[Top 10] MK1 Best Nitara Skins (Ranked)

No, no, blood should stay in your body, Nitara!

Let’s just get this out of the way: Nitara’s voice is terrible, I know, and I hate saying that because I’m actually okay with Megan Fox as an actress (especially when she was in the Transformers movies!). But in terms of Nitara’s design in Mortal Kombat 1, I think it’s pretty decent!

Facing a declining blood supply in her home realm of Vaeternus, Nitara sought help from the sorcerer Quan Chi and battled against the Forces of Light to accomplish her mission. And besides their need to feed on blood, Vaeternians seem to also have a unique sense of style as seen with Nitara’s MK1 skins.

#1: Dangerous Bite

Nitara, why are you looking at my neck like that?

Dangerous Bite in action:

Start at 0:45

In the case of Vaeternians, I think their bite is definitely worse than their bark. Dangerous Bite is a common New Era skin with a palette of blue and purple. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Dangerous Bite as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

Vaeternians are a race of vampires that were once mortals, but their fear of death and aging led them to dark sorcery, which in turn made them the immortal beings they are today. Now they are cursed with consuming mortal blood in order to survive and can never set foot in sunlight. The last part was actually taken care of by Quan Chi as Nitara claimed in the story mode.

#2: Bloodlust

You look a little too happy here, Nitara

Bloodlust in action:

Start at 0:52

Speaking of vampires being thirsty, Nitara needs blood more than I need a chicken wedge from Russell’s…weird analogy, I know. Bloodlust not only refers to a Vaeternian’s thirst, but to this common New Era skin for Nitara and it has a palette containing red and black. To unlock Bloodlust, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

The world of Mortal Kombat is the fictional embodiment of bloodlust! Whether characters are killing or being killed, the body count for MK is immeasurable and I’m sure Nitara has one of the highest body counts in the game! I mean, as an immortal being who has to drink blood to survive, this vampire has the skill and the time to pile up some corpses.

#3: Dark Flight

Sorry, I…the silver’s so…shiny…can’t see…

Dark Flight in action:

Start at 0:59

Leave it to Johnny Cage to call Nitara flying “falling with style”. Dark Flight is a legendary New Era skin and the palette for this skin has silver and gold. To unlock Dark Flight, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

Despite Cage’s little comment, however, Nitara does have the ability to fly and she uses this ability in combat as well.  One example that comes to mind is when Nitara attacked Smoke at Ying Fortress, swooping down from the sky to knock the gray ninja out of the air. Now me personally, I hated Nitara from that moment because no one touches my boy and gets away with it, BUT the moment showed how her flying can be useful for other things besides transportation.

#4: Ravenous

Ravenous…girl, same!

Ravenous in action:

Start at 1:04

Look, I know you’re hungry, Nitara, but humans are friends, not food! Anyway, Ravenous is the name of the common Union of Light skin shown above and the colors in its palette are purple and blue. To unlock Ravenous, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

The word ravenous means to be extremely hungry, which is me all the time, but I don’t go around drinking blood from innocent people. I get it, Vaeternians need blood to survive, but we also have to remember that it’s their fault that they’ve become blood-sucking monsters. Their survival shouldn’t be at the cost of others, especially those who have done nothing wrong.

#5: Death from Above

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…oh no…

Death from above in action:

Start at 1:15

Imagine you’re playing a horror game and you hear something creeping up behind you, but you turn around to see nothing in sight…maybe if you looked up, you’d see the terrifying monster crawling on the ceiling. Now replace that monster with Nitara wearing Death from Above, a common Union of Light skin with a palette containing white and brown. To unlock Death from Above, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

The phrase “death from above”, while a cool battle cry, is also referring to an aerial attack. Whether it’s an incoming explosive from a bomber plane or a sudden strike of a crazed vampire swooping in on you from incredible heights, it pretty much means death. Death from above, of course!

#6: Parched Vaeternian

Nitara, t-that’s not blood, it’s just cherry kool aid

Parched Vaeternian in action:

Start at 1:25

If a Vaeternian is deprived of blood for too long, not long enough to die though, I wonder how they will behave. Parched Vaeternian is another common Union of Light skin and the palette for this skin contains yellow, red, and brown. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Parched Vaeternian as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

We have seen all kinds of vampires in the media, such as the vampires from Twilight and Castlevania. But what happens to them when they don’t drink blood for a long period of time depends on which franchise we’re talking about. The life of Vaeternians has not been explained in great detail throughout the Mortal Kombat series, so while we don’t know how exactly someone like Nitara will react in that kind of situation, I’m sure it won’t be a good thing for us or Nitara.

#7: Vampyr

I ain’t no spelling expert, but I think vampyr is spelled wrong

Vampyr in action:

Start at 7:30

So, would a Vaeternian get offended if you call them a vampire much like a Lin Kuei would get offended if you call them a ninja? While you ponder on that, let me talk about Vampyr, a common Order of Darkness skin, and the palette for it consists of white and blue. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Vampyr as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

Honestly, the title of this skin reminded me of an Xbox One game by the same name. It came out in 2018 and I haven’t actually played it myself, but I think it looks cool! If anyone has played Vampyr, let me know how the game is, please!

#8: Veins of Silver

I don’t think having silver in your veins is a good thing

Veins of Silver in action:

Start at 7:41

Wait, aren’t werewolves weak to silver and not vampires? Ignore that thought, but don’t ignore this legendary Order of Darkness skin called Veins of Silver, which has a palette with silver and gold. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Veins of Silver as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

Now that I think about it, do werewolves even exist in the Mortal Kombat universe? I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised since every other creature imaginable probably has some place in the world of MK. And it would give the Vaeternians their own enemy race seeing that the rivalry between vampires and werewolves is as old as time no matter the media!

#9: Wings of Betrayal

Wings of Betrayal? I love that book too!

Wings of Betrayal in action:

Start at 0:59

You mean how Netherrealm Studios betrayed us with this interpretation of Nitara? I’m kidding (Maybe) but even so, the Wings of Betrayal I’m talking about now is a common Deadly Alliance skin for Nitara and its palette contains red, black and brown. The Deadly Alliance skins can be bought at the Premium Store.

Now THIS is the Nitara we should have gotten! I remember how cool Nitara was back in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and how mysterious her outfit made her appear. And let’s not forget those thighs, which could give Chun Li a run for her money!

#10: Gory Mendacity

Bruce Lee called: he said “What did you do to my jumpsuit!?”

Gory Mendacity in action:

Start at 1:58

Well, nothing can really beat the OG Deadly Alliance skin, but this last skin does come pretty close! Gory Mendacity is another common Deadly Alliance skin containing a palette that has yellow and black. The Deadly Alliance skins can be bought at the Premium Store.

Yes, while most people may associate the colors in this skin with Bruce Lee, who was famous for his yellow and black jumpsuit, another person came to my mind as well. Before I knew who Bruce Lee was, I thought Kill Bill was the movie that made the yellow and black jumpsuit one of the most iconic outfits in film history! That was before my father introduced me to Kung Fu flicks and now I can’t picture Bruce Lee without that jumpsuit.

As much as we may hate her voice guys, we can’t say that everything about Mortal Kombat 1 Nitara is bad because of that. I thought Nitara looked alright when I first saw her MK1 trailer with Megan Fox! And after looking over her skins, I can almost ignore the fact that the Terminator sounds more human than Nitara does. ALMOST. So, let’s just admit that Nitara’s MK1 skins are cool and you should get them now while you can, okay?
