100

This guardian is witnessing the fleet in action before they go off to wherever they need to be next.

 

19. Ready or Not

Year Released December 17th, 2021 (early access) (Microsoft Windows)

Ready Or Not is a first person shooter made for PC that lets you take the role of player character "Judge", the leader of a police tactical unit pitted against criminals. As a tactical shooter, realism is a central pillar of gameplay, with both players and enemies being killed in only a few shots; therefore, tactical strategies and careful planning is emphasized.

What's interesting about this game is how many weapons you have access to.The player is given a wide selection of rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, and handguns to choose from. With equipment such as stun grenades, stinger grenades, and fiberscopes there's so many ways to play. (I like there non lethal equipment and weapons better peronaly)

In my opinion this game shows you what it's like to be the leader of a police unit and go up against criminals. You get to see their side of things(to a degree) The weapons look and sound real and the Strategies you need to use make sure you stay on top of your game during battle. 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• First person shooters that feel real.
• Knowing what it's like to be a part of a swat team or special police unit.
• Scenario based games. 

Features for this game include games modes like "Barricaded Suspects'', where suspects must be dealt with, hostages must be secured, and evidence must be collected,  "Active Shooter", where a lone suspect targeting hostages must be stopped and "Bomb Threat", where bombs must be located and defused within a time limit. There are other features that make this worth buying/playing such as co-op mode, and small scenarios  based on real world situations. 

Fun Factor Score: 87/100 

This team of 5 Is about to raid. The singleplayer version of this is brutal so don't expect everyone to make it out.

 

18. Hunt: Showdown

Year Released 27th, August 2019 (Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 5, Xbox Series) 

Hunt: Showdown is a cooperative first person bounty hunter game with Heavy PVE elements. The world the player is in currently is dealing with an infection that turns everyone into zombie-like beings. You get to play with others and go on a hunt for one of the 4 bosses on the map.

What's interesting in terms of gameplay are the 20 different hunters you can choose from. They each have their own backstory which makes them unique. Also they have their own weapons and abilities so when choosing one player should be wise, choosing the character that best fits their playstyle. 

In my opinion this game is fun to play. It has elements of a zombie survival mixed with horror, letting you play on different maps each one having 4 bosses to hunt.(if you choose that game mode that is)

Choose This Game If Like : 

• Old western games.
• PVE elements. 
• Zombie survival.

The features for this game include 4 different game modes Bounty Hunt, Quickplay, Trials, and the Training Mode. Bounty Hunt, and Quickplay can be played with up to 12 people while the other modes are only PVE with no co-op.

Fun Factor Score : 92/100 

This player is on the hunt for one of the bosses that are on the map.
 

17. PAYDAY 2

Year Released 13th, August 2013 (Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux, Nintendo Switch)  

Two years after the events of the previous game. The Payday crew makes their way to Washington D.C  to perform another heisting spree. The player takes control of one of the gang's twenty-two members and can perform heists alone, or with up to three teammates.

What's interesting to me in terms of gameplay is the detection meter. Depending on what weapon you have or armor you wear your detection risk meter will go up or down. Let's say you wear a suit with a rifle and a pistol and no attachments your risk will be around 25 to 27 which is low.

Having John Wick in the game along with the missions he has makes this more interesting from a story point, where does this fit in the john wick universe? That's the question. Playing with a team of friends will make each heist a bit easier, Play alone and you will have to watch your own back as the AI teammates aren't the most reliable. 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Stealth missions or diamond heists.
• The Pay Day franchise. 
• Having to come up with creative ways to finish each mission.

Payday 2 comes with a lot of features such as Assets, Masks, Skill trees, Weapon modifications and Perk decks. It doesn't sound like much but trust me each feature could have their own guide to them with how much there is.

16. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS

Year Released December 20th, 2017 (Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5)

PUBG is a sandbox first person shooter battle royale. Play with up to 100 players in a large-scale last man standing deathmatch. Players can choose to enter the match solo, duo, or with a small team of up to four people. The last person or team alive wins the match.

What's interesting about this is the battle royale in general. At every point during the game you find yourself sweating and nervous for anything. Because the maps are so huge it wouldn't take much to start the game then 5 minutes later lose because of someone on the far side of the map. 

In my opinion PUBG is one of the best when it comes to battle royale type of games. Being the OG to kick off the new ones we see today I feel any upcoming player needs to know that.

• Open maps with drivable vehicles.
• First person shooters. 

Some of the features include realistic graphics and sounds, visual effects and a destructive environment. Other features include vehicles you can drive in (Placed around the map) and weapon crate drops.

This team is ready to go. The red zone destroys anything in it so this team needs to run if they wanna make it to the end.

 

15. CSGO

Year Released August 21st, 2012 (OS X, PlayStation 3, Windows, Xbox 360, Linux)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is a 2012 multiplayer tactical first-person shooter. The game pits two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, against each other in different objective-based game modes. The most common modes involve the Terrorists planting a bomb while Counter-Terrorists attempt to stop them, or Counter-Terrorists attempting to rescue hostages that the Terrorists have captured.

CSGO has always been interesting for more than one reason.(way more than I could write in this article) Gameplay is controversial, while some say it's great others have had less than ideal things to say. 

In my opinion all the different skins for your weapons became overwhelming at times. Matches were well balanced and the wait time was very minimal. Voice chat to me is always funny with all the different type of people you encounter.(Could be the start of a new friendship or become an enemy) 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Fast paced quick matches that last less than 20 mins. 
• All the customizable weapon skins you can unlock or collect.
• Small teams of 5.

Features for CSGO include the following; nine official game modes Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, Arms Race, Demolition, Wingman, Flying Scoutsman, Retakes and Danger Zone. Other modes like Competitive mode, the primary gameplay experience, pits two teams of five players against each other in a best-of-30 match.

Fun Factor Score : 86/100

The custom skin was probably obtained through purchase or loot box. The match is classic terrorist vs counter terrorist.

 

14. Apex Legends

Year Released February 4th, 2019 (PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Android, iOS)

 

Apex Legends is a fan favorite for many! set in the same science fiction universe as Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall series, with several characters from the Titanfall series appearing either as minor characters or playable Legends.

What's interesting is the nonverbal communication "ping system". This allows players to use their game controller to communicate to their squad certain directions, weapon locations, enemies, and suggested strategies. 

In my opinion I have never played Apex legends but through my research and friends who play it all the time, I'd say it's worth picking up. The design put into the characters and the world there surrounded feels light and not too dark and gloomy.

Choose This Game If You Like:

• Emotes and nonverbal communication.
• Playing as minor characters. 
• The character design and art style the maps come in

The features for this game include squads of three players using pre-made characters with distinctive abilities, called "Legends", similar to those of hero shooters. Alternate modes have been introduced allowing for single and for two-player squads as well. (just a brief overview on some of the features)

Fun Factor Score : 91/100

This character is in a battle that could determine his rank. The weapon skin was unlocked through challenges or loot boxes.  

 

13. RUST

Year Released February 8th, 2018 (macOS, Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

The objective of Rust is to survive in the wilderness using gathered or stolen materials. Players must successfully manage their hunger, thirst, and health, or risk dying. Despite the presence of hostile animals such as bears and wolves, the primary threat to the player is other players due to the game being solely multiplayer.

What's interesting about this game is how it feels kinda like Dayz but better. The day and night cycle is scary at times but fun. Meeting other players in this game is always a 50/50 unless you play with friends.

In my opinion rust is great to play when you have it. It's also recommended that you play with friends though you don't have to. The crafting is good because of all the varieties you can choose from.

• Open world multiplayer.
• Zombie survival games that have realistic components to them.
• A game where you and your friends can roleplay.

Rust features crafting, though initially limited until the discovery of specific items in the game's open world. To stay protected, players must build bases or join clans to improve their chance of survival. Raiding is a major aspect of Rust. Rust supports modded servers which can add additional content.

Fun Factor Score : 86/100

This player is trying to farm and collect resources and these items are some of what you need but not really important. 

 

12. Metro Exodus

Year Released February 8th, 2018 (macOS, Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

Metro Exodus takes place one year after the events of metro: Last Light, same to the other two titles,the player picks back up the role of Artyom. In this story Artyom flees the Moscow Metro and sets off on a journey with his allies to the far east, on a locomotive called the Aurora. 

What's interesting in terms of gameplay is how the zombie-like creature came out of the ground when walking up to a body to loot. (made out of sand so the jumpscare caught me) I like the way all the creatures come out after firing an unsuppressed weapon giving you a realistic vibe.

In my opinion Metro Exodus has a good story and the visual effects. For anyone who's new to the series they should start with the first one to understand what's going on.

• Post apocalyptic games with a bit of horror. 
• Visual effects with jump scares. 
• realistic sounds and response to the environment around you.

Metro Exodus lets the player embark on an incredible journey as they board the Aurora,a heavily modified steam locomotive, and join a handful of survivors as they search for a new life in the East. Experience Sandbox Survival, a gripping story that links together classic Metro gameplay with a new huge, non-linear level and a beautiful but hostile world. 

Fun Factor Score : 84/100

The player now has a choice, Live this man to his fate or end him where he stands

 

11. Gears 5

Year Released September 10th, 2019 (Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S)

Gears 5 is set on the world of Sera and takes place months after the events of Gears of War 4. Delta Squad travels to the ruins of Azura to restore an old superweapon network called the Hammer of Dawn. Shortly after their return to New Ephyra, First Minister Jinn directs them to assist the evacuation of COG Settlement 2.

What's interesting to me are the realistic scenery and character models in the game's graphics that bring the game's setting to life. The game uses a dynamic weather system as well, which heightens the immersion. 

In my opinion each level of the game offers a distinctive experience that keeps players interested thanks to the superb level design. In addition, the game includes fresh foes and monsters to challenge players.(Good if you don't like games that are to easy) 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Gears 4.
• Monsters and chainsaw weapons. 
• challenge with each difficulty. 

Players can alter a lot of aspects of Gears 5 to make their characters and weaponry uniquely their own. It also offers a fantastic co-op experience that enables users to play through the game's narrative with a companion as well. This increases the game's replay value and entices gamers to keep playing even after they finish the plot. 

Fun Factor Score : 92/100

When it comes to survival challenges this was one of the fun ones. Wave 15 is impressive.

 

10. HITMAN 3

Year Released January 20th, 2021 (Nintendo Switch (cloud-based), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S)

Hitman 3 is a 2021 stealth game where players once again assume control of assassin Agent 47. In the game, 47 travels to various locations and carries out contracted assassinations, continuing the story of the last two games. The base game features six new locations: Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, Chongqing, Mendoza, and Carpathian Mountains, Romania.

What's interesting about hitman 3 is all the custom ways to complete your mission.There's never one cut and dry answer or path. The game ultimately lets you play to the style you want.( That is is you can still add stealth)

In my opinion, Hitman 3 brings excitement and worry.(the good kind) It also brings back nostalgia from the original Hitman titles. 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Stealth games that involve you to think outside the box.
• Having freedom for how you complete your mission.
• The Hitman series as a whole.

In the Contracts Mode in Hitman 3, players can choose up to five targets from all the series' maps, set restrictions and stipulations like particular kill techniques, and share their contracts with other players. 'Elusive Targets,' which are time-limited missions that can only be tried once, are another element. (Way more to talk about that cant fit here)

Fun Factor Score : 91/100

Agent 47 as usual in disguise and object in hand ready to remove anyone in the way of his target. 

 

9. Valorant

Year Released June 2nd, 2020 (Windows) 

The near-future first-person tactical hero shooter Valorant is team-based. Gamers take on the role of one of a variety of Agents, which are based on people from various nations and cultures. Players are assigned to either the attacking or defending team, with five players on each squad, in the primary game mode.

While the gameplay of VALORANT is comparable to other well-known shooters like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive,(CSGO for the OGs) it also features distinctive agent roles, skills, and map characteristics that allow for elaborate strategies that highlight individual player talents.

In my opinion this game is great to play at night. I found out that more good quality game happen after hours.(Though that could be different depending on where you live) The matches are engaging and the communication you need to handle most maps are great for players who like strategy. 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Fast paced action 
• Colorful art design 
• A first person shooter that using strategy  

The features include game modes like Competitive, or ranked, Unrated, Spike Rush, Escalation, Deathmatch, Replication, and Swift Play. Other features include Snowball fight which is a seasonal gamemode that was only made accessible for a short period of time, starting on December 15, 2020.

Fun Factor Score : 93/100

The match is intense and there's more on the red side than there is on blue. One thing is for sure these weapons will do decent damage. 

 

8. Spec Ops: The Line

Year Released June 26th, 2012 (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, OS X, Linux) 

Spec Ops: The Line, a third-person shooting video game. It is a reboot and the ninth installment in the Spec Ops series. Players can seek cover, hop over obstacles, and fire at enemies using a range of equipment at their disposal. The player takes control of Delta Force squad member Captain Martin Walker and is dispatched on a reconnaissance mission into a post-disaster situation. In the game's online multiplayer mode, the player controls Dubai. 

I find it fascinating to think about how the game was developed. Many genre-specific gameplay elements are incorporated into Spec Ops. In this way, it sticks to the rules and discourages experimentation. With the push of a button, Walker will run for cover in a manner similar to that popularized by Gears of War a few years previously. 

In my opinion this game has a good co-op experience and the story. I feel struggles to be a first person story and still have a compelling story. The game modes and overall look of the game is worth playing.

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Military stories that have to deal with special forces 
• Playing a campaign where you can do co-op 
• Desert scenery 

Features for this game include: Cross "The Line" a mature scenario that tackles the dark side of war, where there are no good results, only terrible or worse options. Another feature is a larger-than-life playground built for vertical gameplay and breathtaking sights by the setting's distinctive being in Dubai. The last feature i'll touch on is Dubai's abundance of sand, it offers fresh gameplay mechanics like sand avalanches and intense, confusing sandstorm warfare.(Those are some of many)

Fun Factor Score : 85/100

Ready to take out the enemies and search the area this delta force soldier is by himself but able.  

 

7. Max Payne 3

Year Released May 15th, 2012 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, OS X)

Max Payne has resigned from the NYPD nine years after the events of the second game. now spends his days tending to his alcoholism and painkiller addiction. As the story goes Max accepts an offer from Raul Passos, who he met during the incident. (If you don't know what that is, look back at the last game) He has to work as a private security contractor in South America after an event in a nightclub in Hoboken, New Jersey compelled him to leave New York.

What's interesting about this game is the new feature they added to the series. The cover system, which allows players to gain a tactical advantage, and avoid taking damage from enemies. 

In my opinion This game excels in fast paced action, always having something in store for whenever you think everything calmed down. The New features they added also makes this game more enjoyable than the last, finally being able to use cover and a bunch of other things.

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• Slow time bullet action 
• The previous two installments 
• Single player campaigns 

The features for this game as already mentioned comes with a brand new cover system along with being able to hold 3 weapons at a time unlike the previous game. Also new to the series is that after using the shoot-dodge mechanic, which enables players to dodge enemies by diving, players may shoot at any angle while remaining grounded.

Bullet time is one of the only ways to survive in this game other than the med packs or regeneration but Max knows what to do. 

 

6. Resident Evil 4 Remake

Year Releasing March 24th, 2023 (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S)

U.S Strategic Command Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy is dispatched on a mission to free Ashley Graham. This just so happens to be the daughter of the US President. She's in a Spanish village being held by the deadly cult known as Los Illuminados, six years after the events of Resident Evil 2. (This Is the Plot) Ada Wong, Leon's operator Ingrid Hunnigan, the commoner Luis Sera, the adversaries Bitores Mendez and Ramon Salazar, and others also make an appearance.

What's interesting about this remake is the new and improved graphics along with character design. The story follows after the event of the last which is going if you want to get that full game feel to it.(Like finishing your favorite book after everythings been published)

Resident Evil 4s remake is not out just yet but based on what the original was like I can only expect great things. The gameplay mechanics from my experience aren't the best but they're not bad either, being able to learn them in a short time. 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• The original Resident Evil 4
• The characters stories and how there development is going
• Jump Scares that come out of nowhere

Compared to the original Resident Evil 4 has more contemporary and improved aesthetics along with a tense mood. It also has updated character designs, and improved surroundings. The feature I like the most, "attach case" to organize your inventory, just like in the original game. 

Fun Factor Score : 96/100 (PS: I love horror games)

Leon has been at this for a while. His pistol is ready for anything but those jumpscares are the worst. 

 

5. Back 4 Blood

Year Released October 8th, 2021 (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) 

 In 2021 a first-person shooter game called Back 4 Blood was released. The game incorporates numerous crucial elements from the Left 4 Dead series and is regarded as its spiritual successor. The "Game Director" AI system, which dynamically changes the environment, the location of adversaries, goods, and obstacles in reaction to players' progress and conduct, is one of these. Another is a significant emphasis on cooperative effort.

What stood out to me the most for back 4 blood was the way the gameplay feels. Going into it you can definitely see elements of left for dead. What's different though are the characters you can choose from, also along with the maps. 

In my opinion Back 4 Blood would be better if they added a local co-op component to it. The online play isn't to be underlooked though as playing with friends or random people can be enjoyable at times. 

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• The left 4 Dead series and miss it.
• Zombie survival first person shooters 
• If you want action and will a bit of chaos

The features for Back 4 Blood Include a dynamic Game Director which constantly adjusts to player actions ensuring exciting fights, extreme gameplay diversity, and tougher legions of Ridden -including mutated boss types up to 20 feet tall.

Fun Factor Score : 86/100

That tank means business. The shotguns usually work but they should expect anything.

 

4. EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5

Year Released December 7th, 2017 (PlayStation 4, Windows)

Earth Defense Force 5 is the fifth main installment, and the eighth game in the Earth Defense Force video game series. It follows the same gameplay style as the previous 4.1 and The single player campaign features 110 missions, the highest number of any EDF game to date(not counting DLC). Some missions now contain story elements to follow, such as Mission 1, where the player receives training of the game's controls from an EDF Ranger. 

What's interesting about Earth Defense force 5 is the number of missions there are to complete. As you play the game you'll find that you can't finish it in one day let alone a week. The story brings out the best in the characters and shows how much thought and time went into the game.

Gameplay for this is good and the different weapons and abilities you get throughout the story make it worth finishing.(or staying up for that last hour) The multiplayer side of things is always fun to get into as there's servers open almost all the time.

• The other games 
• Single player stories 
• Long missions that seem endless(In a good way) 

The features for Earth Defense Force 5 are the same as the previous titles so not much has really changed. The graphics and character models are better and more creative and the HUD and sounds add for immersion. 

Fun Factor Score : 86/100

These bugs are target practice for this character. They just so happen to be 10x bigger than him. 

 

3. CoD Warzone

Year Released March 10th 2020 (PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One)

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale. The game is a component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from 2019 and has ties to Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War from 2020 and Call of Duty: Vanguard from 2021, however none of the aforementioned games are necessary to play the game. 

What always stuck out to me in warzone was how big the maps are, the second was how much you're really able to do. Having the similar battle royale trait as other games such as PUBG and Fortnite Warzone give you that but in Call of duties vision.

In my opinion Call of Duty war zone will always be a go to as they keep updating their seasons and releasing more content to keep on invested and interested.

• The Call of Duty Franchise
• Battle Royale type of games 
• Action and last man standing

Features for warzone include vehicles, a variety of weapons and accessories, realistic sounds, Huge map design, and a last man standing mode when there are only 2 people left. Other features include being able to zipline and parachute when you jump off of high platforms.

Fun Factor Score : 93/100

The skin color for this weapon is bright and colorful but besides the point the battle is probably intense he just got finished reloading. 

 

2. Mafia 2

Year Released  August 24th, 2010 (PlayStation 3, Windows, Xbox 360, Mac OS X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One) 

Mafia II is an action-adventure game set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. Most of the game is set in the fictional city of Empire Bay, with the inspiration coming from real life cities such as New York or chicago. 

Mafia 2 is interesting because it picks off where the first game left off literally. You play as the same character who you saw drive away at the end of the first. The gameplay involves melee combat with first person shooting when the time calls for it. 

In my opinion Mafia 2’s driving is not the best. Getting around the city never felt more tougher especially with the car chases. The weapons that you  get to use feel real but I dislike the fact there isn't a wide variety to choose from. 

Choose This Game If you Like : 

• 1950’s to 1945’s type of style 
• The first game and want to continue where it left off
• You like first person shooters in an open world. 

Mafia 2 includes realistic controls featuring a standard action and violent action button, as well as context sensitive situations. The game introduces a cover mechanic not seen in the game's predecessor which allows the player to hide behind objects while in a shootout.

Fun Factor Score : 92/100

Tony started as just a cab driver and was slightly forced into life. Right now he's looking for his next mission.

 

1. Red Dead Online

Year Released November 5th, 2019 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Stadia)

Red Dead Online is displayed from both first-person and third-person perspectives, just as the single-player game, and players are free to explore in its dynamic open environment. Shootouts, hunting, riding horses, interacting with non-player characters, and maintaining the character's honor rating through moral decisions and acts are some of the gameplay components. Law enforcement and bounty hunters are controlled by a bounty system in how they react to player-committed crimes.

Red Dead online is the perfect game to play if you're a fan of the series and want to experience more of the universe that the second and first game doesn't offer. The gameplay is good and similar to the second giving players more freedom to create their own western story this time around. 

In my opinion This game is good for those looking for more action in a multiplayer game and if you don't want the cities you go to mainly being empty (Kinda like the second game's online version) this is the game for you.

Choose This Game If You Like : 

• The Red Dead Franchise 
• Old Western style type games 
• Massive multiplayer games that let you into the universe of a big game. 

Red Dead online currently supports 32 players per server. Players can work together to achieve the story missions, but you can also explore the area alone and take part in other activities in between each mission.(If you want that is)  With the signposts, you can quickly go to several little settlements all around the map.

Fun Factor Score : 95/100 

This is what happens when you commit a crime and there's witnesses around you have to choose to rob them or defuse the situation.
