[Top 5] Dead By Daylight Best Steve Harrington Builds That Are Excellent

Steve Harrington. What is so unique about Steve?....His hair. Most people like Steve because of his fantastic hairstyle, and there have been trends on the 'magic product behind Steve Harrington's glorious hair'. Hair is one of Steve's uniqueness, but most importantly, Steve is a great Baby Sitter. If you watched Stranger things, you realise that Steve has to take care of all the kid-like muppets wherever he goes and often acts like a surrogate big brother to Dustin, one of the characters in Stranger things, who later on, #spoiler alert #, reveals Steve's magic ingredients to his hairstyle in season 2, episode 9, in the scene where Dustin has the most fabulous hairstyle in the whole Snow Ball.
Nonetheless, Let's take a look at Steve's Best Builds that will make the Killers want Steve's hair:
5. The Babysitter Steve Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by Ayrun
The Babysitter Steve Build is a great build where you are the supporter throughout the teammates. Using the perks such as vigil, guardian and bond, you can help the teammates as much as possible and simultaneously speed up the process, such as in a situation where a survivor is injured, and therefore, you can heal them.
What The Baby Sitter Steve Build Excels In:
- Vigil and Renewal combination where you can recover from Renewal much faster by using the perk Vigil, with a maximum speed of 30%.
- The perk, bond, will let you see other survivors, and at the same time, be able to use vigil on other survivors whilst seeing them much easier by using Bond.
Build details & Perks:
- Vigil: Increases your Recovery rate from Blindness, Broken, Exhaustion, Exposed, Haemorrhage, Hindered, and Oblivious Status Effects by 20/25/30 %. This effect also applies to all other Survivors within 8 metres of your location and lingers for 15 seconds.
- Bond: The Auras of all other Survivors within 20/28/36 metres of your location are revealed to you.
- Renewal (old version: Second Wind): When you heal another Survivor for the equivalent of 1 Health State, Renewal activates: The next time you are unhooked or unhook yourself, you suffer from the Broken Status Effect until Renewal deactivates. You are automatically healed 1 Health State after 28/24/20 seconds.
- Guardian (old version: Baby Sitter): When you unhook a Survivor, the rescued Survivor benefits from the following effects for 4/6/8 seconds: Scratch Marks and Pools of Blood are suppressed. 7 % Haste Status Effect, boosting their Movement speed. Guardian reveals the Killer's Aura to you for 8 seconds.
4. The Supporter Steve Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by WoozyPoo
The Supported Steve Build is a build that focuses on your teammates' support. However, it requires a bit of sacrifice to do that. For instance, the perk Kinship only works whilst you are on the hook, and the occurrence of being on a theme with a survivor who is within 16 metres is quite rare yet possible. Nevertheless, the perks that focus on solo survival would be the double heal state perks renewal and adrenaline, which will automatically give you an additional health state from the injured, either when the generators are powered up or unhooked.
What The Supporter Steve Excels In:
- The ability of Kinship, where you can pause the timer of your teammate who is on the hook and at the same be able to use the perk Guardian on the survivor in case the killer comes back, having a more challenging time looking for the survivor who was just unhooked.
- Double heal state abilities from the perks of Renewal and Adrenaline.
Build details & Perks:
- Kinship (Camaraderie): While you are on the Hook in the Struggle Phase, Kinship activates: If another Survivor is within 16 metres of your Hook. At the same time, Kinship is active; the Struggle Phase timer is paused for 26/30/34 seconds.
- Adrenaline: The perk Adrenaline activates when all the generators are completed, raising one health state and a 150% speed boost for 5 seconds.
3. Buckle up Bois Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by Torsti56
The buckle-up Bois build will turn this build into a great ride. First of all, the build lets you see practically everything with the survivors on the map that you almost wouldn't need to use Bond. This build is at the number 3 place because it allows you to maximise the teammate's gameplay, making this the most potent 'supporter' build within this article, especially for steve, whilst using his speciality perk 'guardian'. Nonetheless, I would recommend this build to anyone who wants competitive gameplay and play the role of a 'doctor'.
What The Buckle Up Bois Build Excels In:
- The perks allow you to see every survivor's critical situation and the killer's aura whilst using the perk Buckle Up and Guardian.
- Benefits the support you give to your teammates, where you can heal the survivors in the safest way possible whilst seeing the aura and then having the perk, Lithe, to escape from the situation.
Build details & Perks:
- Guardian (old version: Baby Sitter): When you unhook a Survivor, the rescued Survivor benefits from the following effects for 4/6/8 seconds: Scratch Marks and Pools of Blood are suppressed. 7 % Haste Status Effect, boosting their Movement speed. Guardian reveals the Killer's Aura to you for 8 seconds.
- Lithe: After performing a rushed vault, break into a sprint of 150 % of your normal Running Movement speed for 3 seconds. Lithe causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Aftercare: You see the Aura of the last 1/2/3 Survivor(s): You have rescued from a Hook, or who has rescued you from a Hook. You have completed a Healing action on, or who have completed a Healing action on you. They also see your Aura.
- Buckle up: You can determine the Recovery progress of dying Survivors by the intensity of their Aura at a distance of 48 metres away. When healing another Survivor from the Dying State to the Injured State, the Killer's Aura is revealed to both of you for 6/8/10 seconds.
2. Anti-Tunnel with the Wind Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by Naymeti
The Anti-tunnel build is a build that will make the killer not tunnel you ever again. However, the killer doesn't know the perks you have, and therefore you will give the most pain you can to the killer. Thus for our specialities in this build, we have a Decisive strike, for which you can escape the killer's grasp and then either run away or continue the chase with the killer to waste time. Nonetheless, similarly, as the build placed at number 4, we have double heal states renewal and adrenaline, which can save your life in the game, and it's amusing when you are running with the killer injured. Then the last generator pops, releasing the satisfaction, causing the killer to rage most of the time. Therefore, I recommend this build to players who want to play with the killer.
What The Anti-Tunnel with the Wind Build In:
- Anti-tunnelling strategy, where you cannot die so quickly, and you get instant heals from two perks, Adrenaline and Renewal.
- A decisive strike is an excellent perk in case of the killer tunnels you, or it is great when you want to keep up the chase whilst the teammates are doing the generators.
Build details & Perks:
- Decisive Strike: Whilst getting picked up by the killer, the perk enables you to escape their grasp by succeeding in the perks' skill check and automatically stunning the killer for 5 seconds.
- Dead Hard: This perk allows you to dash forward when pressing the perk ability button, avoiding damage. Causes exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Adrenaline: The perk Adrenaline activates when all the generators are completed, raising one health state and a 150% speed boost for 5 seconds.
1. The Clutch Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by Ayrun
The Clutch Build takes the number 1 spot on this list for many reasons, mainly because it is a solo build, and therefore it has many advantages with the stylistic gameplay, where you can be the leader, the bait or the chaser of the game. Nonetheless, it has everything you need that is required in the game, such as a bond to see the survivors; iron will work in case if injured and want to avoid the killer at all costs, dead hard if Iron will doesn't work and lastly, of course, Steve's perk Renewal which heals you if unhooked. Everything you need basically for a solo experience. Nonetheless, it is an excellent build for beginners and solo survivors.
What The Clutch Build Excels In:
- Bond and Renewal, where when Renewal is active, you can use in-game tactics to avoid your teammates (using bond) and then be in a chase with the killer long enough so that you are fully healed and therefore continue the chase with no hesitation and speed up the game's process whilst the teammates are doing the generators.
- Exhaustion perk, dead hard, in case of an emergency whilst being in a chase, and using the tactics with bond and renewal saves even more time.
Build details & Perks:
- Renewal (old version: Second Wind): When you heal another Survivor for the equivalent of 1 Health State, Renewal activates: The next time you are unhooked or unhook yourself, you suffer from the Broken Status Effect until Renewal deactivates. You are automatically healed 1 Health State after 28/24/20 seconds.
- Bond: The Auras of all other Survivors within 20/28/36 metres of your location are revealed to you.
- Dead Hard: This perk allows you to dash forward when pressing the perk ability button, avoiding damage. Causes exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Iron Will: Lowers the volume of Grunts of Pain by 50/75/100%.
