Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a game where you can play it the way you prefer. Whether it’s running into an army with nothing but your trusty axe, sneaking into a camp to slit throats, or sniping enemies from away, you can play your way. This guide is my top 5 best bows, meant for the hunters of Valhalla. 

This guide will not include Noden’s Arc. After all, it would be guaranteed the number one spot because it is one of the four Isu weapons in the game.

5. Death-Speaker 

Legend states that when you hear this bow's whisper you'll find its arrow sullied with your blood

The Death-Speaker is a great hunter bow that you can buy pretty early in the game. It’s a great tool when you run out of rations in the middle of combat because it heals you by 25% of your health when you hit a weak point. Making this bow a great early game weapon to complement any battle style. An ability I always used against bosses, while I’m in low health, is Focus of the Nornir to guarantee my shots.

4. Arc of Elan

A bow fit for one who hunts for a lover

The Arc of Elan has the best stats for all hunter bows dishing out incredible amounts of damage. It has a great perk that allows each consecutive shot to boost ability damage. Combined with the ability Focus of the Nornir, Arc of Elan drops an army for as long as your stamina bar lasts. I believe it’s best used like any other bow, for headshots.

3. Death-Skald

This bow writes poems with its bloodied arrows

The Death-Skald is a powerful light bow that shreds through targets like bullets through paper. It has a unique perk that allows it to have a higher critical chance the lighter you are. For an interesting challenge you can do a “nudist” run, where you don’t wear armor making this bow the best weapon for that challenge.

2. Bullseye

A scarecrow's weapon of choice

The Bullseye is a great predator bow for the stealthy sniper. With a stealth headshot kill, the bow automatically spawns a trap. Any other curious guard in the area, who happens to spy the corpse, receives a minor explosion that kills their stamina bar leaving them open for a quick stun attack. I use this bow to pick off enemies surrounding an objective or to strategically place traps around the field.

• Makes sniping easy with its perk
• Spawns a trap instantaneously

1) Petra’s Arc

Made from someone who cares deeply for the hunting great beasts

Petra’s Arc is a supremely powerful predator bow. That is given to you after you hunt 4 legendary animals. All headshots are critical hits in AC Valhalla, and this bow’s perk increases crit damage when you are close to full health. This bow is well suited for any playstyle, but especially for the stealthier build, when your health is at max. I used the Bullseye, placing traps where I wanted, and Petra’s Arc to strike down elites.

What makes Petra’s Arc the best?

• Incredibly high crit damage
• Useful for all situations, including combat

• Pairs well crit damage runes

Ultimately, the best archers are the ones that use the equiptment they are most comfortable with and the playstyle you prefer. What is your choice of bow? I prefer hunter bows.
