What Armor Sets Made Our Top 10 List?

Choosing your armor in Halo 5 is a big deal.  Whether you enjoy the tasks the armor were made for or your choice is based strictly on cosmetics, everyone has their favorite suits of armor.  Here is our list for the top ten best sets in Halo 5.

10. Void Dancer

The Void Dancer armor is a variant of the Mjolnir armor developed by Emerson Tactical Systems.  You can unlock this armor set in game with a Legendary REQ card.

What’s cool about this unique set of armor is that it doesn’t meet all Mjolnir standards, instead being designed for exoatmospheric operation and to be extremely tactical, making the higher ups at ONI uncomfortable.  Wearing this set makes you feel like a rebel and look like a badass.

9. Shinobi

The Shinobi armor is one of the most sought-after sets in Halo 5.  Meaning “ninja”, this suit was made for one thing, stealth operations.  You can snag this set of armor with an Ultra Rare REQ card. What’s cool about this armor is that is has no known manufacturer but ONI worked to integrate it with the GEN2 Mjolnir suits for superior stealth op missions.  Found on an abandoned freighter, wearing this suit gives the user the same air of mystery as the armor itself.

8. Mark V Alpha

You all knew this armor set was going to make the list.  The Mark V, an upgrade from the Mark VI, is one of the armors worn by the Master Chief himself.  This set and the variants can be yours in-game with a Legendary or Mythic REQ card, so good luck with your REQ packs.  What’s cool about this particular set is it was the first to allow ability upgrades like armor lock, active camouflage, hologram, and sprint.  If you’re a fan of the extra abilities, this suit will bring back good memories.

7.  Hunter

The Hunter class armor is a prototype variant made special for target acquisition.  The only way to obtain this wicked armor was through a Gamestop pre-order or in-game with a Mythic REQ card.  What makes this set so badass is that it’s the armor worn by Spartan Jameson Locke of Fireteam Osiris during Halo 5’s campaign.  Locke was a great character introduced into the series, his suit was fitted with the Artemis Tracking System bringing additional sensor enhancements.  Plus the parts of the armor that glow just add to intimidation factor.

6.  Noble Honor

The Noble Honor set is a variant made for battle network management.  A Legendary REQ card will score you this sweet armor. The armor is named after the incredible NOBLE Team, who’s known for their hard work and sacrifice during the Fall of Reach.  From the helmet attachments alone it was fitted for hardened battlenet uplinks. Also fans of the GEN1 Commando armor can appreciate this upgrade from the old set, it means business.

5.  Technician

The Technician set is a variant used by Spartan combat engineers and field technicians.  You can unlock this armor in-game with a Mythic REQ card. This armor was made famous by Holly Tanaka, who worked under Locke on Fireteam Osiris.  Technician was created for the wearer to be a mobile diagnostics center, customized with a battlenet node and machine interlink that can process huge amounts of data as well as scan living creatures.  The sleek design and accents make this a must-have for those wanting the best armor.

4. Mark IV Regent

The Mark VI is one of the most recognizable sets of armor in Halo.  Acquiring this will take a Legendary REQ card. Anyone who has ever played Halo will know this armor thanks to Master Chief over the years.  Used for general combat, there are a lot of variants to the Mark VI that were featured throughout the Human-Covenant War including ODST and the variants in the Fall of Reach.  The Mjolnir Mark VI can be modified in so many different ways for multiple uses, having this classic base set is a must for all fans.

3.  War Master Augustan

The War Master armor was built for one thing, versatility.  Unlock this mean looking armor with a Legendary REQ card. The obvious standout feature of this armor is the helmet.  The visor is arguably the most intimidating in the entire game with the skull depiction. The suit itself was built with a shield recoupler, improving armor resiliency as well as a plane-reactor that increases mobility through weight distribution.  When it comes to multiplayer, players who have unlocked this armor wear it because it makes them look mean and ready to face any challenge that comes their way.

2.  Scout Outrider

The Scout armor, minimalistic and badass all in one package.  To get the Scout Outrider armor you’ll need a Legendary REQ card.  Made for scouting purposes, the Scout armor is used for recon missions and infiltration, along with the best snipers.  The two legendary Spartans Linda and Jun wore Scout armor, leaving legions of fans wanting to look like the two fan favorites.  The suit features anti-tracking systems, improving the armor’s stealth capabilities without hindering endurance. Along with sensor shrouding, Scout armor has AI-assisted observation uplinks to aid in aerospace and orbital strikes.  Wearing this armor with a sniper rifle in your hands will make you look and feel like the UNSC’s greatest marksman.

1. Wrath

Show of hands, who saw this coming as the number one pick?  Yeah, we thought so. Only obtainable with a Legendary Mythic REQ card, this armor is modeled after the custom suit used by NOBLE Team’s Emile.  The armor comes stacked with grenades on the chest, extra shotgun shells on the forearm, and a kukri knife fitted up near the shoulder; there’s not a meaner looking set of armor in all of Halo.  The cherry on top of this munitions cake is the death’s head engraving on the visor. When enemies see this, it’s game over.
