Genshin Impact Best Anemo Characters (Ranked Worst to Best)

The boy who helped Barbatos become the Anemo Archon

The god of Anemo is the god of Freedom (as well as wine but that doesn’t affect us right now). Thus, it’s obvious the people who possess an Anemo Vision will be free spirits, with the will to go against the currents.

In this guide, you’ll learn about the 7 characters with Anemo powers, who is the best and who is the worst, their abilities, and how to give them the best use.

7. Traveller (Enabler, Sub-DPS)

In the last place is the Traveller. Without Paimon because Paimon is the best. Even without a Vision, both Aether and Lumine got the blessing of the archon, and are able to use the Anemo powers of the region.

Their main use is crowd control. Both skill and burst create whirlwinds (which also absorb other elements) that inflict damage while putting their enemies together. Just ready for a final hit from your DPS.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • Elemental Skill and Burst offer crowd control.
  • Normal Attack combo can apply Anemo.
  • Elemental Skill and Burst can absorb and deal additional Elemental DMG.
  • 6th Constellation can reduce enemy Elemental RES.

6. Sayu (Enabler, Healer)

Sayu is the first ninja shown in the game, with Shinobu being the next ninja character to be added. Sayu is a friend of the tanuki, so both her dress and her powers are related to these animals.

Her elemental skill helps explore and battle lots of enemies. It allows you to roll around while dealing swirl damage. Moreover, she’s a healer, using her elemental burst to create a healing and damaging area.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • Elemental Burst can both heal and deal Anemo DMG.
  • Swirl reactions restore HP when Sayu is active.
  • Passive talent lets you sneak up on some wildlife.

5. Sucrose (Enabler, Healer)

In Mondstadt, as a Knight of Favonious, Sucrose works as an alchemist researching the various properties of Sweet Flowers. Together with Albedo, she uses her Vision to help her inside the laboratory and outside.

When she goes out, she needs to be wary of monsters, and so that’s where her Vision comes from. She also excels at crowd control, with a skill with two charges and a burst that allows her to contain enemies in an area.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • Boosts party's Elemental Mastery.
  • Elemental Burst and Skill groups enemies together.
  • Elemental Skill can gain multiple charges.

4. Jean (DPS, Battery, Healer)

With Mondstadt being the city of freedom, it’s understandable there are two people with an Anemo Vision. The second case is Jean, this time with a higher position, but also in the Knights of Favonius.

Half-healer and half-DPS, Jean is a character that can help in lots of roles. Moreover, her skill is one of the best at crowd controlling in the game, launching enemies far far away.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • Elemental Skill can function as crowd control.
  • Normal Attacks heal the party.
  • Elemental Burst provides AoE Burst Heal and DMG.

3. Xiao (DPS)

Xiao is a Jaksha from Liyue. He’s now a helper of Morax but was saved and given a vision by Barbatos. That’s why he has his Anemo powers. Those, he mixes with the Jaksha curse he receives from his mission.

Transforming into a god-killing monster, Xiao’s basic attacks transform into Anemo attacks, his jumping ability is increased and his plunging damage can go up to the thousands. He uses his powers for good, so just call him and he’ll use them for you.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • His Elemental Burst allows him to strike from the air and come crashing down on foes.
  • Elemental Skill makes him suitable for exploration
  • Close-range attacks are fast and easy to use.
  • Able to deal massive damage without constellations unlocked.
  • Plunging at any height with Xiao won't result in taking DMG.

2. Venti (Sub-DPS, Enabler, Battery)

Obviously, the Anemo Archon has to be on the podium. This time he gets the silver medal. Venti is his name as a human, Barbatos the formal one. Even so, he’s as powerful when she passes as a human.

He’s the king of killing mobs, like lots of slimes or small hilichurls. With a vortex that attracts even those big Fatui guys, he can deal damage and kill lots of enemies from afar, with just an elemental burst.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • High Energy Recharge rate.
  • Elemental Skill makes exploration easy.
  • Great Crowd Control, Elemental Burst groups up enemies and absorbs elements.
  • Can deal massive damage without his constellations unlocked.

1. Kaedehara Kazuha (Sub-DPS, Enabler, Battery)

You may say, why is the Anemo Archon in second place instead of first place? Well, that’s because Kazuha exists. The best Anemo support, and probably the best support above all. Coming from Inazuma, this samurai takes it all.

With a high-damaging kit, he can also control enemies for a long time, excelling in movement and exploration and in buffing your team. He can do everything, in battle and life. His dark past doesn’t make him less friendly to the Traveller.

What Makes This Character Great:

  • High Elemental Mastery buffs to support team
  • Acts like a ''battery'' for Energy Recharge
  • Powerful passive Swirl DMG as a Sub DPS
  • Easy exploration with Skill and Passive Talent

For me, Venti is the best archon and Kazuha is the best character. That’s why I love this element. However, even with different preferences, you have to accept the Anemo Visions confer amazing powers, and any characters with them are worth wishing for. I hope you liked this guide!
