[Top 3] Genshin Impact Best Kokomi Builds That Wreck Hard!

Kokomi and Raiden. Whose side will win?

Sangonomiya Kokomi is the Priestess of Watatsumi Island. As their leader, you wouldn’t expect her to fight in the front lines through the war, but she did. Why did she do that? Well, she has the power to back it up.

Although her kit was a bit controversial at first, she’s now one of the best healers in the game. Not only that, she deals tons of damage after activating her elemental burst, on par with some of the strongest DPS. She has various builds that we can see in this guide.

3. Build for max HP and healing: Tenacity of the Millilith

This first build concentrates on maxing out her HP. Why? Well, Kokomi’s healing increases with a percentage of her max HP. Moreover, the damage increase of her normal attacks also depends on her max HP. So, you know, more HP equals more healing and DPS.

It’s a simple but good build. It works as a basic build which makes her a good character with huge healing and decent DPS. However, the lack of Hydro os Healing bonuses and the disparity of the substats make this build the last one on our list.

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. Healing: As her healing abilities scale from her max Hp and this build maximizes her HP, her healing with this build is so high she may cause over-healing.
  • 2. Tanking: We shouldn’t forget that her having tons of HP makes her able to receive a lot of damage without dying, which can be useful for tanking difficult enemies.
  • 3. Damage dealing: this is in third place because her damage is less compared to the other two builds, this being because she doesn’t get any hydro bonus or extra passives for her attacks.

Build details:

  • Weapon: Moonglow (5-star), Prototype Amber (4-star), or Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (3-star) in that order
  • Artifacts: Tenacity of the Millilith
    • Sands: HP%
    • Goblet: HP%
    • Circlet: HP%

2. Build for Hydro damage and reactions: Heart of Depth

We now have a full DPS build. Although the weapons to choose from are the same—HP% based—the artifact set focuses on increasing her damage output. This damage increase comes from different ways.

In the details, we can see that her goblet increases her Hydro Bonus, and the Healing Bonus from her circlet is transformed into Hydro Bonus thanks to her passive. The two passives from the set also increase both her Hydro damage and her full damage after a skill. With all of this, how could you consider her just a healer?

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. Damage dealing: As this build is focused on increasing her damage through various methods (HP%, Hydro Bonus, passives…), she could even be considered one of the top DPS.
  • 2. Healing: Even if the focus is on damage, we shouldn’t forget that the healing bonus and HP% also increase her healing, so she can still support your team from the rear.
  • 3. Tanking: With this build, her HP won’t be as maxed up as with the third, so her tanking abilities won’t be the same. However, she will still have more HP than most characters.

Build details:

  • Weapon: Moonglow (5-star), Prototype Amber (4-star), or Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (3-star) in that order
  • Artifacts: Heart of Depth
    • Sands: HP%
    • Goblet: Hydro Bonus
    • Circlet: Healing Bonus

1. Build for Healer+DPS: Ocean-Hued Clam

Finally, we can consider this first build a mixed one. The stats we increase with this build are HP% and Healing Bonus, not Hydro Bonus. So how can she be a DPS and not a healer like in the third? Well, there’re three reasons.

Two we already know: her burst damage increase comes from her HP and her Healing Bonus is converted to Hydro Bonus thanks to her passive. What is the third reason, you ask? It’s the passives of this new set: the Ocean-Hued Clam set.

This difficult-to-understand set may seem like a healer’s. It increases Healing Bonus and creates bubbles that heal characters after a while. However, this Bonus may as well be called Hydro Bonus, and the bubbles deal huge Physical damage when they explode. Healer? DPS? Why don’t be both?

What This Build Excels In:

  • 1. Healing: Thanks to the huge amount of HP% and Healing Bonus her healing with this build is definitely the best of the game. That’s it. No more to say.
  • 2. Damage dealing: As explained, this is a mixed build, and because of the reasons above, she can deal as much damage as a normal DPS like Diluc if her substats are good enough.
  • 3. Tanking: This build still gives her less HP than the third one. However, it still makes her the second character with that much HP in the game, following Zhongli.

Build details:

  • Weapon: Moonglow (5-star), Prototype Amber (4-star), or Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (3-star) in that order
  • Artifacts: Heart of Depth
    • Sands: HP%
    • Goblet: HP%
    • Circlet: Healing Bonus

What can I say? Sangonomiya Kokomi is a really fun character to play. Although her banner just passed, I really recommend you save some wishes for her re-run. And if you have her, choose the build you prefer for these and create your perfect pink-haired mermaid princess.
