The Phoenix is a large flaming bird found only on the Scorched Earth map on special events. It can fly so fast that it can pass any obstacles in its way and it doesn’t even require a saddle to be ridden. This magnificent creature is one of the best in all aspects, from hunting to gathering and battling. 

What makes Phoenix Great for Obsidian: 

• Best gain per action while harvesting the resource 
• It can access even the highest or most difficult areas 
• The claw attack is designed for harvesting metal & ores. The peak attack may also be used 

Phoenix details:

• It’s a living campfire/forge, so it’s the superior way to harvest raw prime meat as you can cook it to avoid spoiling 
• It’s a Silica Pearl Farm. Occasionally, this rare creature can even excrete Black Pearls
• The creature possesses a fire rocketing attack that’s almost impossible to retaliate or anticipate
• It’s not breedable, but it’s tameable and rideable. No saddle is needed. It’s only found on the Scorched Earth map during a Heat Wave weather event.

It can not be tamed, and it breeds on a lava puddle in the Volcanic Biome. Moreover, it can truly spit metal ingots covered in lava. When it comes to gathering, its mobility and weight capacity place it on the top of the list. In some cases, like metal gathering, it can even exceed the Ankylosaurus. 

What makes Magmasaur Great for Obsidian: 

• Second best obsidian efficiency from the game 
• Its natural habitat is the volcano, one of the few obsidian locations in the game
• Impressive heat resistance 
• Can be equipped with the mining drill while in the cockpit

• Immune to all fire-based attacks, perfect against the Dragon Boss
