What are the best Minecraft adventure mods?

There are a lot of different mods for Minecraft. Some mods demand you to build a gigantic factory, build nuclear reactors, and have the power of the sun within your hands; and some other mods would love you to explore the world more and find interesting things in it.

15. Artifacts

While modded Minecraft is really fun, you can basically craft anything you want without much exploration. Well, Artifacts strives to fix that problem by inserting items into the game that are pretty powerful and useful, but you can’t craft them. You will have to explore the world to find these items.

These items all have unique models that just looks fun. You can find these artifacts on chests in the vanilla structure that also have chests. There also is an additional underground structure added to the world.

Be careful with mimics though. Not every chest is what is seems to be.

With this mod, you can explore randomly generated dungeons that are all different from each other in the way they look, function, and what they contain in them. Yep, the loot is random, and while a dungeon can be really small, it also can be really vast as well.

I want to ask the same question I asked at the beginning of the last entry, but for villages. This mod allows you to create a village that is actually alive and thriving.

There are more roles for the villagers (the inhabitants of your colony), bigger and better buildings with different purposes, and so on. You are the leader of this colony, and you can improve the colony, make new buildings, and basically play a city management game in Minecraft.

The mod is really detailed, and accounts for the random aspect of your surroundings, including mountains, oceans, and so on. As the mod says, the limit is your imagination!

We all love a magic mod, don’t we? While magic mods stay in a place between technical mods and adventure mods, almost seeming like a glue between them, occultism definitely leans more towards and adventure mod than similar mods.

Have you wanted to experience the dark side of magic; yes, even darker than Blood Magic, which is also another great Minecraft magic mod. You can summon demons by doing certain rituals and bend the demons to your will to do your bidding. You can also craft different jewelry and ornaments that grant you different powers.

Definitely a mod to check out if you enjoy magic mods. You will have to explore and find different resources to progress throughout the mod, and the mod encourages exploration and adventure with the results of what you get out of it. Recommended!

And here it is! Thaumcraft is arguably the best magic mod in Minecraft, and it changes a lot from update to update.

Overall, you collect alchemical elements and other things from different materials throughout the world and use those materials to create new things like golems that will help you do different tasks, create powerful staffs, armor, trinkets, machines, and so on.

While the name of the mod might suggest that it only adds dragons, that is a complete lie. Overall, there are two types of dragons in Ice and Fire: Dragons. One are ice dragons, and the second are fire dragons. They all have different characteristics, and you will need to figure out which one you like the most.

There is a lot of detail in having a dragon and making it stronger. Also, what will you do with the dragon. As I said, the mod does not only add dragons. It adds different mods like sea serpents, liches, hydras, and also other, different dragons like lightning dragons that you need to watch out for and be mindful of.

The mod also adds different places like dragon caverns and adds items like the bestiary. This mod is definitely a strong addition to your adventure modpack.

Minecraft really needs a update on different underground (and on ground) structures that we are so used to by now. YUNG aims to update the mineshafts in Minecraft to have more reliance on adventure and exploration without being too different than what the original offers.

What does this mod add? Well, it adds different biome variants to the mineshafts, makes them into different and varied tunnels that are much more different than each other than they were in vanilla Minecraft. It adds things like abandoned workstations, cellars, outposts, surface openings, and so on. Pretty cool, huh?

The mod also has the option to customize your own mineshafts and make them as different as you can make them. We all love customization and player choice here, so, this is definitely a welcome addition to the mod and gives it a few more extra points.

How many exactly? Well, the mod adds over 80 biomes that are all different from each other. There are different materials, new blocks, and other new stuff in these biomes with different skyboxes, color schemes, and so on. Some biomes are more fantastical and magical than others, while some biomes are more down-to-earth and familiar to the biomes of old in vanilla Minecraft.

This mod aims to give you the ability to make yourself much stronger than before while also not being too far off from vanilla mechanics and how the original game actually functions. So, how does it do that? Let’s find out.

The mod adds different modules to vanilla Minecraft. For example, there is a whole overhaul to enchantment, where you can balance Eterna, Quanta, and Arcana to get what you want from enchantments, and the max level of enchantment is now 60!

Other things like new status effects like Knowledge which increases experience gained from killing mobs, and overhaul to the wandering villagers.

Roguelike Dungeons is an old mob. Fnar’s Edition adds new updates to the mod and makes some new adjustments.

The mod, overall, adds new dungeons to the game. These dungeons are completely randomized and can be found all over the game world. The loot you can find in these dungeons, in addition to different threats and enemies are all randomized as well.

When we are talking about dungeons, we are not talking about a single tower or a building. While there are those as well, some dungeons are extremely impressive and look amazing from top to bottom. The randomized angle of the mod is definitely not noticeable in most cases and is a joy to play.

1. The Twilight Forest

Anyone who likes playing adventure mods in Minecraft has definitely heard about the Twilight Forest.

This review will not give any spoilers to the mod aside from the fact that you create a portal in the ground to enter the Forest. It is a whole new dimensions with a myriad of new biomes, items, landscapes, buildings, dungeons, mobs, bosses, loot, different game mechanics, and so much more.

The new dimension is vast and feels hand-crafted down to the very block. There is a lot of fun to be had from this mod. Even if you are playing with only this mod, you will definitely get a great amount of milage and fun from this mod combined with vanilla Minecraft.

Definitely a strong recommend for anyone who enjoys playing mods in Minecraft with a lot of adventure and exploration!
