Genshin Impact Best Swords
Representing the Sword users, Keqing

With a total of 8 characters who use Sword , Swords are the most used weapon in Genshin Impact. It is also one of the first weapons we get to use, as the MC is a Sword user.

As of ver. 1.4., there are a total of 24 Swords in the game with varying rates from 1 star to 5 stars. Some of them you get through events, some through wishes, some you can buy, and some you can get for free.

Sword users’ attacks are somewhat faster than Claymore, because it is not as heavy. Furthermore, using Charged Attacks with a Sword can result in an AoE.

Here are the 5 best swords in Genshin Impact.

5. Festering Desire

The Festering Desire enters the list for a lot of reasons.

This limited-edition Sword is a reward from The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event. In other words, it’s free. On top of that, if you actually finish all of the quests from that event, the Sword is fully refined to its 5th Refinement. It’s not easy to get that far with your usual four-starred weapons.

With a 42 Base ATK in Level 1, which can be maxed to 510, this sword increases DMG by Elemental Skill by 16% and its CRIT Rate by 6%. On its 5th Refinement, that means the numbers are raised to 32% and 12% respectively.

The substat of Festering Desire is Energy Recharge, which is numbered 10% on Lv. 1 and 45.9% on Lv. 90.

With all of these stats given by the Sword, it’s clear that the Sword is meant to be used for your Elemental Sword users rather than Physical.

Weapon details:

  • Stars: 4
  • How to Get: The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event.
  • Base ATK: 42

4. The Black Sword

The Black Sword is an exclusive Sword that can be obtained through Battle Pass.

The four-starred weapon is very suitable for your main DPS, as it increases DMG done through Normal and Charged Attacks by 20%~40%.

On top of that, it also regenerates 60%-~100% of ATK as HP at the chance of Normal and Charged Attacks score CRIT Hit. This can only occur once every 5 seconds. The % is according to its Refinement level.

The base ATK of this Sword is 42, and can be maxed to 510 on Lv. 90. With CRIT Rate as a substat that starts at 6% and can be maxed to 27.6%.

In a way, the fact that it has CRIT Rate as a substat is pretty self-explanatory. CRIT Rate rarely appears as a main stat on artifacts, so to be able to boost your CRIT Rate through your weapon is a big win for sure.

Weapon details:

3. Skyward Blade

The Sword from the Skyward families comes in 3rd place.

As a five-starred Sword, Skyward Blade’s Base ATK is 46 with a maximum of 608 on its 90th level. The substat is Energy Recharge, with a start of 12% and 55.1% as its maximum.

The effect of its Refinement is to increase its CRIT Rate by 4%~8%. Triggering Elemental Burst will gain Skypiercing Might, which increases Movement SPD and ATK SPD by 10%, and also increases DMG done by Normal and Charged Attack hits by 20%~40% for 12 seconds. The % may vary because of its Refinement level.

This Sword is much suitable for characters that spams Elemental Burst. Additionally, it’s also not a bad choice for your main DPS as it increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG after activating Elemental Burst.

2. Aquila Favonia

Aquila Favonia is arguably one of the best swords in the game, with its base ATK being 48, the highest number compared to others, and all its effects that follow.

At its max level, the ATK can go for as much as 674. With Physical DMG as its substat, this Sword is perfect for your DPS. The Physical DMG Bonus starts at 9% and can be maxed to 41.3%.

If this isn’t great enough, Aquila Favonia also increases ATK by 20~40%. Taking damage means triggering the soul of the Falcon of the West, which regenerates HP equal to 100~160% of ATK and dealing 200~320% of ATK as DMG. This effect can only occur once every 15 seconds. The % varies according to its Refinement level.

That being said, this sword is just perfect to use in a battle.

1. Primordial Jade Cutter

As one of the newest weapons in the game, Primordial Jade Cutter is quick to make its way to the top of the list.

This Sword has a base ATK of 44 and can be maxed to 542. This is pretty low for a five-starred weapon, but the effects that follow more than makes up for it.

Its substat is CRIT Rate, starting with the base of 9.6% and 44.1% at maximum. Again, this is pretty self-explanatory. Having an additional 44.1% of CRIT Rate is simply a dream, as CRIT Rate isn’t easy to find in artifacts.

Furthermore, this weapon increases HP by 20~40% and even provides ATK Bonus based on 1.2~2.4% of the wielder’s Max HP. The % varies to its Refinement level.

Weapon details:

  • At its max level, it can boost CRIT Rate to 44.1%
