[Top 10] MK1 Best Mileena Skins (Ranked)

"Future empress coming through, peasants!"

Let me introduce you to the eldest daughter of Sindel and Jerrod, Mileena! We all know her as the half-Tarkatan sister/clone of Princess Kitana in the previous timeline, but as with many of MK1’s characters, Mileena’s story has been retconned.

And as the new Empress of Outworld, Mileena is willing to fight against those whom she once called allies in the past, including General Shao, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi. Along with all these changes to Mileena’s character, however, her stylish appearance will forever be a constant as seen with her Mortal Kombat 1 skins!

#1: Sindel’s Firstborn

And they say the firstborn is the responsible one

Sindel’s Firstborn in action:

Start at 1:46

Mileena is going to make sure you know she’s the eldest daughter, even if it is by only a few seconds. So, let’s start this list off with Sindel’s Firstborn, a common New Era skin for Mileena with a palette of white and magenta. To unlock Sindel’s Firstborn, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

As I mentioned before, Mileena used to be a clone of Kitana created using the princess’ blood and the blood of a Tarkatan. It’s cool that Mileena and Kitana are actually born as biological sisters in Mortal Kombat 1 rather than the empress being a product of Shang Tsung’s experimentation. Of course, you don’t have to share blood to be family, but I do like Mileena’s origins in MK1 better than in previous timelines.

#2: Jerrod’s Daughter

Mileena is definitely a daddy’s girl

Jerrod’s Daughter in action:

Start at 1:54

Hey, we can’t have Sindel’s Firstborn without including this New Era skin too! Jerrod’s Daughter is a common skin and its palette contains yellow and brown. To unlock Jerrod’s Daughter, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

We didn’t get to see King Jerrod when he was alive, but I like to think that he was much more lenient with his daughters than Sindel, especially when it came to Mileena. It’s pretty obvious that Kitana is Sindel’s favorite child as much as I hate to say it, and even Johnny has acknowledged that! Of course, I know Sindel cares deeply for Mileena, but was sometimes very harsh towards her eldest daughter.

#3: Grinning Flesheater

So…do you at least season the flesh before you eat it, Mileena?

Grinning Flesheater in action:

Start at 2:40

To think that any second Mileena could turn into a ruthless killer with a smile that can literally kill you. Here’s Grinning Flesheater, a common New Era skin that has a palette of black and red. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Grinning Flesheater as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

In past timelines, Tarkatans were a race that lived in Outworld and they were known for their grotesque appearance and their arm blades. But in Mortal Kombat 1, Tarkatans are actually people who are infected by a disease called Tarkat. Mileena is infected as well, but she was able to contain it using a temporary cure created by Shang Tsung.

#4: Sister of Light

This sister is absolutely glowing!

Sister of Light in action:

Start at 3:59

So glad to see that Mileena is finally fighting along with the Forces of Light! Starting off the Union of Light skins, we have this common skin Sister of Light, which has a palette containing white and different shades of blue. To unlock Sister of Light, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

When I saw the first Mortal Kombat 1 trailer, I really thought Mileena was going to become a bad guy even in this new timeline. I’m glad I was proven wrong, and I love that her and Kitana’s relationship has changed for the better! Take that, Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung!

#5: Empress of the Ages

Speaking of ages, Mileena looks pretty good for her age, right?

Empress of the Ages in action:

Start at 4:07

Bow down to the new Empress of Outworld, people! To celebrate Mileena’s recent coronation, here is Empress of the Ages, another common Union of Light skin with a palette of white, pink, and gray. To unlock Empress of the Ages, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

For a long time, Outworld’s citizens were actually pushing for Sindel to pass the title of empress to Kitana rather than Mileena. Mileena is known as being impulsive while Kitana is much more level-headed, so they believed the younger princess will make better decisions. But after the empress’ ending in MK1, I think Outworld’s people respect Mileena much more now that she was honest about her Tarkat infection.

#6: Snow Princess

I would make a Frozen joke, but Frost has that covered

Snow Princess in action:

Start at 4:57

Well, I think it would be more appropriate to call this skin “Snow Queen”, but it’s still cool nonetheless! This Union of Light skin called Snow Princess is a common skin and its palette contains different shades of blue. To unlock Snow Princess, you have to level up your Character Mastery.

The title of this skin reminded me of the book “The Snow Princess”, an original fairy tale by Ruth Sanderson. It’s about…well, the Snow princess, and how she falls in love with a shepard despite her parents warning her not to fall in love with anyone or she would lose her immortality. This forbidden love is similar to that between Mileena and Tanya, seeing as their whole relationship is risky because of Tanya’s position in the Umgadi.

#7: Joyful Royal

“Oh, I just can’t wait to be QUEEEEEEEEEN!”

Joyful Royal in action:

Start at 6:27

Yeah, I can see Mileena being a party girl if she wasn’t infected with Tarkat. But even so, we got this Shiva Ranatai skin called Joyful Royal, which is a common skin, and it has a palette with pink, purple, and white. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Joyful Royal as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

In Mortal Kombat 1’s story mode, there were a few occasions where Mileena was having fun, such as during the Mortal Kombat tournament and the Sun Do Festival. But her joy never lasts for long because SOME PEOPLE just can’t let her have one second of happiness! Look, I know Sindel and Kitana were just trying to keep Mileena safe, but jeez, they really need to relax a little!

#8: Regal Celebration

Let’s party like royalty, baby!

Regal Celebration in action:

Start at 6:35

When the royal family throws a party, they throw a party for real! This next Shiva Ranatai skin, which is also a common skin, is called Regal Celebration and the palette for this skin contains mainly monochromatic with different shades of blue. There are no specific requirements needed to obtain Regal Celebration as you can get it from the Shrine or purchase it from the store.

Speaking of celebration, the first time Mileena is seen with the Shiva Ranatai outfit is during the Sun Do Festival alongside Kitana. But personally, I like the Regal Celebration palette better than the one Mileena was wearing at the festival. That royal blue really gives off the sense of nobility to me.

#9: Psychotic Episode

You know, she would fit right in at Arkham

Psychotic Episode in action:

Start at 7:30

Don’t worry Mileena, people think I’m crazy too because I believe in unicorns…ignore that last part. But Psychotic Episode in this case refers to a common Kannibal Killer skin with a palette of white and gray. This skin is available in the Premium Store.

Thinking back to the first time we see Mileena’s Tarkatan side in MK1’s story, she couldn’t control any of her actions. Her violent behavior even resulted in Kenshi losing his eyesight, something he calls “a blessing in disguise”. But even so, it does make me wonder what exactly was going on in Mileena’s head during her rampage.

#10: Malicious Intent

Mileena, violence isn’t the answer. It’s the question…and the answer is YES!

Malicious Intent in action:

Start at 7:42

When it comes to having malicious intent, the Mileenas from previous timelines take the cake! The last skin on the list, another common Kannibal Killer skin, is Malicious Intent and it has a pretty simple palette of red. This skin is available in the Premium Store.

The excessive use of red in Malicious Intent gave me some seriously bad vibes, even though red is my favorite color. But while red can represent passion and love, it can also represent something sinister and dangerous. This Mileena skin is definitely going towards the latter.

As a beauty and a beast, Mileena is a force to be reckoned with, but she’s also a very kind soul, at least in this new timeline. I think even Liu Kang believed the empress deserved a chance at a good life and now Mileena is ruling Outworld with her family and friends at her side. So, show Empress Mileena some love and get these cool MK1 skins for her now! And do it quickly, because Mileena isn’t known for being patient…
