Valve's Trailer For Dota Card Game "Artifact" Receives 20,000 Dislikes

Artifact: The Dota Card Game. Not Half-Life 3, Portal 3, Team Fortress 3, or Left 4 Dead 3.

Valve Corporation, the creators of such acclaimed titles as Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Portal, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead and developers of immensely popular digital distribution platform Steam have just released a trailer for a new digital card game entitled Artifact. Almost instantaneously, it was met with polarising opinions, with a clear majority of Valve fans being left disappointed, embittered and bemused in the YouTube community.

Released on the 8th of August, the trailer was initially shown to the audience at The International 2017 at the KeyArena in Seattle and the response, as you can see here was pretty unanimous. After the gargantuan success of Half-Life 2, fans were undoubtedly incapable of containing their excitement, expecting a third instalment, only to be disheartened by the reveal of yet another card game.

The very brief 35-second trailer, which you can watch here shows a group of vibrantly-coloured crystals floating across what appears to be outer-space, yet reveals very little about the game, only to end with the words “Artifact: The Dota Card Game. 2018”.

There isn’t much information on Artifact: The Dota Card Game yet, but we know it’s set for release at some point next year. We’ll keep you updated for more information.

Perhaps it’ll surprise us all and be the next Pokémon. We’re not betting on it though.
