Being a clandestine general has its downfalls, as everyone is hell-bent to defeat you! As for our Admiral Kunkka, he has quite a few foes that can not stand the sight of him. Obviously who else has the might to lead the phantom pirates and slay countless demons both in and out of the water!

We bring you the best 10 heroes who are the best at countering Kunkka. They have it all, the spells, item builds, and even voice lines that can mentally tilt Kunkka players! If executed perfectly, there is no way the Kunkka survives team fights!

 

10. Mirana

Mirana is a ranged agility hero who is considered to be a flexible pick, meaning it can be played in pretty much all roles. Play support and see enemy picking Kunkka? Just pick Mirana as roaming support or lane support! Or the other way around, you could also try playing it mid to compete and lane against the giant Kunkka.

Why is Mirana Great against Kunkka? 

  • Leap can be used to dodge Torrent.
  • If you time it correctly, you can even leap out of the X-Mark!
  • Global invisibility ultimate allows your allies to escape if being hunted by Kunkka.
  • Great to poke and prod Kunkka in the lane.

Being a ranged hero does wonders especially if you’re against melee heroes in the mid-lane. Kunkka does not fare well if he is facing OD. The INT disparity damage is simply too much to handle for our fellow admiral, this combined with the magical damage output and Astral save can turn around team fights. OD is essentially a beast against Kunkka in the late game!

Why is Outworld Devourer Great against Kunkka? 

  • You can Astral yourself or your allies if they’re about to get combo’d
  • Menace in the laning stage 1v1
  • Relies more on kills to get farm, meaning more rotations and faster item timings compared to Kunkka
  • Pure damage is dealt with Sanity’s Eclipse, penetrating Ghostship buff, and dealing extreme damage due to INT disparity.

Sniper does heaps of physical damage to his foes quite early in the game, this is only amplified when he reached the late stage of the game against Kunkka. Sniper can do immense damage from miles away!

Why is Sniper Great against Kunkka? 

  • Annoyance in the laning phase in a purely 1v1 matchup
  • Does more with little farm, can shove Kunkka out of the lane effortlessly 
  • Assassinate targets enemies with low health due to the Ghostship buff
  • With Take Aim, Sniper can sit out of cast range and deal heavy damage to Kunkka.

Healing Ward is immensely useful if used to save allies after or before the combo! Known to farm fast, Juggernaut can always have the upper hand if he is given a free rein against Kunkka!

Why is Juggernaut Great against Kunkka? 

  • Rage negates all of Kunkka’s magical abilities
  • Assassinate can target allies who are still alive with low health because of Ghostship's buff.
  • Headshot makes it harder for Kunkka to position/escape and makes it hard for Kunkka to hit with Tidebringer.

Ursa does require a few items to come online, but once he has all he needs, he can be a deadly and unstoppable force! Kunkka cannot withstand the force of Ursa in the late game!

Why is Ursa Great against Kunkka? 

  • Massive physical damage that shreds through Boat buff.
  • Earthshock slows down Kunkka’s movement speed which makes him easy prey further amplified by Aghanm’s shard.
  • Enrage can be activated before being hit by Ghostship to prevent most of the damage.

3. Silencer

They say silence is deafening, it’s quite true in this case as Silencer is known to rip through his enemies if played as a core. As a mid laner, Silencer can harass Kunkka out of the lane to hence disrupt his farm. Even if Silencer is played as a support, he is known to have an impact against Kunkka due to his spells and how well they synergize with his teammates. 

Why is Silencer Great against Kunkka? 

  • AoE spells can’t be used by Kunkka if he is silenced.
  • Global Silence goes through BKB, allowing him to silence Kunkka if he has the BKB on.
  • Spell sequence can be messed by Last Word, allowing you or your allies to escape the combo.
  • High physical damage output if played as a core, taking away Kunkka’s int.
