[Top 15] Strongest Pokemon Scarlet Pokemon

Some Pokemon are stronger than others. And some Pokemon are stronger than those stronger ones.

With so many different Pokemon you can find in Paldea, it can be tough to choose which Pokemon to bring along your journey. Maybe you don’t know what Pokemon are good for tanking hits for having type coverage. Which is why, down below, is a list of the 15 strongest Pokemon in the game!

1. Baxcalibur

This dragon Pokemon will leave its opponents frozen in fear!

Baxcalibur Stats

  • HP: 115
  • Attack: 145
  • Defense: 92
  • Special Attack: 75
  • Special Defense: 86
  • Speed: 87
  • Overall Stats: 600

Baxcalibur is Paldea’s pseudo-legendary. This Dragon/Ice type Pokemon has an incredible Attack stat, strong HP, and high Defense, making it a good choice for a tanky physical attacker. Baxcalibur’s regular and hidden ability even pair well with its stats.

Bacalibur’s regular ability, Thermal Exchange, raises its attack power every time it's hit by a Fire type move, which will only deal neutral damage thanks to its typing.

Its hidden ability Ice Body heals Baxcalibur in hail weather after every turn. Combine this with Leftovers and Baxcalibur’s  defenses and you’ve got an ice-cold glacier that isn’t getting melted any time soon.

Baxcalibur Pros

  • Powerful protector with its high HP and Defense
  • High Attack to complement its strong moves
  • Thermal Exchange raises its Attack even more
  • Ice Body can heal Baxcalibyr’s high HP in Hail

2. Palafin

Don't be fooled. This dolphin may look cute, but it's got some serious hidden power.

Palafin Stats (Zero Form)

  • HP: 100
  • Attack: 70
  • Defense: 72
  • Special Attack: 53
  • Special Defense: 62
  • Speed: 100

  • Attack: 160
  • Defense: 92
  • Special Attack: 106
  • Special Defense: 87
  • Speed: 100
  • Overall Stats: 670

Palafin can take a bit of work to get. You have to evolve Finizen to level 38, but only while you’re using the Union Circle. If you’re willing to jump through that hurdle though, you’ll be rewarded with a Pokemon that’ll sweep its opponent like a tidal wave..

As a Water type, Palafin is only weak to Grass and Electric type moves. Palafin’s got an amazing Speed stat on par with Meowscarada, but its other stats aren’t as good. Or at least not until you activate its unique ability Zero to Hero'.

Once this ability activates, even Arceus itself should be afraid. Palafin get a massive boost in its Attack and keeps its high Speed, making it aquatic hero a lightning bruiser! And this ability only activates by switching Palafin out and sending it back into battle, so go all out!

Palafin Pros

  • Great Attack and Speed in its Hero Form
  • Easy to activate Hero Form
  • Only weak to Grass and Electric moves

Much like its typing, Flutter Mane wields some fantastical power!

  • Attack: 55
  • Defense: 55
  • Special Attack: 135
  • Special Defense: 135
  • Speed: 135
  • Overall Stats: 570

Flutter Mane is a Ghost/Fairy type Paradox Pokemon, which is perfect for its magical Special Attack and Speed stat. Along with some hard-hitting Ghost and Fairy type moves like Shadow Ball and Moonblast, Flutter Mane can learn lots of other good special moves like Power Gem, Psyshock, Dark Pulse,  Hyper Voice, Energy Ball, and Thunderbolt! With its ability Protosynthesis, Flutter Mane’s already frighteningSpecial Attack will be  more powerful, raising the damage of its moves!

Flutter Mane’s typing also makes it immune to Normal, Fighting, and Dragon type moves. If you’re looking for a strong teammate, Flutter Mane has lots to offer with its immunity to three types, incredible speed and many options for strong special attacking moves.

Flutter Mane Pros

  • Impressive Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed
  • Immune to Normal, Fighting, and Fairy type moves

  • Attack: 60
  • Defense: 100
  • Special Attack: 125
  • Special Defense: 80
  • Speed: 75

Armarouge isn’t called “The Fire Warrior Pokemon” for nothing. What Armarouge lacks in Attack and Speed, it makes up for it with its impressive defensive stats and its powerful Special Attack stat.

Armarouge’s typing gives it several resistances that works well with its high defensive stats. Plus, Armarouge can learn Iron Defense and Calm Mind to boost its defenses even more!

Armarouge can learn lots of Special Attacking tm moves like Dragon Pulse, Energy Ball, Aura Sphere, and its signature move Armor Cannon. Armor Cannon lowers Armarouge’s Defense and Special Defense, but deals 120 damage to opponents! Paired with Calm Mind, Armarougecan blast through lots of its opponents.

This Dragon/Dark type Pokemon  has low Defense, but makes up for it with its high stats in Attack and Speed while boasting pretty good HP and Special Defense. This ancient dragon can learn some pretty strong physical moves like Dragon Claw, Night Slash, Acrobatics, and Earthquake!

By making use of its ability “Photosynthesis”, Roaring Moon can dish out even more damage with high Attack stats and powerful moves. With its amazing power, immense speed, and variety of moves, Roaring Moon is a solid choice for a swift physical fighter.

What’s better than one head? A dragon with two other heads for hands! This Dark/Dragon type boasts favorable stats all around, but really overshadows the competition with its Attack and Special Attack.

Hydreigon can learn several hard-hitting physical and special moves, some of which can cover its type weaknesses like Fire Blast, Flash Cannon, Fly and Dragon Pulse! And that’s just the tip of this draconic iceberg.

Hydreigon’s Dark typing and its ability Levitate makes it immune to both Psychic and Ground type moves. And this is while it's resistant to six other types! With its excellent typing, variety of moves, and impressive stats, Hydreigon isn’t called the Brutal Pokemon for nothing.

Hydreigon Pros

  • Shines in its Attack and Special Attack stats
  • Immune to Psychic and Ground type moves

  • Special Attack: 90
  • Special Defense: 65

  • Overall Stats: 570

Chien Pao is of the legendary Four Treasures of Ruin, and its immense power lives up to the name. Chien Pao is about blitzing past opponents with its Speed and striking opponents with its razor-sharp Attack stat.

Chien Pao’s ability, Sword of Ruin, lowers the Defense of every Pokemon on the field except for itself, making Chien Pao hit its opponents harder before they even know it. If you want Chien Pao to dish out a lot more damage, you can teach it  Swords Dance!

Chien Pao can learn several strong moves like Night Slash, Psychic Fang, Sacred Sword, and Acrobatics. If you want a Pokemon who bares its fangs and fights back with them, Chien Pao may just be what you’re looking for.

  • Defense: 95
  • Special Attack: 133

Getting Gholdengo can take a while, as you need 999 Gimmighoul coins to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo. But if you’re up for it, you'll be rewarded with something better than coins.

Gholdengo’s Steel/Ghost typing is excellent, as it makes this Pokemon resistant to 9 other typing and immune to Normal, Fighting, and Poison type moves. And speaking of immunities, Gholdengo’s ability makes it immune to other Pokemon’s status moves.

Ghodengo deserves a gold medal for its high Special Attack stat and the moves that make use of it. Its signature move, Make it Rain, is basically a Steel Type Draco Meteor (with slightly less power), dealing 120 base damage while lowering Special Attack. Thankfully, it can fix this by learning Nasty Plot and can learn Recover to heal itself.

Gholdengo can take lots of hits while dishing out lots of its own. With its type resistances, unique ability, and amazing Special Attack, you’ll be going for gold with Gholdengo!

Gholdengo Pros

  • Loads of type resistances
  • High Special Attack that gets stronger with Nasty Plot

Clodsire is a beefy Pokemon with its high HP and Special Defense. It can even learn defense-boosting moves like Amnesia to make it withstand more special moves. It's even got good egg moves worth considering like  Recover, Stockpile and Swallow, leaving its opponent's attacks in the dirt.

Helping its tankiness even more is its hidden ability, Water Absorb, which, like the name says, will absorb Water type moves and to recover some of Clodsire’s HP.  pretty much erases Clodsire’s Water type weakness by making it so that Water Type moves restores Closures HP! Clodsire’s also got a favorable Attack stat, which works for  moves like Gunk Shot, Earthquake Liquidation, Rock Tomb and Megahorn.

Clodsire is all about absorbing damage like a sponge and either healing it off or sending it back. If a powerful tank is what you’re looking for, Clodsire’s got plenty of dirty tricks up its sleeve..

Clodsire Pros

  • Great with HP and Special Defense
  • Can negate its Water type weakness with Water Absorb

Its Attack  gets stronger with its Supreme Overlord ability, which boosts offensive stats when sending Kingambit  in battle based on how many of your allies have been defeated!

Kingambit’s learnable moves complement its high Attack and Defense. It can use Iron Defense to double its Defense or use Swords Dance to boost its offense while using powerful moves like Foul Play, Poison Jabs, X-Scissor, and its signature move Kowtow Cleave. This move deals 85 base damage and never misses!

  • Attack: 115
  • Defense: 70
  • Special Attack: 70
  • Special Defense: 60
  • Speed: 105
  • Overall Stats: 490

Pawmot may not look like much on the outside, but this Electric/ Fighting type Pokemon (literally) packs a punch. Pawmot is a speedy physical attacker, and it has the ability and moves to back up that power.

While its regular abilities, Volt Absorb and Natural Cure, are good for their own reasons, Iron Fist is where Pawmot’s offensive power truly shines. Iron Fist boosts the power of punching moves, which Pawmot can learn several of and they’re all pretty strong!

Pawmot also knows a powerful signature move called Double Shock. Double Shock deals 120 damage but will get rid of Pawmot’s Electric typing afterwards. This’lll make it so that Pawmot is no longer weak to Ground type moves. It’ll be weak to Flying types as a result, but Pawmot can learn several other Electric type moves or Ice Punch to counter this.

Pawmot Pros

  • Lightning fast Speed and thunderous Attack
  • Iron Fist boosts the many punching moves Pawmot can learn
  • Double Shock can deal high damage and erase its Electric type weakness
  • Can learn several Electric type moves to counter Flying types

  • Special Attack: 80
  • Special Defense: 85
  • Speed: 102
  • Overall Stats: 600

This land shark is about hitting fast and hard with its high Attack and Speed. Garchomp’s only type weaknesses are Ice, Dragon, and Fairy, which it has no problem countering with its learnable moves. Since it can learn moves like Brick Break, Dragon Claw, and Poison Jab, Garchomp’ll have no problem blowing its competition away like a Sandstorm.

Speaking of Sandstorm, Garchomp can increase its evasion in Sandstorm thanks to its Sand Veil ability. Or you can go for its hidden ability Rough Skin, which damages opponents when Garchomp’s hit by contact hitting moves. With its two useful abilities, jet-like speed and terrifying power, Garchomp isn’t just a dragon for show.

Garchomp Pros

  • Monstrous Attack and Speed

Sandaconda can even learn Coil to boost its Attack and Defense further, even its accuracy. Combine this and the boosted evasiveness with a move like Dig and Sandaconda'll be a hard-hitting Pokemon that's…well, hard to hit. Or you could teach it moves like Earthquake or Stone Edge if powerful hits are what you’re looking for.

Sandaconda Pros

  • Incredible Attack and Defense
  • Can boost its evasiveness with Sand Veil and Minimize
  • Can learn moves like Dig and Coil

14. Dusk Form Lycanroc

During battles, this wolf knows how to outspeed its opponents and deliver rock-solid hits.

  • Attack: 117
  • Defense: 65
  • Special Attack: 55
  • Special Defense: 65
  • Speed: 110
  • Overall Stats: 487

While its defenses and Special Attack are nothing spectacular, this wolf’s Attack and Speed makes it just as powerful as a pack. Dusk Form Lycanroc has Tough Claws as its hidden ability, which powers up moves that make direct contact. This ability is a great match for its signature move Accelerock.

Accelerock is a priority move, making Lycanroc always hit first with this move even if its opponent has higher speed. Normally, this move has 40 base power, but combined with same type attack bonus and Tough Claws, this move's damage will boost to around a strong 80!

Dusk Form Lycanroc has plenty of other moves that benefit from Tough Claws like Crunch, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang. It can even learn Swords Dance to boost the power of these moves. As a bonus, it can also learn the entry-hazard move Stealth Rock, which damages an opponent's Pokemon whenever they switch into a new one.

  • Attack: 110
  • Defense: 70
  • Special Attack: 115
  • Special Defense: 70
  • Speed: 90
  • Overall Stats: 525

Lucario has low defenses, but makes up for it with its fairly good speed and amazing Attack and Special Attack. Lucario is a Pokemon that’ll benefit from learning moves of both kinds. Lucario is also a Fighting/Steel type, making it immune to Poison type moves as a nice bonus.

Because its Attack and Special Attack are so good, it benefits from learning both Aura Sphere, which does 80 damage and never misses, and Close Combat, one of the strongest Fighting type moves in the franchise. Lucario can even learn moves like Psychic, Ice Punch, and Water Pulse for type coverage.  And that’s just “some” of the many moves it can learn.

Lucario is a good damage dealer for both Attack and Special Attack while having loads of options for learnable moves. If that’s what you’re looking for, Lucario could be your go-to for that.

Lucario Pros

  • Amazing speed and offensive stats
  • Can learn several good physical and special attacking moves
  • Immune to poison types thanks to being part Steel type
