All Eyes of Kosmos Members And Their Locations [Guide]

Cult of Kosmos lurking in the shadows

Welcome misthios. Let’s dive into one of the most important things in the world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey - the Cult of Kosmos, the main villains of the game. In this guide, we will cover one specific branch of the cultists, the Eyes of Kosmos.

The Eyes of Kosmos is a branch of the Cult of Kosmos. They are the members of the Cult that can be defeated quite early on in the game. As a reward for defeating each member, you will be rewarded with a piece of armor from the Snake Armor Set.

The purpose of this guide is to help you navigate through the Eyes of Kosmos. With this guide, you will be able to find the members of the cult and you will be able to easily defeat them whenever you feel you are ready to face them.

Here’s the whole guide along with the names of the members, locations, specifics on how to kill them, and advice. Spoilers ahead!

1. Elpenor

The location of Elpenor on the map

Elpenor is the first member of the Cult of Kosmos that you will meet. You cannot miss him, since you will meet him via mainline quest. Elpenor will be the one who gets you to go on your Odyssey and leave Kephallonia.

You will be able to kill Elpenor in the “Snake in the Grass” quest. To kill him you will have to follow the quest and you will arrive at Snake Temple in the end. From here you will fight him, be sure to use activities and dodge since he has quite a lot of health and is durable.

My advice is to kill Elpenor when you are equipped with at least an Epic weapon. You will not have a lot of good gear at this point of the game, but make sure to invest in your abilities. Purchase some more offensive abilities and try defeating Elpenor using them.

Steps to Assassinate Elpenor:

  • get to Phokis
  • talk to Elpenor
  • start the “Snake in the Grass” quest
  • find Elpenor
  • assassinate Elpenor

2. Sotera

Sotera's location in the Valley of King Lelex

Finding Sotera is quite an easy task to complete. After completing the main quest “The Serpent’s Lair” the clues you gathered will show you the location of Sotera. Check her level and if you match Sotera’s level, you can go ahead and take her down.

The main thing to kill Sotera is just to finish “The Serpent’s Lair” quest. Once this quest is completed, you will have gathered all the clues to find and assassinate her. You will probably be able to face her around the 15th level.

Killing Cult members is not as difficult as it seems. Once you reach the level of your enemy, you can certainly try your chance to assassinate the cultist. No difference in the case of Sortera. Even if your level is slightly below, you can still try killing Sotera and see how it goes.

Steps to Assassinate Sotera

  • finish “The Serpent’s Lair” quest
  • go to Megaris
  • find Sotera in the Port of Nisaia
  • assassinate Sotera

3. Hermippos

The location of Hermippos in Athens

This member of the Cult was a comic playwright who used theater to undermine the position of democracy and Perikles in Athens. Secretly, the member of Eyes of Kosmos, he used Kleon’s support to weaken the position of Perikles.

Hermippos is fairly easy to find. After progressing through the main storyline you will see different side quests in Attika. Once you see a side quest titled “Citizenship Test” complete it, then finish “Witness Him” and you will be able to do the side quest “Free Speech”.

After the completion of “Free Speech,” you will have gathered all the clues and you will have discovered the location of Hermippos. You can go seek him out and deal the killing blow once your level matches him.

Steps to Assassinate Hermippos:

  • continue the main storyline in Attika
  • complete “Citizenship Test”
  • complete “Witness Him”
  • complete “Free Speech”

You can see this guide which shows you the completion of the side quests and location of Hermippos:

4. The Master

Location of The Master in Attika

A brutal and heartless member of the Eyes of Kosmos. The Master was a slaver who denied others their freedom to feel more powerful and important. We meet him in the game after learning that he denied his slave freedom, even after the slave paid him.

Finding The Master is quite a long process and can take you some time. You will have to complete some main quests and side quests before you can face him. The Cultist is at around the 20th level, which is why it takes time to find and kill him.

To kill The Master you will have to complete a side quest in Attika called “A Life’s Worth”. Before the quest appears on your map you will have to complete some side quests in Attika like Sokrates’s side missions etc. Travel around Attika and complete the quests until “A Life’s Worth” is unlocked.

The simplest way in my opinion to kill The Master is simply to talk to him and after the conversation attack him. You will be able to attack him with a strong offense and deal a lot of damage right off the start. Then, it is just a matter of finishing him off.

Steps to Assassinate:

  • complete the side quests around Attika
  • be sure to complete Sokrates’s side quests
  • complete “A Life’s Worth” side quest

5. Midas

The location of Midas in Argolis

Midas’s game biography states that “everything he touched turned fire” in opposition to the mythological Midas who turned everything into gold. Apart from this, Midas was a cruel banker based in Argos in Argolis.

To kill Midas you will have to be patient. You will gather a clue to his location already in the quest “Serpent’s Lair”. However, try to reach his level before battling him as there are many guards around him.

What I would suggest is you definitely don’t want to attack Midas out in the open. Midas walks around Argolis, surrounded by a few guards, and killing him begins a slaughter where you will be forced to fight a lot of enemies, including Mercenaries. Be sure you are ready for that, or invest in Assassin Abilities and try killing him stealthily.

Steps to Assassinate Midas:

  • complete “Serpent’s Lair”
  • go to Argolis
  • match Midas’s level

6. Nyx the Shadow

Location of Nyx the Shadow in Athens

The top member of the Eyes of Kosmos. Nyx the Shadow was the Sage of this branch of the Cult of Kosmos and its most powerful member. She was certainly the most dangerous and the most formidable enemy from the Eyes of Kosmos.

To kill Nyx the Shadow you will have to previously kill all the other members of the branch. Once all members of the Eyes of Kosmos are assassinated, you will have gathered all the clues, and the location of Nyx the Shadow in Athens will be revealed.

Since you will have to kill all the Eyes of Kosmos to unlock the location of Nyx the Shadow, I would advise you to wear the whole Snake Armor Set to fight her. The armor is obtained by killing all the members of the branch. Make sure you also match her level before facing Nyx the Shadow in the battle.

Steps to Assassinate Nyx the Shadow:

  • assassinate all Eyes of Kosmos members
  • match her level

I really hope that this article will prove very useful to you and you will easily find all the members of the Eyes of Kosmos. Let me know if you did, meanwhile, I wish you luck and hope you enjoy your Odyssey!
