[Top 10] Raft Best Food (And How To Get Them)

Raft Best Food and How To Get Them
Raft Best Food and How To Get Them

Maybe all you eat in the beginning is cooked beets and potatoes. Cooking takes a lot of resources, and sometimes it just doesn’t seem worth the time and effort. But if you want to get your inner chef on and cook meals with high saturation that will benefit you in the long run, here are the top 10 best foods in Raft and how to get them!

First Off…

Cooking pot with ingredients for vegetable soup.

To cook recipes, you’ll need to craft a cooking pot! It can make all of the Raft recipes, so it’s definitely a good investment as soon as you unlock the recipe.

10. Mushroom Omelette

Player holding a plate of mushroom omelette.

The cooking pot recipes add bonus hunger to the initial hunger bar when eaten. Bonus-hunger extends past the initial hunger bar and depletes more slowly. I personally don’t like making the mushroom omelette because eggs are quite hard to obtain early on. But it adds "bonus hunger," which makes it way better than simply eating grilled fish.

Recipe:

  • 1x Raw Potato
  • 2x Egg
  • 1x Cave Mushroom

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 35
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 35

9. Cooked Salmon or Catfish

Catfish cooking on the grill.

I know, I know, this isn’t a Cooking Pot recipe! But hear me out... These large fish give you +20 hunger times three! So one fish equals +60 hunger AND it's very easy to obtain. That’s why I decided to add it to the list. Even though there is no bonus, it provides more hunger than most Raft Cooking Pot dishes, so I believe it deserves to be on the list!

Recipe:

  • To make it, place raw salmon or catfish on an advanced grill.

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 20
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 0

8. Steak With Jam

Player holding a plate of steak with jam.

As long as you have the meat, making steak with jam is a fairly simple recipe. I’d recommend sailing around the tropical islands to collect boar meat. The boars can only move in straight lines when they charge, so they are easier to kill than bears. You can also collect red berries on the tropical islands while you grind for meat.

Recipe:

  • 1x Raw Beet or Potato
  • 1x Raw Meat
  • 2x Red Berries

Benefits:

  • Hunger 40
  • Thirst: 5
  • Bonus: 40

7. Vegetable Soup

Player holding a bowl of vegetable soup.

Vegetable soup is one of the simplest cooking pot recipes to prepare. All you need is to start collecting beets or potatoes (or both!) and it doesn’t take many resources to do so. You don’t have to kill any animals or stop at any islands for this recipe! And that sweet, sweet bonus will curb your hunger for a little while before you have to eat again.

Recipe:

  • 4x Raw Beet or Potato

Benefits

  • Hunger: 40
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 45

6. Simple Fish Stew

Player holding a bowl of simple fish stew.

Simple fish stew is also one of the simplest recipes to prepare and provides the same benefits as vegetable soup. I'd start saving my pomfret and herring for this dish when fishing early in the game! It’ll be worth it in the long run.

Recipe:

  • 2x Raw Beet or Potato
  • 2x Raw Herring or Raw Pomfret

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 40
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 45

5. Head Broth

Player holding a bowl of head broth.

I absolutely hate this horrifying fish; if it weren’t for the necessary resources it gives, I would just turn around and swim away! The puffer fish is so ugly and creepy in this game, I can’t even function when looking at it. However, as a dish, it provides an incredible bonus in addition to some hunger and thirst points.

Recipe:

  • 1x Raw Beet or Potato
  • 2x Poison-Puffer Head
  • 1x Bucket of Milk

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 20
  • Thirst: 30
  • Bonus: 100

4. Sushi

Player holding a plate of sushi.

Sushi provides a lot of hunger and bonus points. It also gives mackerel and tilapia a use other than simply grilling them. This recipe is easy to make once you’ve established a chicken farm for the eggs, so I’d start making it midway through the game. And when you do, it’s totally worth it!

Recipe:

  • 2x Raw Mackerel or Tilapia
  • 1x Egg
  • 1x Silver Algae

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 50
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 65

3. Shark Dinner

Player holding a plate of shark dinner.

Shark dinner gets a high position on this list as it’s easy to obtain early on and has an amazing bonus! Once you start killing the shark, it gets easier over time. And since the shark is constantly spawning around you, it’s a good source of food! Cave mushrooms can be picked in caves, there are always at least a couple of them per land cave. The silver algae grow in the coral reefs and are obtainable by hook.

Recipe:

  • 2x Raw Shark Meat
  • 1x Cave Mushroom
  • 1x Silver Algae

Benefits:

  • Hunger 40
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 70

2. Coconut Chicken

Player holding a bowl of coconut chicken.

Coconut chicken is not only simple to obtain early on in the game, but it also provides thirst, high hunger, and a bonus. You can get drumsticks easily from the seagulls that visit your raft, and coconuts are obtained anytime you cut down palm trees.

Recipe:

  • 2x Raw Drumstick
  • 1x Coconut
  • 1x Cave Mushroom

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 55
  • Thirst: 10
  • Hunger 55

1. BBQ

Player holding a plate of BBQ.

Even though it's a little expensive, BBQ takes the top spot on this list due to its high hunger and bonus. It's a great dish to make in the middle to late game, and by that point, you should have plenty of those resources. A few plates of BBQ and a few cups of juice will set you up for an entire story-island.

Recipe:

  • 1x Raw Meat
  • 1x Raw Mackerel
  • 1x Raw Drumstick
  • 1x Cave Mushroom

Benefits:

  • Hunger: 65
  • Thirst: 0
  • Bonus: 75
