[Top 10] Monster Hunter Rise Best Gunlance (And How To Get Them)

Watch out, this thing is sharp!

The gunlance is Monster Hunter Rise’s least popular weapon, but that doesn’t matter. Quantity does not always mean quality, and the few that do use gunlance are some of the best hunters in the game.

However, just because gunlance mains are the best, that doesn’t mean they won’t need help from the rest. In this case, the help they need is a weapon that will make them even better.

Without further adieu, these are the ten best gunlances, and how to get them.

10. Abyssal Storm Gunlance

Narwa is the final boss of Monster Hunter Rise’s story quests, so it bares sense that weapons crafted from its remains have a thundering presence.

With so much thunder damage, you shouldn’t be shocked that the Abyssal Storm Gunlance is on this list!.

The Abyssal Storm Gunlance shows off an attack stat of 190 with thunder element damage of 41. Those are pretty damn good numbers! Unfortunately, the weapon is held back by its sharpness, which is only at low blue.

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 190
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Element Damage: Thunder 41
  • Sharpness: Low blue

9. Great Demon Gunlance

TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY RAW DAMAGE. That is all… wait, you’re still here? Fine, I’ll elaborate.

The Great Demon Gunlance has an insane amount of attack stat numbers. Its thunder elemental damage of 20, is also a great aspect. HOWEVER, there are some drawbacks to this weapon.

First, this weapon only has high green sharpness. Second, it has a negative affinity of -10%. This is unfortunate, but the damage numbers make it good enough to be 9th on this list.

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 220
  • Affinity: -10%
  • Element Damage: Thunder 20
  • Sharpness: High Green

What makes the Great Demon Gunlance so great:

  • ABSURD raw damage.
  • Above-average sharpness.
  • Poison damage.

  • Parts for the Great Demon Gunlance are obtained from hunting down the Rajang, unlocked at HR7.

8. Rampage Gunlance S

The Rampage Gunlance S boasts a great amount of raw attack, not as high as the previous entry on this list, but the 10 attack stat lost is gained in blue sharpness. A good trade, indeed.

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 210
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Element Damage: None
  • Sharpness: Low blue

7. Ambermarch

The Ambermarch is the Kushala Daora’s gunlance.

This weapon has the most ice damage you will find on this list, meaning that those that choose to use this weapon are the coolest of the gunlance mains.

A lot of the ambermarch’s attributes make this weapon great. 190 attack and 40% affinity, now THAT is a cold-hearted weapon.

6. Araknalance

The Araknalance was once the best gunlance in all of Monster Hunter, so the fact that it is only 6th on this list says a lot.

White sharpness, high affinity, and fire elemental damage. These are the reasons why Araknalance is on this list. However, its lack of a higher attack stat does make it lower on this list

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 170
  • Affinity: 25%
  • Element Damage: Fire 27
  • Sharpness: Low white

What makes the Araknalance so great:

  • White sharpness.
  • High Affinity.
  • Fire elemental damage.

How to get the Araknalance:

  • Materials for the Araknalance are obtained from hunting down the high-rank Rakna-Kadaki.

5. Fading Night

Forty percent affinity and white sharpness? That alone is enough to make any weapon good, but the Fading Night’s attack stat of 180 makes this weapon great.

  • Affinity: 40%
  • Element Damage: None
  • Sharpness: Low white

  • Great sharpness level.

4. Abyssal Gale Gunlance

To start things off, this weapon boasts an attack stat of 210 whilst simultaneously having high blue sharpness. With a point or two in handicraft, you will have a lot of white sharpness with a lot of damage.

Topping everything mentioned, the Abyssal Gale Gunlance also has 15 points of dragon elemental damage.

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 210
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Element Damage: Dragon 15
  • Sharpness: High blue

3. Venomous Attar

If there’s one thing that should be said about the Venomous Attar it’s “That’s a lotta damage.”

First off, this weapon has TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY attack stat. This is all while having even more damage in the form of 31 points of poison element damage.

Honestly, the only reason this weapon isn’t number one is the fact that it only has low blue sharpness.

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 230
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Element Damage: Poison 31
  • Sharpness: Low blue

2. Reddnaught Gunlance

The Reddnaught Gunlance has A LOT of sharpness. This gunlance is the sharpest in all of Monster Hunter Rise.

180 attack and 38 points of dragon elemental damage, on top of amazing sharpness, make this weapon number 2 on this list!

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 180
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Element Damage: Dragon 38
  • Sharpness: High white

1. Tigrex Gunlance

Once again, THAT’S A LOT OF DAMAGE!

Two hundred and thirty damage, this time with white sharpness. That is all.

One thing to note, though, is that the Tigrex Gunlance has the unfortunate drawback of only having -15% affinity, but honestly, that is a low price to pay for an insane amount of damage.

Weapon Stats:

  • Attack: 230
  • Affinity: -15%
  • Element Damage: None
  • Sharpness: Low white
