[Top 5] Genshin Impact Best Pyro Characters

Genshin Impact Best Pyro Character
Burn them all!!

Out of all the Elements in Genshin Impact, Pyro, resonating with fire, is arguably the element that deals the most damage of them all. Additionally, it also reacts with every element in the game, including Dendro.

Not only that, Pyro also has the most amount of characters with a total of 8 Pyro Vision holders: Amber, Bennett, Diluc, Hu Tao, Klee, Xiangling, Xinyan, and Yanfei. Plus, the Pyro group has every weapon in the game, being the first group of elements to complete this department.

That said, choosing which characters are the best ones isn’t exactly a piece of cake. There are a few things to consider, quite obviously, like their different roles and how they’d work in different groups with different combinations.

Even so, I’ll try my best to list the 5 best Pyro characters in Genshin Impact.

5. Yanfei

Starting off the list is Yanfei, the 2nd Pyro Catalyst in the game and also the newest Catalyst in Genshin Impact. She’s a main DPS, much like the other characters in this list except for one.

As a Catalyst, Elemental DMG is the basic DMG, which means she’s a good choice if you just want to keep on dealing Pyro DMG. Plus, her fireballs can fly up to flying enemies like the Eye of the Storm.

With Charged Attack as her strongest point, you’re welcome to use literally any of her attacks for Pyro DMG. Unfortunately, though, her Charged Attack can’t be used against enemies flying above.

To top it off, all of her attacks except for Normal Attack deal AoE Pyro DMG. This means not only is she a good Pyro main DPS, she’s a great choice to fight against mobs of enemies.

Why Yanfei Is Great:

  • Almost all of her Attacks deal AoE Pyro DMG
  • Her Passive Talent increases DMG Done by her Charged Attack
  • Scarlet Seals decrease her Stamina Consumption
  • When there’s Dendro to inflict Burn, her AoE Pyro DMG can last longer to react with other Elements

4. Klee

The thing with Pyro Catalyst is, they are going to deal Pyro DMG no matter what. There’s just no way to inflict DMG that’s not Elemental. Another main DPS, Klee, is in this category.

Klee is pretty easy to use, you can just spam her Normal Attack and they’ll do the DMG for you. Needless to say, all of her attacks are just too good to be true.

Unfortunately, her small build doesn’t allow her to reach enemies that fly above her, which means you have to wait for her Elemental Skill or Burst that would explode tall enough to deal DMG.

Other than that, though, Klee is a really good main DPS for you to use because both her Elemental Skill and Burst lasts for 15 seconds and 10 seconds respectively, and they continuously deal AoE Pyro DMG.

Why Klee Is Great:

  • Her strongest point is her Normal Attack
  • Elemental Skill starts with 2 charges
  • Elemental Skill and Burst lasts for a period of time, dealing AoE Pyro DMG continuously

3. Diluc

In 3rd place is Diluc, the Claymore wielder with a Pyro vision. This is the ultimate combination right here, with Pyro being the Element that deals the most DMG along with Claymore as the weapon that deals the most Physical DMG.

His Elemental Burst is his strongest point, which releases flames that knock nearby enemies with Pyro DMG. After that, the flame turns into a Phoenix that flies forward as it inflicts massive Pyro DMG to enemies in its path. It will explode into an AoE Pyro DMG in the end.

During so, Diluc’s Claymore will be imbued with Pyro element and his Normal and Charged Attack can deal Pyro DMG for a period of time. On his Ascension 4, the duration for this lasts for 4 seconds longer and Diluc gets a 20% Pyro DMG Bonus during then.

Why Diluc Is Great:

  • Elemental Skill can be used 3 times consecutively
  • Elemental Burst has a series of DMG (AoE, Elemental, DoT, Explosion, etc.)
  • Ascension 4 prolongs the duration of Pyro Enchantment on his Claymore
  • Ascension 4 gives him a 20% Pyro DMG Bonus

2. Bennett

Bennett lands number 2, which isn’t all that surprising. Additionally, he’s also the only non-main DPS in the list.

He shines the best as a Utility with his Elemental Burst. Through his Fantastic Voyage, Bennett creates an Inspiration Field that deals Pyro DMG to the enemies.

Characters within this field will have their HP healed up to the 70% mark, the amount of healing scaled to his Max HP. If the characters’ HP is already at 70%, they’ll instead get an ATK Bonus that is based on his Base ATK. Also, characters within the field get Pyro element.

Due to this, Bennett’s is the best buff you could have in your team without food or potions (like in Spiral Abyss). That being said, it’s pretty obvious why he’s number 2, right?

Why Bennett Is Great:

  • Elemental Burst can heal and boost DMG
  • Elemental Burst encourages Elemental Reaction
  • C1 allows characters to get ATK boost even before reaching 70% mark
  • C1 also gives an additional 20% Base ATK during Elemental Burst

  1. Hu Tao

And the number 1 spot goes to Hu Tao, the only Pyro character that wields a Polearm. As I mentioned before, she’s also a main DPS.

Hu Tao is honestly too great that I’m not sure which part of her is her strongest main point. All of her skills (even the Passive ones) eventually lead up  to buffing up her ATK, which is why she’s a really superb main DPS.

Her Elemental Skill converts attack DMG into Pyro DMG that can’t be overridden by any other elemental infusion. Using Charged Attacks during this will apply the Blood Blossom effect to enemies hit, and these enemies will continue to take Pyro DMG every 4 seconds, which counts as Elemental Skill DMG.

Her Ascension 1 raises allies’ (except for Hu Tao) CRIT Rate by 12% for 8 seconds after her Elemental Skill is activated. Also, her Ascension 4 boosts her Pyro DMG Bonus by 33% when HP is 50% or less.

Why Hu Tao Is Great:

  • Elemental Skill increases her ATK based on her Max HP when activating the skill
  • Elemental Skill converts attack DMG to Pyro DMG
  • Charged Attacks deals Pyro DMG every 4s during Elemental Skill
  • Elemental Burst deals wide AoE Pyro DMG and heals her HP when she strikes enemies
  • When her HP is 50% or less, DMG and HP Regeneration are increased
