Ark Survival Evolved Xbox One: How to get more Hide

In Ark Survival, Hide can be collected by harvesting any corpse that isn’t a fish or invertebrate. You can use almost any tool or dinosaur to harvest this resource, so the question is not how to get Hide, but what is the most efficient way to do so? This method is perfect for an early gamer who doesn’t have the skills and resources to tame a nice dinosaur. If you want to get decent amounts of Hide, simply kill your targets using a bow or a spear and harvest the corpses with a Metal Hatchet. This tool guarantees the best amount of Hide for your level. What are you waiting for? Craft a Metal Hatchet and go hunting for Dodos and Paras. 

How it works: 

• Craft a Metal Hatchet. It becomes available early in the game and it doesn’t even require many resources 
• Kill any invertebrate you find. Well…don’t go for the big ones yet, it may not be the best idea

The Therizinosaurus is generally a great gatherer and one of the most versatile mounts a player can get. What makes it great is the variety of attacks it can perform, from delicate to aggressive, helping you harvest with great efficiency the specific kind of resources you need. Use the “C attack” and you’ll be swimming in Hide in no time! Moreover, if set on wander, this amazing dinosaur will collect various materials for you and despite its docile appearance, it is an aggressive creature. After all, its cousin is the famous Rex.

• Tame a Theri. Tips: this dinosaur loves crops and exceptional Kibble 
• Use its attack to kill your target or simply use it for harvesting
• Get great amounts of Hide easily

ARK Survival Evolved#3| SABERTOOTH FARMING

We are advancing to the dinosaurs that are specialized in harvesting Hide, as they present the highest gain per action. The Sabertooth, also known as the Smilodon, is one of the best choices when it comes to killing and getting insane amounts of Hide simultaneously. It is generally found in cold, wooded areas, such as mountains. Even as an early gamer, this incredible creature can be your best companion, as it isn’t extremely hard to tame and has way better stats than the most accessible dinos. Use it as a hunter, battle mount, or even as an escape vehicle!

How it works: 

• Tame this aggressive carnivore. Its saddle becomes available as soon as level 37 
• Ride your Sabertooth and enjoy the amazing views of the map, while also killing the dinosaurs you encounter. 
• Use it as a harvester and collect your Hide

Best dino to farm Hide & pelt Ark survival evolved

A dog is a man’s best friend. Well, in this case, a wolf is an even better companion. The Direwolf is an incredible creature, not only for combat but also for harvesting Hide and pelt at unbelievable rates. As it is usually found in the Snow Biome, it is the perfect tool for surviving the cold and frost-covered regions. Even better, the Direwolf can be tamed as soon as you reach the Mid-Game and it doesn’t require a saddle. Compared to the other “pack” dinosaurs, this creature has the highest damage per set of attacks, so killing will be as easy as harvesting. 

How it works:

• Take a trip to the Snow Biome and tame a Direwolf
• Enjoy its abilities and take advantage of this innate hunter 
• Harvest some Hide

Ark Basics Giganotosaurus - TAMING THE KING OF ARK - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Any generic carnivore will do a great job at harvesting Hide. Some are better than others, but for the beginning, go for the most accessible one. After a while, you can try taming a Rex or even a Giga. The Giganotosaurus is the preferred option when it comes to harvesting Hide, as it has an excellent gain per action. Moreover, if you manage to tame this enormous dinosaur, the benefits will be unmeasurable. Because of its dimensions, it can kill almost any creatures that stand in its way, being a great Alpha hunter and the mount with the highest damage output of all creatures. If you think you have what it takes, try taming the King of Ark and get the best amount of Hide there is!

• Prepare yourself for the challenge
• Tame a Giga. Its preferred food is Raw Mutton and Exceptional Kibble is a great idea for taming.
• Kill any dinosaur easily and harvest the Hide without any effort
