New year, new loadouts!

Season Two is here which means new weapons and updated loadouts! With new features ranging from Nebula V Ammo to Redeploy Ballons, updating your guns is key to surviving the changes you’ll come across in Caldera.

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of your loadouts, it’s best to review any perks, lethals, and tacticals that could use a change from last season. For instance, JGOD suggests E.O.D. for the 1st perk slot because of the heavy use of incendiary rounds in Season One.  Pick the next perk with something that suits your playstyle: aggressive (Overkill) vs. passive (Ghost). The last slot should be Amped–for fast weapon swap if you’re running an LMG or sniper. Lethal is up to player preference, but heartbeat sensor or stim is still the top tactical choice.

15. Grau 5.56

Paired with the next gun on the list, the Grau will be your trusty sidekick in Warzone. It’s always smart to run Overkill with an SMG primary loadout and MW’s Grau still finds its use even in Season Two. Its high accuracy makes it a dependable choice to swap for the long shots just out of reach of your SMG.

14. META Type 100

Type 100 starts at 1:03

This is a new experimental SMG build that offers a ridiculous fire rate. Like other Meta SMGs, the Type 100 shreds at close range because of its fast TTK. Similar to the Season One VG PPSh, you can run the Type 100 as a quick Hipfire build.

13. Meta Diamatti

Diamatti starts at 3:26

Aside from still being a powerful sidearm, the Diamatti makes a case for being your pistol in Rebirth. The fast fire rate makes it feel like a loadout weapon and it’ll better defend you while your grabbing floor loot over the RATT or M1911. People even prefer the new Machine Pistol, but that doesn’t offer the same range, let alone, recoil control as the Diamatti.

12. STG44 F. Loaded

STG starts at 2:48

The STG is one of the popular Vanguard AR picks in Warzone at the moment. Deadly at medium range, this rifle is a great alternative to the BAR or Automaton. Leveling it up takes no time, considering it’s a common floor loot weapon. It has great control, but I’d run it in an Overkill loadout throwing on a mobile secondary weapon such as the MP40 featured later.

11. FINN LMG

Finn starts at 4:14

Most competitive loadouts are either VG SMGs or Sniper Support builds. Rocking an MW LMG is huge! For players who don’t enjoy using the Meta Bren, the Finn has your back. It boasts the 2nd fastest TTK among ARs/LMGs. If you’ve unlocked this gun in the past, but are focused on using Vanguard weapons, the Finn will make you reconsider. IceManIsaac labels it a must-try for solos or duos!

10. LR Automaton F. Loaded

Automaton starts at 7:21

This automatic rifle manages to slip right into the top ten. It offers a quick fire rate against the other VG ARs and the huge 75 Rnd Drm mag will help you get more Team Wipes if you’re going into anything above Solos. A lot of players favor the 3-6x scope which makes this fit into the LR class of VG rifles, but I’d recommend an equally fast SMG secondary to help you in CQC combat.

9. CW XM4

XM4 starts at 8:46

If you find yourself wanting an AR to support your Meta SMG build, there’s nothing wrong with the XM4. The Cold War XM4’s shots always seem to find their mark with its low recoil attachments. Slapping on the right scope can make up for your hipfire SMG primary. Controlled shots, a predictable fire pattern, and a high mag size can also improve your chances of making it to the final circle in solos/duos.

8. PPSH-41

PPSH starts at 12:23

The classic Russian SMG holds its own and continues to remain at the top of JGOD’s TTK chart. It's a strong and extremely fast Meta gun at the moment, but be warned–it’s a hipfire build. Ignore the Scope featured, it's merely there because it increases in-game accuracy. This loadout destroys at close range and its large drum mag makes it an easy room cleaner.

7. Owen Gun

Owen Gun starts at 9:09

Now, a lot of people have a problem with the Owen Gun’s big mag blocking their FOV. This build’s variable scope trick fixes that issue when you switch to the slate option. Your aim gets bumped up and voila, your FOV is over the top of the clunky mag. The Owen Gun’s range and versatility are what makes this SMG beat out the Welgun from making the list.

6. Meta Bren

The Bren is still a top Meta weapon in Warzone, despite a Season Two nerf. Much like the Owen gun’s FOV issue, don’t let the tall mag shy you away. The SVT variable scope helps you regain your vision and keeps you lethal in long-range combat. Keeping a run n’ gun SMG build as your secondary using Overkill will also help you stay more mobile.

5.  LR Cooper Carbine

Cooper starts at 4:15

This Cooper is a Sniper Support build and features virtually no changes save from its Season One entry. It barely has any recoil which makes it a reliable choice for a VG AR during heavy sustained fire. With its large 60 Round Mag size, you can increase your K/D by getting more kills before you need to reload. For Veteran Warzone players, this is a throwback to your M13 no recoil setups.

4. KG M40

KG M40 starts at 0:02

One of the new weapons had to make a top-five appearance, right? Since it’s new, there are many different builds you can create, but JGOD’s video shows why the KG M40 should be in one of your Range loadouts. Overall, the M40 is fun and easy to use no matter what mags you slap on it, but it doesn’t crack into Meta territory when compared to the other ARs out there. Since it’s a range AR, I’d recommend pairing it with something like the Owen Gun build featured earlier.

3. MW MP5-10mm

MW MP5 starts at 3:16

Making a comeback, this Modern Warfare MP5 needs to be a staple in your SMG loadout. It remains one of the fastest SMGs in the game despite it being an MW weapon. The high-damage 10mm mag is what’s going to give you the advantage over your enemies. But IceManIsaac recommends using it in Solos or Duos because of its smaller 30-Rnd mag size.

2. MW Kar98k

MW Kar98k starts at 5:02

The Modern Warfare Kar98k continues to be the tried and true sniper of choice. If you’re running a Sniper Support class, like many of the previous builds, this should be your pick. It’s the fastest ADS sniper–356 ms–out there. Even though the Sniper Scope is 4x and the Variable Zoom goes up to 6.2x, I’ve dropped players from 397 meters in Warzone. Like any other gun, it requires skill and handling, but it remains extremely lethal in the right hands. 

MW Kar98k:

• Optic: Sniper Scope or Variable Zoom Scope

1. META MP40

MP40 starts at 6:31

Arguably one of the best SMGs in Warzone, the MP40 secures the top spot! It has your back in those mid-range gunfights where the Welgun and other SMGs don’t seem to. This Meta build caters to Sniper Support making it a deadly duo if paired with the Kar98k loadout above. Nothing comes close to another accurate and mobile SMG while also remaining so lethal.
