[Top 10] Garry's Mod Best Co-Op Maps

Garry's Mod Best Co-Op Maps
Co-op maps are fun, unless you don’t have friends(like me!)

Hi guys, today I’m gonna present to you some fun co-op maps for Garry's Mod, there was a time when I was on a CO-OP map marathon with one of my homies and we would play countless maps, some of ‘em were horror maps, some of ‘em were adventure maps, but we eventually gave up on them when we ran out of good maps and we were left with horrible abominations called ‘’Maps”.

But yeah boys, today I’m gonna talk about some CO-OP maps, if I had any friends left today I’d prolly wouldn’t be writing this article and playin’ some Gmod with the boyzz, but instead I’m addicted to playing Dota 2 nowadays. And crack.

10. Horror Raid

For ppl who like to kill teh zamwbies!

It’s a pretty cool map that I’ve had plenty of fun with my homie, you spawn on some pretty road surrounded by greenery, but all that is about to change when you have to investigate a strange building filled with spooky zombies and yadi yada. You know the deal, tight corners, zamwbies, and consuming darkness!

What's Fun About Horror Raid:

  • A map with gritty atmosphere
  • Gets pretty intense at times
  • The zombie models are actually not the standard “headcrab zombies”, which is a nice change.

9. Unknown World Part 1

When you come back home and she’s horny 24/7

Hey, it’s not a bad map. It’s a pretty smart, simple, straightforward map made for folk who don’t care too much about complex puzzles and just linear sort of gameplay. That’s how I like it and I recommend it to anyone who has a lazy brain!

What’s great about Unknown World Part 1:

  • Pretty linear playthrough
  • You don’t need anything else besides CS:S mounted up
  • Headcrab, apply directly to the forehead!

8. Abducted 1 - The Escape (CO-OP)

Abductingo!

Alright boys, welcome to Abducted part 1, goddamn - there are 4 parts in total and they’re all pretty lengthy, I don’t remember quite well but this map took me around 1.5 hours(mostly cuz my homie had to eat or smtn, but it’s still pretty long). It has its own story and loopholed music. Did I say it’s pretty hard?

What’s awesome about Abducted 1 - The Escape:

  • Difficult map
  • Some voice acting
  • You can set a player limit via the CO-OP Gamemode addon(make sure to install it)

7. Forgotten Asylum [Horror Map]

Always make your friends go down that hole first.

Obviously, it’s a horror map, why soil your panties alone when you can with your friend? Horror maps are always fun to play with your friend as plenty of things can occur, such as arguments, playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who’s going to enter a creepy room first, randomly killing each other, and plenty of other spicy things. Give this map a try, it’s pretty cool.

What’s awesome about Forgotten Asylum:

  • Few puzzles here and there
  • The map is dark as hell(spooky atmosphere level 100)
  • “you know it's a good horror map when you shit yourself around every corner” - legend 360

6.Southtown Escape [adventure]

Could it be Texas?

Why is this map so yellow? But anyway, it’s a nice change of pace to not include a map that’s either related to zombies or horror, or both. As in the name, you’re located in an unknown town that’s located in the “south” - a bunch of rebels are hiding there from the combines, but all that is to change when your lovely town gets invaded and you have to fight your way through the hordes of combines!

What’s awesome about Southtown Escape [adventure]:

  • Simple adventure map
  • Eye-grabbing yellow filter(in a good way)
  • A little bit of voice acting is also here!

5. gm_thebasement_2

Some men just want to see men burn.

This map is as good as the screenshots on the Steam Workshop page, I promise. Long story short, you wake up in a tight cell in an unknown house, it’s unclear how you ended up there, but all you know is that there are intruders that mean harm. It’s your job to blow their brains out and get out of there without a scratch. Or too many scratches!

What’s awesome about gm_thebasement 2:

  • For an escape map, it has some pretty scary parts
  • Awesome map mechanics(mindduckery)
  • Boss fights

4. gm_paranormal

Spooky spookiness

Another map, it’s pretty similar to gm_hide, if you don’t know what that map is, check my article about horror maps(seriously, it’s a pretty good article) - you can play this badass map by yourself(wear a diaper or a buttplug), or with friends. The reason why it’s similar to gm_hide is because of the ghost detector device, it’s supposed to help you avoid ghosts and collect keycards. Try this map, pretty cool!

What’s awesome about gm_paranormal:

  • You can play this map with up to 4 players
  • Very scary atmosphere
  • Pretty challenging, you gotta put in work to unlock new areas

3. GM_CoolMission

Very cool mission.

I like this one, it offers tight corridors and plenty of combat, the fun is multiplied if you’re playing with weapon addons. To be honest, there’s not much to say about this map other than I’ve just had a lot of fun killing combines in slow-motion with my M4. It’s a nice breeze of fresh air after playing zombie/spooky maps. Try it for yourself!

What’s awesome about GM_coolmission:

  • Tight corridors
  • 24/7 Action
  • Cool!

2. GM_Redox

Why not Redux? ughhh w/e

Welcome to RedOx, it’s simply a puzzle map mixed up with a bit of action, feel free to bring your friends along the ride and solve puzzles together, if that’s your thang. The map has plenty of levels with different puzzles, some of ‘em deadly, some of ‘em pretty peaceful and there are some in between.

What’s awesome about GM_Redox:

  • Some levels are difficult
  • Eye-pleasing map design
  • Puzzles bruh. Puzzles.

1. EVAC (CO-OP)

YABBA MY ICING

Well, this is my favorite map out of all the mentioned ones. I like it, cuz the zombies don’t have headcrabs on their heads, which serves immersion right, at least a little bit.

The map has different levels and you break through a wall of zombies time and time again till you reach Philadelphia for an evac.

I understand that it’s another zombie map, you gotta understand boys, I was raised on L4D 1&2, Dead Island, and some other zombie games so I had to pick this map. I’m pretty sure you’ll love it, I surely did, now let’s get into PLAYING those maps!

What’s awesome about Evac:

The map has multiple levels

Well designed for the most part

Generally, pretty fun to play

To sum it all up folks, these maps are pretty special, cuz they require you to have FRIENDS to play them - so get out of there and find some! *sniff, sniff*.

Did my best to rate those maps from the least best to the best, but I suggest you, fellas, to try all of them out, as a lot of work was put into them and they’re worth a try.
