Are you looking for a powerful or interesting weapon to help in your adventure? In my adventures in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s England and Norway, I have found some noteworthy weapons. Some of these weapons are downright destructive. Other weapons I chose because of how fun they are in combat.

15. Varin’s Axe (Early Game)

While you might cringe thinking of wearing your brother or sister’s hand-me-downs, Eivor’s inheritance is nothing to scoff at. Varin’s Axe is a speedy, lightweight single-handed weapon that is optimal for the stealthy player. Aggressive players will find the speed buff helpful too. After unlocking the skill that lets you dual wield heavy weapons, you can use the axe’s buff to be a nimble heavy weapon specialist. Who said you can’t be big and fast?! This is one of the easiest weapons to obtain because it is earned through a story mode quest. Varin’s Axe will carry you through mid-game if you upgrade it frequently. 

 

What Makes Varin’s Axe Great

• After each hit, your speed is increased (up to 10 times). You can stack this to easily pass through enemies, especially in large crowds.
• This weapon is easy to find, with strong stats for light and agile play styles. The speed increase buff plays well to agility and the attack score is great.
• The single-handed axe combat animations look the best and the most diverse. Out of all the weapons, the single-handed ax has the most diverse array of animations.

14. Yngling Seax Dagger (Early Game)

This Weapon can be found in Norway in the beginning of the story. Start at 0:49.

Do you love dodging more than blocking? Want to be fast and swift like a panther? The Yngling Sax is the dagger for you! The stats and buffs make this the best dagger in the game. I recommend pairing this with Varin’s Axe for maximal speed and attack. It is easy to obtain because it’s in the first map, in Norway. All you have to do is raid an enemy location that’s power level 1. 

What Makes The Yngling Seax Dagger Great

• The high speed and Critical Chance stats with reasonable attack make it a dangerously fast weapon. It is good for dodging powerful enemy attacks and getting around defenses.
• This dagger is easy to acquire in the early game without much time commitment. Youhave to explore an island next to the first few high points. It’s only power level 1.
• This weapon’s buff is powerful, giving you increased melee damage after a dodge. You will dodge a lot with daggers, so this buff will be active a lot. The increased melee damage comes in handy with this speedy build.

13. Skadi’s Wrath (Early Game)

This weapon is easily obtained by a chest in a church. Start at 1:05.

Skadi’s Wrath is a light bow that is powerful in the hands of a precise shooter. This bow is easily found in the beginning of the game and comes in handy for medium to close range encounters. It has good stun, attack, and critical stats that will take you through the end-game if you upgrade it thoroughly. Go get it sharpshooter.

What Makes Skadi’s Wrath Great

• Excellent scalable stats for a light bow. This is great to keep the weapon effective throughout your story. You won’t have to explore every nook and cranny to find an effective light bow.
• The weapon’s perk is powerful. It increases Critical Chance by +15 for 10 seconds when striking the weak point of an enemy. Light bows are fast and usually used in the midst of combat. You will find it is easier to hit weak spots with light bows. Combined with its type and its weapon perk, you are a deadly opponent.
• This is an easy, light bow to get without spending extra time exploring. Sometimes you don’t want to invest extra hours into a game, especially a massive one. By sticking with Skadi’s Wrath, you’ll be set up for a light bow for the whole game.
• If you like the game’s viking theme then you’ll love this weapon’s design. More than any other bow, it looks like something a viking would use, with its primal accents.

12. Sepulcher Axe (Early Game)

Here’s an awesome weapon in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that you don’t want to miss near the beginning of the game! Start at 1:16. 

The large and powerful 2-handed Sepulcher Axe will light your heart and your opponent's on fire. Fire is beautiful in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla because you’ll often be encircled by enemies. What better way to disperse a crowd than with fire? This one is easy to obtain because you get access to the chest while finishing a story-line quest, “Tilting The Balance.”

What Makes Sepulcher Axe Great

• This huge axe has a brilliant gold color that’s eye-catching. With the beautiful graphics and combat finishers, it is worthwhile to have a beautiful weapon to look at.
• The axe ignites after critical hits. Fire will deal sustained damage over time. You can hurt multiple opponents at once without having to fight them individually. You can quickly tear through the mobs.
• The high attack stat with moderate melee distance makes taking on groups a breeze. You can do sweeping heavy attacks, which is a medium distance attack that can hurt multiple opponents with one swing.

11. Fafnir’s Fang (Early Game)

To get Fafnir’s Fang, you will have to kill Erik Loyalskill that can be found in the “Rygjafylke” region. Start at 0:08.

For the viking who loves to jump into the heart of battle, Fafnir’s Fang has been waiting for you. This two-handed spear will sweep your opponents off of their feet and impale them with precision. With an increase in Critical Chance when surrounded by 3 or more enemies, you will quickly defeat the many large groups of enemies you’ll encounter. This weapon plays well for the aggressive player. You can find this weapon easily in the beginning map of Norway, but it will take commitment to defeat the first Lost Drengr because his power level is high.

What Makes Fafnir’s Fang Great

• This is the easiest long range melee weapon to get in the early-game. Spears are excellent for attacking your opponents outside of their melee range. This is one of the first spears you encounter in the game.
• High Critical Chance and speed stats. The speed is great for a heavy weapon. With heavy weapons, you often sacrifice speed. Some heavy weapons are quicker than others. This spear is one of them.
• You receive an increased Critical Chance when surrounded by 3 or more enemies. This is exceptional because spears can inflict damage on multiple enemies at once. Combined with this weapon’s perk, you can control a crowd effectively.

10. Sarcophagus Shield (Early Game)

Parry your opponent's attack and the Sarcophagus Shield will call upon a fire from hell. Listen to your enemy's wail as their fire warms your heart. This heavy shield is found while looting chests during a story mission in Sciropescire. With little deviation from your main mission’s path, this is an easy weapon to acquire. This is my favorite shield in the game because it has potent visuals with its ring of fire ability, the design is beautiful, and it has quality stats for a heavy shield.

What Makes the Sarcophagus Shield Great

• This shield has a powerful ability. Parrying has a small chance to create a fire around you. This is great because it damages multiple opponents at once, disrupting their defenses. 
• The shield’s stats are high in block and stun, balanced against a moderate attack. This makes a perfect defensive shield combined with its potent offensive perk.
• Brutally primal weapon design makes Eivor look terrifying. The skulls and chain hanging on this shield has a high level of detail. The artwork stands out compared to other shields.

9. Bullseye Bow (Early Game)

The location of the Bullseye Predator Bow Weapon in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.  The weapon is dropped by Avgos Spearhand when you assassinate him during the quest, “Firing The Arrow.” Start at 0:00

Be the master of surprise with the Bullseye Predator Bow. Land a headshot on an opponent, and you will automatically set a trap. Watch the trap explode on pesky lookie-loos. This bow is good for picking apart large outposts without being detected by enemies. The high damage from predator bows ensures you get a 1 hit kill on most enemies, which keeps the rest of your foes unaware. This bow is great for stealthy play styles. The bullseye bow is easily gotten while playing the main storyline. It’s a great bow, and you don’t have to invest extra time exploring.

What Makes the Bullseye Predator Bow Great

• Stealth headshot kills automatically spawn a trap that deals explosive damage to investigating enemies. Some enemies you can’t kill with a single headshot. The traps will inflict damage on nearby enemies, and you won’t be detected. With the trap you can usually kill all enemies with a single headshot while remaining undetected.
• The bow is a great long distance weapon with a higher speed than other predator bows. This is the fastest of the predator bows available in the early game.
• If you don’t want to explore every nook and cranny in the game, then this is a good weapon for you. You want a capable predator bow to make large outposts manageable. To avoid drawn-out battles and efficiently kill your opponents in stealth, you will want to kill them with a single strike. With either a hidden blade, hunter, or predator bow, you can kill an enemy undetected. The stronger the bow, the fewer enemies you have to fight at once.  The benefit with this bow is that you can get it in the story mode, and it’s quite powerful as a predator bow.

8. Needler Bow (Early Game)

Don’t want to pay the iron price for a predator bow? Then spend 380 of your silver for this fine bow that will take you through the end-game. If you love playing stealthily, then this ties with the Bullseye bow for its effectiveness. The Bullseye bow’s ability is more useful, but the Needler bow has a higher attack stat leading to more one hit kills for maximal stealth.

What Makes the Needler Bow Great

• This is the easiest predator bow to get immediately because you can buy it at the merchant for a measly 380 silver. 
• Of all the predator bows, this one has one of the highest attack stats. You can upgrade it all the way to end-game with confidence in its deadliness. This is a great bow for early-game to end-game. The high attack stats are great for defeating enemy encampments without initiating all-out battles.
• This is the best bow for stealth players. When you get a stealth headshot it will create a sleep cloud around the body. This is perfect to slowly knock your opponents out one at a time without alerting them.

7. Arc Of Élan Bow (Late Game)

The Arc Of Élan is a formidable hunter bow with its high damage and beautiful artwork. Compared to other hunter bows, this one has high damage and stun stats. This is a great bow for medium range play styles; for people who move in between stealth and open combat. You need not wander from the main story, as this bow is easily earned through completing the Essexe quest line. 

What Makes the Arc Of Élan Bow Great

• The weapon perk is perfect for people who move between stealth and open combat. With each successive hit, you get a temporary increase to ability damage.
• The bow is beautiful and distinct in its art. It has a shining gold appearance with exaggerated accents along the limbs.
• For people who don’t want to explore the world, this bow is perfect. You get the bow from completing story missions.

6. Spinning Death Flail (Late Game)

• The weapon provides a new visual experience because it is unlike all of the other weapons. I mean, it’s a spiked ball chained to a handle, brutal! The weapon ability is more than a statistic. You get to drop fire on your foes!
• This flail has one of the best stats for fighting legendary animals because it has a really high amount of stun.
• The weapon ability releases a firebomb that is great for dealing with large crowds. The firebomb deals damage across a large area.

5. Petra’s Arc Bow (Late Game)

If you’re interested in sticking to the main story, then the lower ranked predator bows will carry you through the end-game with confidence.

• You get a 15 point bonus to critical damage when your health is above 90%. This makes it great for a stealthy play style. With the stealthy play style you will likely have full health while single-handedly destroying a small army.
• If you enjoy going on adventures, then Petra’s Arc is a worthwhile pursuit. Searching and defeating the legendary animals is a fun yet challenging side quest.
• Petra’s Arc has a higher attack stat than the other predator bows on this list, making it more effective at executing one hit kills.

4. Hemming’s Axe (Late Game)

The brawler at heart yearns for Hemming’s Axe. Hemming’s Axe is a 2 handed heavy axe with an insanely high attack stat and a strong speed boost, which is rare for a 2 handed heavy weapon. The axe is easy to get as it is a reward for completing the quest, “A Tale Of Two Jarls.”

What Makes Hemming’s Axe Great

• The axe has the highest attack and gives a modest speed boost.
• You don’t have to stray from the storyline to get this axe because it's a reward from a quest. It can’t get any easier than that.
• The weapon's ability is great for battling at the edge of your power level. When your health is less than 50% then the perk activates, giving you more heavy damage. More power!

3. Excalibur (Late Game)

Wield the power of Excalibur, embody King Arthur by going on an adventure to collect 11 tablets. This weapon has a unique ability to blind all enemies around after a heavy finisher or critical hit. The Excalibur is amazing for large crowds because you can disrupt them to get past their defenses. This is a difficult weapon to get because you have to go on a slew of side quests and exploration to acquire the 11 tablets. For the adventurous, it is right up your alley.

What Makes Excalibur Great

• The weapon ability is great for crowd control because it blinds enemies around you after a heavy finisher or critical hit. 
• Being a mid-game weapon, it is devastating. While it’s likely you would pursue this weapon in the end-game, it is better mid-game around power level 200, so the weapon ability is still relevant. You can get this weapon in the mid-game, as detailed in the YouTube guide above.
• The sword doesn’t look true to what King Arthur would use, but it is very distinct and futuristic looking.

2. Gungnir - Odin’s Spear (Late Game)

You have to complete the final main quest, “A Brother’s Keeper.” It’s worth the wait for the weapon’s ability to extend the spear’s reach with a force field. The visuals on this spear are stunning in combat and while holstered on Eivor’s back.

• The spear has a striking visual during combat and while holstered. For weapons in the base Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, this is unique. If you like flashy designs, this is a great weapon.
• The weapon’s ability is not only stunning, but effective. The spear’s reach is extended by a force field for light and heavy attacks. Your enemies will struggle to land a strike.
• The spear is great for attacking enemies from a distance while still keeping it melee because of its long reach and weapon ability.

You will love the lightning visuals in combat and feel powerful watching the stats overcome enemies.

What Makes Mjölnir Great

• You create lightning blasts when hitting enemies. This looks really cool when in combat. The visuals don't take away from the viking theme or the combat mechanics.
• The weapons ability is powerful for stunning enemies. Every hit has a chance to do stun damage to all enemies around you.
• The stun damage is the highest of all the single-handed hammers in the game. This makes it great for a tank-build that loves knocking enemies to the ground.
